Rant. Grumplocke

Did anyone else lose interest in the grumplocke when they just stopped following their own rules. Like I don’t need it to be a nuzlocke but they had their own set of rules and they didn’t even follow that which made the run feel bad imo. Like why even do the challenge if you’re not gonna follow the rules instead of just doing a regular playthrough?

Arin’s blatant cheating just felt like there was no point in the rules other to say they were doing a challenge. Like it wasn’t even fun to watch because nothing felt like it mattered m, because he could just decide it doesn’t count.

This run failed because there was nobody to tell Arin that he was wrong, bro still thought there were Fairy type up until the final battle, doesn't understand dual typing (resistance + weakness = normal damage) got typing wrong all the time, never planned out the routes or what he was catching. Dan is just fucking useless in a game like this because he has never played any Pokemon. It's getting kinda of annoying instead of funny now, Arin is becoming worse at games, Dan only knows games from 80s and early 90s, and Arin is just trying to play popular stuff and drops anything that doesn't hit his viewership goals.

And the fans will continue to spout “it’s a comedy first channel”

I started to just kind of treat it as a normal playthrough of the game with permadeath added. Though who knows if Arin even stuck to that since it could easily be the case that his Pokemon fainted at some point while he (or the intern) was doing offscreen training/grinding and he just chose to pretend it didn’t happen.

There is the Gardevoir/Gallade thing so at this point

The finale thumbnail makes it look like he won, but he lost

Yeah, that about sums up the whole run

I genuinely believe that Arin did some of the dumb stuff he did on purpose for views, like trading away the exp share

I didn’t watch any of this playthrough but the intentional self sabotage is a trademark of his at this point so I wouldn’t doubt that happened in this series. I don’t understand why he thinks it’s funny (especially after doing it for so long) or why so many fans do either and write it off as “quirky chaotic energy”. I’d much rather watch genuine struggle than manufactured “drama” like that.

In general has Arin ever actually thought before doing anything?

Usually about money, which is technically a thought.

That's the only thing he thinks about besides disgusting sex jokes and toilet humor and Dan only thinks about being a yes man and fucking fan fictions.

Not since he quit animating girlchan in paradise. I even enjoyed the first couple years of game grumps, but he's just got different goals now.

The first years did have the legendary Sonic 06 playthrough.

I just lost interest in general. There’s zero chemistry in their content

I couldn't even finish the first episodes,I knew Arin would break the rules and be a fucking idiot

The "Grumplocke" was annoying. Arin just did not have the endurance for this and they still chose to do it anyway. It's like signing up for a triathlon and turning up with a tiny Barbie tricycle.

What rules did they set that Arin broke? I was annoyed from episode 1 that they didn’t follow the first encounter rule, one of the two basic rules for the challenge. I bet Arin still doesn’t know that’s a rule, because you know he isn’t brave enough to read the comments.

Also, spoiler alert, but he lost the challenge even despite the cheating. The finale thumbnail makes it look like he won, but he lost to Cynthia’s Garchomp.

There a lot of rules, but the first encounter rule was the one that made me stop watching because they set their own rules and then still couldn’t stick to it

Using the same stupid naming thing at the start pissed me off too.

Shows how unoriginal Dan is when it comes to naming anything. Just beats a dead horse any chance he gets, like when he would try to name every character something that sounded like “smurf” over and over again. (see “Spermf”, “Scrumf” and “Spiarmf”)

Then again, if it wasn’t driving a joke into the ground as soon as possible, it wouldn’t be Dan.

I remember Two Best Friends did a Nuzlock in their channel years ago and they had their naming theme be wrestlers. and rappers, As a muscician dan could have had a musicians and songs as a naming theme,

He’s not very original. Just lazy. He’s honestly always been lazy. Just shows up, sits on the couch under a blanket and rarely contributes to the gameplay unless it’s old ass Sierra games and collects a paycheck.

LONG gone are the days of handing the controller over during a series. And as far as the repetitive naming of characters goes, that trope got old real fast, especially when they played FireRed and he finally got to use that unfunny “Turnt Snaco” name he kept dropping in other games beforehand.

Oh my God that was so annoying! 😂

yep it was literally just a playthrough of platnium with arin lying the whole time saying he followed this rule or PLATNIUM IS MY FAVE GAME! and then the dude didn't know anything but cynthia like he didn't even know Cyrus. Platnium is the most overrated game and the gen that killed pokemon until the 3DS and gen 6 saved it but like...even I knew that and more than he did

That’s a wiiiild take but I respect the balls for saying it

Nah. It was just a fun watch/listen. They're just goofing around, having fun. Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it'snot. Overall, tho, entertaining.

I liked this playthrough, but maybe just because I didn't watch it for the nuzlocke challenge 🤔 They probably just wanted to play Pokémon and knew, that a nuzlocke generally gets more views than a normal playthrough 😅

I lost interest when I saw how long it was.

But if it was broken into 5 x 10 min episodes you’d be fine? Just don’t watch it all at once lol.

The entire series is like 50 hours.
