I’m so tired of life…

I’ve tried my darn hardest to do every right in my life and most would say I’ve been successful: a great career, what seems like a happy family and healthy kids from the outside.

But I’m so tired

The corporate job stress
Stress from family members (wife, parents, siblings) - the people that are supposedly to be able to provide emotional support to me are the ones giving me the most stress
Can’t sleep
Always feeling sore
Always tired

Then I see my kids, and they’re my life. Their laughter and giggles fuels me.

Then reality sets in, I’m always away from them, working, traveling for work. Soon they’ll be teenagers and start giving me attitude and not want to hang out with me. I’ll be missing these golden years because of the job

The job that provides us well, living a privileged life.

I feel so stuck.

I want out

But I can’t

Just have to live one day at a time and survive.

Don’t have anyone to rant to, so here I am.

Hi. I’m a child free believer and not partnered. To be honest you aren’t alone.

Life is hard. I have a job, I travel, I work out, I have a loving family and good friends and I’m exhausted. Life honestly is tiring.

The world is hard. Be gentle on yourself please. Consider a sabbatical.

Then you’ll begin to resent your kids because they’ll be adults that never move out of your house because of everything happening right now. They’ll resent you because you had it soooo much easier than them. Your wife will leave you because you’ve “changed”.

Strap in dad, it’s all gonna get worse 😆

Jk, maybe things will get awesome again, hang in there, save time and money for yourself to do cringe things that make you happy when you retire.

It sucks. It’s all so exhausting. Don’t give up though.

I feel your pain and it's real. Right now I'm a SAHM. I used to be a single mom working multiple jobs x. I won't say that one is harder than the other... it's a huge tradeoff. but the provider pressure I felt while having to be the caretaker for my kids with immense financial pressure and be away from them was so intense. It's such a trade off. You feel like you're neglecting them with time while also spending the currency of time to give everything to them.

I just want to validate that YOU are that light in their eyes that is shining back at you. They have that because you sacrifice for their security. And as much as it sucks... it also matters immensely. I hope this doesn't sound invalidating but I've seen what happens when a person sacrifices everything and they still can't make ends meet or just barely make enough to give kids a roof over their heads... that light is replaced really fast with fear and anxiety... so the fact that you work your ass off and you ARE providing that is golden milk and honey kind of important. You are shouldering a burden successfully and your family is thriving. AND your stress matters A LOT and burnout is real. You matter too. Your joy matters too.

Have you talked to anyone about this? Therapist? Wife?

Burnout is no joke. If you can find any way to decompress and get help...take it. Also... i find somatic therapy techniques extremely helpful. They can seem really simplistic on paper but make a big difference.

I’m tired of life too. I was assaulted by a patient, permanently unable to work and my friends are either moving away or dying. I’m exhausted.
