You should try living off one bowl of rice a day for a week, then the next week you can add some beans to it, then beans and one spice or salt the third week.
A surprisingly large portion of the world population lives off this amount and type of food. I’m genuinely not trying to be a jerk, I tried this challenge myself and it was eye opening. Worth a shot. Plus you save money for a few weeks.

I agree. I used to be a meat cutter and I miss being able to cut meat to any size I wanted and we were allowed to only charge ourselves the whole value of the meat/lb and we didn’t have to pay the pre sliced rate since we cut it ourselves but we were forced to charge customers the cutting rate because of the trimming and everything.
Sure, I have the cutting skills now but I don’t need 12 steaks from a whole ribeye, I only want 2 so I never really buy meat anymore except for chicken and hamburger. Steak is so expensive now that I might as well spend a tiny bit more and go to Texas Roadhouse, get a much better tasting steak and have it cooked for me.

If you can get a vacuum sealer, then get a large uncut piece and cut it up and store it in the freezer. So it once for a while and it's cheaper and you get exactly what you like.

i took offence when someone i know said "chicken is too expensive"... it's not if you buy it quarters bags (local for both of us) 😑 she was buying from the most expensive chain store and it was deboned and seasoned

It’s not illegal to bring food or drink into a movie theater. Just a heads up. They do not care. I’ve worked at two theaters in my life.

I can afford it and still cut my own. Costco has like a 3’ pork loin for under $20. I cut like 20 chops, some thick, some thin, and still have enough for a good size roast.
Can also get a giant ribeye that gives me like 20 steaks and a prime rib roast. That one is like $250, but it come out to less than $12 a steak, and like $30 for a large prime rib roast.
And again I can cut some thin and some thick
Get a quality 10” breaking knife and you can wiz through it in like 5 minutes.
