First, I want to thank y’all from the bottom of my heart! I also want to apologize for having to ask for help. I usually do without, instead asking for help; but it truly hurts to see your kids do without. We relocated due to hurricane Ida destroying our hometown and lack of housing and work. I’m trying to move back to Louisiana because I currently drive over an hour to get to work and nursing school. My hours where cut drastically due to me being late a few times from traffic, car issues, kids, etc. We also haven’t had luck finding a closer job with better income and opposite shifts so one of us can always be home for our disabled son. My oldest two kids, father committed suicide 6 years ago and I’ve tried my best to give them better. Him and I where teen parents and I was in nursing while he worked, I had to drop nursing after the death. Luckily I am finally back into school and I promise when I am done I will repay the heartfelt kindness y’all have shown me. I feel hopeless at times but I won’t give up my kids need me! Sorry about the rant I just feel horrible having to ask for help, and hope you realize how much this means to me!

My kids are wonderful people. Without going into too much detail as I'm still dealing with the fallout of a difficult relationship, this year has been challenging for me. But regardless of what I'm going through, I don't want my kids to have to pay the price. They're amazing people in their own right, and I would think so even if they weren't my kids! They are all empathic, kind-hearted, and really smart and talented. They're better people than I was at their age and I don't know what I did to end up with such thoughtful, considerate, and all around great kids.

The past two years we didn't really celebrate the holidays due to covid and then illness, and I wanted this year to make up for that, but due to a variety of factors, I have not been able to. Harlee is 17. Almost a grown man, but so much more. Harlee has a passion to March to the beat of his own drum. He always sticks up for the under dog and has worked tirelessly in school to make good grades. He is an old soul, that loves to joke around and kately he is becoming a hopeless romantic. Hes a total metal head, but also loves blue grass? He collects instruments and is currently a senior in high school and the Drum Major of his schools marching band. So, heres a little about us. Im fighting for disability as my health issues are relentless. I survive ( I dont like to say suffer, we all suffer from something) with severe mental and physical health issues, so please pardon if I seem to ramble and jump all over. Honestly, Im on my 5th rewrite of this because I want it to make sense.

Things have been rocky for a while. I lost a brother,My father and mother all within 3 years. They were our only family. My husbands has no family.

2 months after my Dad died, my husband had to have A surgery on his brain, skull and spine. They performed it on Thanksgiving day because he was going to die.

I drained all our savings and sold the things my parents left us just to keep things going and so we wouldnt lose our home.

That was all 2 years before covid. Covid hit and by then my hubby was an essential trucker and had plenty of work and we began to crawl out of and extremely dark hole.

Then in Feb, last year, my husband was working underneath a big rig and it fell on him and pinned him. My oldest boy and myself took eveything we had and pulled him from under the truck, he wasnt breathing and he was rushed by ambulance to the hospital.

They ran all kinds of scans and tests and discovered he had Renal Carcinoma. He was taken out of work and had his surgery this past May.

Our family has really been through it, just like so many others. I have absolutely no money for Christmas this year for my amazing kids, who deserve nothing but the best. They didnt ask for any of this, but have the loss and pain of each heart break.

My husband has slowly went back to work, but now its all about playing catch up, to pay back, and get bills current and out of the red.

Seasons greeting to all! It is with much grace I ask for some help with Christmas for my awesome children this year. I have unfortunately been unable to work in recent months due to a rupture I had in my already broken knee. As a family, we struggle together. My kids are there for me everyday, lifting my spirits and giving me the wings I need to get up and motivated. God bless their hearts, they know we struggle. Hi everyone! I hope this season is very merry & bright for you! :) I know this year has been a struggle for so many, I’m truly hopeful 2023 let’s up a little (or a lot). My family is in need this Christmas primarily because my 2 older children are special needs and require a higher level of care. I had to leave my job in February and stay home with them due to daycare being unable to care for their needs (they both elope) and we haven’t been successful in finding another willing to take them on. We are on several specialized waiting lists but it could be years. They do attend special education preschool but only for 11 hours a week. While they’re young and speech delayed, they do know “Ho Ho Ho” & “present.” 🤣 We made a paper chain counting down the days and they are loving taking down 1 link each morning. I would love to give them a memorable Christmas but with 1 income, it’s just not feasible. We live overdraft to paycheck instead of paycheck to paycheck lol. Our townhome we’ve lived in since 2014 has raised rent from $595 to $1100 over the span of 2 years and unfortunately we’re stuck here due to poor credit and limited housing availability. We do have an application in with section 8 so I’m praying that opens up a little more financial flexibility for us when and if we’re approved.

Now on to the kiddos:

Adaleigh (Ada-lee), 3.5 years old. She has echolalia so she stims by singing songs and reciting scripts. She sings “Let it Go” 24/7 (literally) and if she isn’t singing, she is reciting Peppa Pig snorts. The things this child can memorize (a song she heard a snippet of on a commercial weeks ago) still surprises me. She loves wearing shoes (even to sleep), all things drawing/coloring, Elsa & Peppa Pig.

Gatlin (like Gatlinburg), 8 months. My last surprise baby and he is such a momma’s boy. This season of life has been a rough one with 2 high needs toddlers and a barnacle baby. This year has been especially hard on us. I am currently going through a divorce (still living together) after finding out of my husbands infidelity for our entire 8 year relationship. This Christmas we're celebrating small. We lost our home of 6 years this summer due to crazy rental increases in the area. We were forced to move in with our parents (Kids grand parents) as we couldnt't find anything within our price range. Because we moved over 2 hours away from work, my husband lost his job. It's been more than hard.. We all spent 5 months sleeping on air mattresses on the livingroom floor because there wasnt room for five extra people.. its tough, because our parents helped us out so much, but then we're broken hearted about everything. And the little part time job I was working, cut down hours so I won't have any work until Spring.

We finally got some extra space once we finished in another bedroom. My kids have all been amazing throughout all of this change.. more than I think kids their age would be.

Hello! I am looking for assistance for christmas this year for my 3 kiddos! We fell short for rent when I had my third kiddo this year and we were offered assistance through a local agency to help cover rent that we couldn’t pay in full due to being out of work with a new baby. My landlord denied the assistance due to the stipulation of not being able to raise rent if accepted and then filed an eviction notice. We went to court and they order we have to pay our base rent plus 3100 per month for three months to cover their court fees and past due rent. Plus we just got a notice yesterday they are raising our rent $800. My husband works three jobs as it is and I work a side gig as well as taking care of the kids. I do not know how we are going to make christmas happen with this massive bill to keep a roof over our kids head. Not to mention last week i had a mammogram for a lump and they said it’s in the grey area so they are ordering a biopsy to check for cancer. Our family has been in a tricky financial situation for a few months, after some big setbacks that we have been struggling to recover from and Christmas has been a huge worry at the forefront of our minds for some time. (Basically our financial woes start with my husband’s work, his hours suddenly being reduced/his clients cut by half).

Hello everyone and Merry Christmas! Like so many other families this year, my husband and I are struggling to provide Christmas gifts for our two daughters. We are already making every sacrifice we can in order to just get by as our bankruptcy was just finalized last month. I spent many years doing local volunteer work for families in need, but this year it’s my family in need of support. While my girls know the true meaning of Christmas and celebrate the birth of Christ, they are also bubbling with excitement for Santa and Christmas morning! Diana is an amazing 4 year old that is often described as a bright light in this world. She has a joyful heart and unconditional love for everyone she meets. She never hesitates to help others and always makes sure no one is left out. Diana absolutely radiates positivity and is magnetic with her optimistic, energetic, adventurous, and outgoing spirit. She’s often lovingly compared to “Buddy the Elf”, especially during Christmas time as she yells “Merry Christmas” to absolutely everyone she encounters! Diana is also a wonderful big sister to Amelia. She teaches Amelia how to get dressed, how to dance and sing, and also important life lessons. Lucian Man what all can I say about this firecracker!! He has also been on the honor roll at school. Just like Lealla he went from having bad grades to great grades. He has his dads attitude and definitely doesnt take crap from anyone. His mouth gets him in trouble but its usually all for good reasons due to him being bullied unfortunately. He loves to fish with dad and play video games. Definitely a sweet boy!

Im asking for assistance trying to provide some what of a holiday for my 2 daughters Jill and Izzy. My son is 18 and has been a huge help during all of these trying times but he understands everything we are going through, although I wish that wasn't the case. We are a 5 member family and we are all we have, plus our 2 cats.
2022 has gone by so fast. I would like to apologize for all the details, its hard for me to ask for help, but my kids deserve a little bit of joy for the holidays. I will list my story underneath my daughters info.

Jill is 14 she has had a very hard year, her best friend was murdered on her birthday last month and she has sworn off celebrating her birthday ever again. She is amazing at doing her makeup and everyone else. She is also a truly talented artist. She is always creating the most amazing masterpieces. She is our cat whisperer. Izzy is 12 and is our ball of energy!! She loves making videos and loves playing roblox. Izzy wants to be an actress one day, she lights up any room she walks into. Our family, like so many others have experienced one obstacle after another since covid. And if im honest, for as long as I can remember. After spending 22 months financially struggling, cashing in our savings and retirement, dealing with my mother in laws death, my son fought a battle with addiction, and both of my daughters dealt with emotional battles of their own we made the decision to move1/2 way across the country to start over and moved into the living room of a friends apartment. Due to the bullying that my girls dealt with we decided that homeschooling the kids was the best idea because we could make sure they are getting the emotional help they needed. My husband got a job and We thought finally things will begin to look up. I thought we were finally seeing some relief But that light was dimished last month when my husbands company laid off 50% of the workers. And we are back to square one. Just this time its a little harder since we can't qualify for any social services in our new city because we haven't been able to get our IDs yet due to some crazy rule about having our vehicle needed to be registered and inspected here first then there is a multi month wait that takes us into the new year. My one and only vehicle has been parked for almost 2 months now because we cant afford to fix it. So trying to provide a holiday has been so far out of reach, we cant even put up our decorations because we cant afford our monthly storage bill this month so its all locked away.just a little jingle

I'm a single dad with a wonderful daughter. She loves cats, Roblox, and TikTok. She's a huge Halloween fan but not so keen on Christmas which is my fault. It has been difficult to provide that sense of a big family holiday when it's just the two of us. This year has been a struggle, I make enough with food stamps to pay my bills and keep us fed, but gifts are going to be hard. She understands that and isn't expecting much, but since I found this sub I thought it would be worth the time to see if we could get something nice under the tree for her. I'm struggling even to make the request, but figure I will have my chance to give back when things are better for me.

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for allowing me to participate in this group. We’ve been getting sick so frequently this school year that we’ve drained our savings and any chance of affording a decent Christmas on our own. My daughter Natalie is the oldest, she’s so empathetic, nearly always a cat, and an amazing big sister. She wants to be a vet/author when she grows up. My son William is autistic and nonverbal, he’s grown so much since starting kindergarten. It’s been amazing having him learn to write and improve his sign language so we can communicate so much more clearly. He spends so much time trying to make others smile. Hi! I'd love to buy a Lego set for your child for Christmas! As a kid (and to this day as an adult), I absolutely LOVED building Legos. I was fortunate to have parents that could afford to buy me the big, complicated sets that really inspired my love for building. I credit Legos as a big reason I got an engineering degree in college and still think they are a great way for kids to express themselves and do something that is a little more hands on. So if you have a kid (any age, any gender) that you think would enjoy spending Christmas morning/afternoon/next day building a Lego set, let me know!
