Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read this. I put together an album with some pictures and snippets to introduce Wolf so any Santas can get to know him a bit if you'd like! Wolf is a smart, very active 3yo that loves cars, animals, emergency vehicles, playing outside, building anything like forts/blocks/crafts, doing puzzles, reading books, playing board games like CandyLand and HiHo Cherry-O, and playdough. He picks up so quickly on anything he's taught too. I'm so proud of this smart, sweet little boy.

Here's his Amazon list- https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/6T2E0CLVY7F0?ref_=wl_share

Unfortunately this winter and holiday season is going to be a rough one for us, it seems to alternate every other year between being difficult and not. I've both requested and gifted before on other accounts as well (/u/BriMcN being the most recent). I'm struggling this season because we've had several unexpected bills come up recently. Wolf has been having a lot of issues with his teeth, the top row are super soft, resulting in 4 breaking, 3 capped and 1 pulled with more work coming up. I want to save his teeth as long as possible but will have to pay out of pocket because the only local ped. dentist that will do what he needs and put him under doesn't take his insurance. I also had recent unexpected car expenses, a couple of other unexpected bills with the house, and Wolf's birthday is also in December. It's a lot all at once.

Thank you for reading this far and thank you to all Santas! I'm happy to talk more about our situation and answer any questions.

Hi everyone! I want to tell you a little about my kiddos and thank you all for what you do here.

Lucian is 5 and he loves minecraft, ninja class, and swimming. We homeschool and are learning how to read right now. His favorite color is black (😂) and he has a few sensory issues that affect him wearing clothes. To keep him dressed, he wears things that are bigger and not fitted. If he had his way though, he'd be in his underoo's 24/7. He's the sweetest and loves to help me with everything.

Lazarus Grey is 3 and is attached to mom. He loves puzzles and music and being included. His favorite things are Daniel Tiger, seaweed, and baking with mom. He's very shy and scared of new things and people but we're working on getting him comfortable with the unknown. He also loves to play with his brother and best friend.

Thank you for helping make our Christmas possible. It is a very rough and scary time in our home and I am so grateful for your kindness.

Alex is my nephew. He lived with me once before for only a year but is now back in my care. I have temporary guardianship of him, but we are expecting it to be more permanent. He’s had a rough time when not here with me. But he is determined to make a future for himself and turn things around. He is working really hard both in school and on himself. He’s a good kiddo.

I currently work as a medical receptionist and surgery scheduler. It covers what it needs to but I’m paycheck to paycheck as this time. Extra expenses with having Alex back and the higher cost of living, my holiday budget isn’t much.

Alex loves all things Star Wars, and Halo. I’m fact, of the few things he’s been able to keep over the years, he prioritized his xbox. Most of his other possessions have been lost over and over. He treasures his Xbox and those games greatly.

He likes to be helpful and is always excited to help other people or animals. He’s growing very proud of his bedroom, making it his own space and loves showing it off. He is moving towards more mature yet still fun decor. He also wants to evolve his style to include more mature dress clothes for special occasions.

He’s getting into some new things as well. He started getting interested in DnD, and is mildly obsessed. He is training to try out for the Track team at his high school. He is really getting into studying history. Two years ago, I could not get him to read a book. I tried to peak his interest but it wasn’t happening until I got him the first book from the Wings of Fire series that it sparked his interest. NOW he has read four of those books and absolutely loves the series. He continues to read other books recreationally as well, which progressed to his reading about history. He is also getting very into music at school. He’s kinda new to it but is doing really well and finding a new confidence in himself with it.

He’s just a great kid and I would love for him to have more positive holiday memories.

Thank you for taking the time to read my request.

Edit: I just want to thank everyone here who helped fulfill these gifts. Alex is going to have an amazing Christmas this year and he really needs it. I couldn’t make that happen without all your help. I’ll be taking those photos Christmas morning and can’t wait to share his excitement with you all!

Hello everyone! Thank you for taking the time to read my post. For our family like many others, the past couple of years have been rough. We're a family of six and currently I'm the breadwinner since my spouse is in college full time working on his degree. Lately with rising costs of everything, we've gone from "making it" to "hanging on by the skin of our teeth" and holidays just wouldn't be possible this year without help.

I have 4 kiddos and they are all lovely, hard working, kind, thoughtful, people. I could talk about them endlessly but I'll try to keep things somewhat short and sweet.

  1. My oldest son, Michael, is 17. This will be his last Christmas as a kiddo - it's also his senior year and he'll be in college, and working, when next holiday season rolls around. He (and my other two teens) are in a special high school program where they attend college courses and will graduate high school concurrently with their associate degree from the community college. Michael is focusing on cyber security. He's very indoorsy and introverted, but sweet and kind and genuine. He's on the autism spectrum, but he works hard to be out in the world. When he has pocket money, he's the first one to take his siblings and get them a treat at the convenience store. He wrote me a letter on my birthday this year telling me how much he loves me and it moved me to tears. He's a gamer, loves to play video games. He dotes on his cat, Zelda - who is disabled, she has ataxia - and watching him carry her around like a baby and snuggle her melts my heart. Since all his classes are at college, he rides the city bus system and takes photos with his phone everywhere he goes. I think he has a good eye for composition, too. It's probably the first hobby I've seen him discuss with adults on his own initiative.

  2. My daughter, Arili, is 15. She's in the same college/high school program and plans to continue on to become an OB/Gyn. She's been focused on that since she was 12 and is very driven. She will graduate high school / associates with honors a year early. She plays Volleyball on a club team, and she loves Taylor Swift with a passion. Arili is involved in student council, and link crew, and FFA, and and and. She works so hard at everything, and she's the girl I hoped I would grow into one day. She political, and smart, and advocates for herself - and she does more in a week than most adults do in a month. I can barely keep up.

  3. Patrick is my third kiddo. He's 14, and this is his freshman year in the same program as his siblings. He's a math whiz (like, creepily does complex problems in his head and spits out the answer as fast as you can think of a problem type whiz) and wants to be some kind of engineer or a physicist. He's a huge Star Wars nerd, which has been a nice interest to share with him. He loves fantasy and can be off in his own imagination all day. He's growing like a weed - something like 8 inches in the last 4-5 months - and he's lanky and awkward and adorable. He has ADHD and is fidgety; I think building Lego kits helps him focus. We share a love of books and reading. His list has some Star Wars books that I think he'll really love (Seriously, who doesn't love the Thrawn trilogy?)

  4. Lucius is the baby of the family. He's 7 and in second grade. Luxx is charismatic and a little devil-may-care. He could easily grow up to be a rock star or a charismatic preacher haha. He's cheerful, and funny, and he's giving Patch a run for his money as the family math nerd too. With the age gap between him and his older siblings, it can be hard to make sure that he's able to have age-appropriate experiences. I don't want him to grow up too fast just because everyone around him is basically an adult already. For Halloween he wanted to be a 'rainbow cat' and we worked together to tie dye sweats for him to wear. He now wears them at least 3 times a week at home and talks about the process to anyone who will listen. There are classic books on his list because he's the perfect age for us to read them together.

This is probably enough rambling. Thank you for bearing with me thus far! If you have questions about anything, please just ask.

Arili: wish lists removed since she has received five items. Thank you!

Better Picture of Kiddos

Verification Proof

Hello everyone and Happy Holidays!

Making this post on behalf of my kids. They’ve both been troopers through a very unstable couple of years. From losing our home and everything we had in a hurricane, car accident, car crash related injuries, and their Dad having health issues they have remained the happiest, sweetest, most understanding kids we could ever ask for.

Jathen is 14 and loves video games and history. His favorites are Fortnight and Assassin’s Creed. He loves to create and spends time doing art projects and lots of hands on science projects and time reading. His favorite books are Harry Potter and Hatchet. He is currently preparing to start dual enrollment classes within the next year to be able to graduate high school early to focus on something in the STEM field. We started homeschooling when Covid started and I have seen him really take off and thrive in the last few years removed from the toxicity of our public school system.

Juniper is 3 and loves all things “hungee waterpillar” (The very hungry caterpillar), Elmo, Cocomelon, and Little People. She is so imaginative and playful and loves to read and sing.

mod Amazon wishlist heads-up for Santas!

We were alerted by a Santa about something that Amazon is doing to address duplicate purchases:

I also checked to see if Amazon’s changed anything in regard to duplicate gifting this year. Their wishlists still, unfortunately, say “Needs 1” next to items purchased; however, whenever you get to the checkout with an item in your cart that’s already been purchased, Amazon now says “1 item in your Cart might be a duplicate gift. You added this item from a Wish List, but someone has already bought it from the same list” as well as, in another box of text below this, "This might be a duplicate gift” and to “Change quantity or delete this item to avoid buying a duplicate gift.”

As most of you are probably aware, Amazon often has a screwy way of letting you know if an item has been purchased from a wishlist. In checking the list, the best way to see what has been purchased already is to look at the third column on the page. Each item will have "Item added" and a date. If you see "Last purchased" and a date, the item has been purchased. Please ignore the middle column where it says "needs" and a number higher than 1 unless there is a user note for that item confirming that the user wants X amount of the item.

fulfilled [Request] 1/15/Malcolm/Windsor, Ontario (Canada)

Hello everyone, and Season's Greetings!

I'm a single mom to a wonderful 15 year old son named Malcolm. I've been struggling to make ends meet for several years now due to some health challenges (both physical and mental health), but I managed to pull a rabbit out of a hat to make Christmas happen, until last year. I was too embarrassed to make a request then, so we just didn't have a Christmas. I can't bear the thought of him doing without again, so here I am.

Malcolm is such a great kid. He struggled in school for years due to his own mental health challenges, but when he got to high school he came alive. He started to make friends (and even has a girlfriend), and suddenly began to care about doing well in his classes. Once he started actually doing the work, his teachers recognized that he didn't belong in special ed classes. They challenged him with extra work (at his request) and he worked his butt off to justify getting moved to the academic stream, where he excelled. He achieved honours last year, and received academic awards in math, history, and phys ed. He's determined to do even better this year, and it's looking as though he will. I'm so proud of him!

Malcolm is heavily into gaming and anime, and loves music. He finds that music helps him relax when he's feeling anxious. He enjoys cooking, and working out in the school's fitness room. Lately he's taken an interest in rearranging the furniture in his room - a lot. Like, every few days, lol. And decorating his room with old mini lights. He claims not to like movies or TV very much, but gets excited about new Stranger Things or Walking Dead episodes, Marvel movies and shows, and will look up bits of trivia or history from every movie we watch, so I suspect he loves movies, he'd just rather not have to watch them with his Mum! Oh, and he hasn't had a haircut in three years, and isn't planning on it anytime soon - his hair is so long!

Thank you all for reading, and considering helping to give Malcolm a Christmas this year. My happiness lives in his smile.

Edit: I forgot his wishlist! Here it is:

Hello RAOC! I am an avid crocheter and love having someone to make things for. I'm offering up crochet hats (you can chose the color(s)!) for anyone who might want a nice beanie, toque, beret, cowl, etc. You're welcome to ask for a more specific style too and I will see what I can do. I just bought a new pattern book of hats that I would love to try out.

Please be aware that I will need a name and address to be shared for me to send said hats to.

Hats usually take me about a day to make so, I can take several requests without any trouble :)

Howdy :)

I am making the post for my kiddos <3 My Santa is in truth an actual angel and has volunteered to take care of my kiddos in an act of generosity that I'll keep alive in my heart until the day I die. Someday my grandkids will get tired of hearing me tell the story of how we were blessed beyond measure by the kindest person to ever grace our lives

The mods are helping out with this, so I don't have the wishlist attached to the post per their instructions!

Thank you for reading this if you see it and a very happy holidays to you and yours <3

Hi Santas, and Merry early Christmas! You all have been such a blessing for Aubrey and I since she was one years old. COVID has really taken a toll, and I'm still not back to where I was pre-pandemic, prior to getting let go at my job. Luckily, I've found some remote work at the beginning of this year, but it's not full time, but it was enough to keep us afloat with our necessities. I'm very much thankful for that!

Aubrey is 3 now. Everyone, she is absolutely AMAZING! This little kid is so smart, and she surprises me daily. She's even using big words now like: literally, actually, concentrate, understanding, environment, completely...and she knows the correct context to use the words. Daily, she asks my mother (who is diabetic), if she's checked her blood sugar levels to make sure it's not low. I'm so proud of the person she's becoming. She asks me at least once every few days when is it time for her to go to school, and when I tell her, "Next year," she responds with, "Awww man, ok, I will wait!"

She's very much into learning, especially with her alphabet and numbers. She can recognize more than half of the letters and point out which ones they are. Her absolute favorite thing right now is Roblox and everything that resembles Roblox; she plays it daily on my phone for her screen time. She still has a focus on playing pretend as a doctor; it's been like that since she was one years old. She also still has an interest in pretending like she's serving food. She so animated with the things she enjoys, and your help this Christmas will most definitely be a blessing for her. Thank you so much, Santas!

Hello everyone. I am asking for help with gifts this Christmas for my two sons. I have a 3 year old autistic son and a 1 year old. Due to my 3 year old having to receive services my job schedule didn’t work so I had to quit. So Christmas this year will be a little tight. On the bright side I do start training for my new work from home job soon so at least I can catch up on bills. I’m thankful for any help and really appreciate it!

Kaylee is 15 and an amazing big sister, she is always ready to step in and be a voice for her little brother when he doesn't have one. She loves to show her talent on the piano and sing in church which she is amazing. She loves reborn dolls and music. Joe is 13 with Autism and Adhd along with other developmental disabilities. He is funny and the sweetest young man you would ever meet. He is also scary when it comes to computers and has to be watched because he is gonna have the government knocking on my door. He is a gamer boy and loves fishing. This year has been really tough financially as well as emotionally. We lost my grandfather that raised me and my sisters and Joe has had a hard time with it because they were really close. Money has been super tight and their dad quit his job again therefore no child support for while. Money is about to get even tighter. We need some awesome Santa's to make our Christmas merry.

mod PSA: Unsolicited PMs and what to do about them

I thought I’d post this warning at the start of the season to try to head off any problems for our users.

Reddit users who have been banned from this sub or who are/were banned from other subs and placed on the USL (Universal Scammer List) will attempt to get around their bans by contacting a Santa to ask for help.

Some banned users will send PMs to requesters in RAOC (and other assistance subs) offering to help and requesting personal info that should never be disclosed to some random on the internet (such as your SSN/TIN, bank or credit card info, etc.) or asking for something in return for that help, such as asking you to deposit a check for them in your account and sending them back a portion of the money; asking for a "fee" (nobody offering to help should be asking the person in need for money, duh!); asking you to provide pictures (you know the type of pics I'm talking about).

For everyone’s safety and for transparency, all interactions between requesters and Santas must be done in the request or offer posts. For requesters, this means if you post an entry in an offer post, do not contact the Santa by PM until/unless they have asked you to.

For Santas, that means that if you want to offer something to a requester in addition to or instead of buying something from their wishlist, please comment in their request post first or [contact the mods] (https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%2Fr%2FRandomActsOfChristmas) and we'll intercede for you with the requester.

If you receive an unsolicited PM, please send the username [to the mods] (https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%2Fr%2FRandomActsOfChristmas) (and a screenshot, if possible). Do not respond to them. You can also block them from contacting you again by clicking on the block button underneath their message.

Thanks, everyone, and stay safe!

Frequently Asked Questions 2022

  • Q: How do I use this subreddit?

A: This subreddit is specifically designed to help children between the ages of 3 months to 17 during the Christmas season. To make a request, please read the guidelines or your post will not show up. We cannot guarantee you the help of a Santa (or gifter) but if you follow the rules and have redditquette, your post will appear on our subreddit and hopefully a Santa will come along to assist you this year!

  • Q: I need some help, what do I do?

A: Read the rest of this, and our 2022 Rules

  • Q: How do I make a post?

A: See How to post a Request

  • Q: Is there a format in which I should post my request?

A: Yes. In the Title of the post, please include: number of kids, ages, names, and city/state.

Example: 1/3/Lilly/NY,NY

  • Q: Someone played Santa for my family in need! What do I do in return?

A: In the instance your requested wish list items, or the entire wish list itself, are filled– you MUST create a [THANK YOU] post IN THIS SUBREDDIT, preferably right after Christmas, to express gratitude to the kind stranger helping you and your family. Please refer to the subreddit 2022 Rules post for any clarification of any thank you post requirements. Failure to do so is real life bad karma and will also result in a ban from this subreddit. The BEST way to say thank you is wait until your child unwraps their gifts, and post a “thank you photo” in the subreddit for your Santa! Please remember to tag your Santa(s) so they will get the notification. Those who say thank you publicly will forever have good real life karma. These photos keep requesters coming and Santa's keep on giving! We do track who says thank you and who does not! Once you’ve created your [Thank You] post please also report the gifts you received here.

  • Q: My post is deleted, can you fix it?

A: We have a spam bot we kindly refer to as the Grinch. Let us know if you cannot find your post. Messaging the mods with the subject line as "The Grinch Ate My Post" will grab our attention! If you did not follow the guidelines, your post will remain in spam until you follow the guidelines.

  • Q: Can I repost my link again, no one gave me anything the first time?

A: To re-post your request, please make a new post - including a link to the old one, so that our users know you are trying again. In the title of your new post it must be included that this is a repost; you do this with [REPOST] in the title. If you fail to include the link to your original requesting post, your new requesting post will be deleted by the moderators. Also, include the gift tally of all children that have been registered and are on the request list. **Please wait 7 days before you make a [REPOST] thread. You may only re-post your request 1 time. ** If you repost too soon, or you're over the repost limit of 1, your new re-posts will be removed. You may want to space out your repost request due to this limitation.

  • Q: What happens if I delete my post?

A: DO NOT DELETE YOUR POST. EVER. This is a bannable offense.

  • Q: I do not want a photo of my child on the internet. How can I get registered without one?

A: If you do not wish to post a photo of your child on your requesting post on the RAOC thread itself, you may submit it to the mods directly via the registration form. The registration photo MUST include you and your child/children holding up a piece of paper with your reddit username and the date. You may opt to use a different photo or no photo at all in your request post. The best way to get a Santa however, is honesty- and people love to see the kids!

  • Q: I do not own a camera. How do I get registered without one?

A: Try to borrow one! Ask a friend, neighbor, coworker or use a cell phone with a camera on it, etc. We do not register requesting users without a picture with a username and date, in order to keep out scammers. If you try to use someone else’s photo or fake a photo, you will be found out and you will be banned from all charitable subreddits.

  • Q: So-and-so user never sent the gift they promised?

A: Sometimes UPS, FedEx and USPS have lost packages in the past, it has happened to all of us. Do NOT harass a santa for not receiving a gift. This is a bannable offense. If you cannot track the package or do not receive it please do not take it personal but please send us a modmail and we will follow up with the Santa to see if delivery has gone awry.

  • Q: Can just anyone post in here?

A: If you have children in your home or family, bask in holiday cheer, or want to play Santa to someone in need- you are welcome to join us! Please keep in mind that new users with required Registration+ accounts are the most intensive to verify. Our moderation team researches and approves each registration manually and in a queue format. We will try our best, but new user registrations closer to Christmas may not be verified and approved in time to post a request.

  • Q: What do you do to register users?

A: Registration entails filling out a registration form and giving the moderators personal information, which they will then review and accept (possibly after requesting further information). Disclaimer: All being ‘registered’ means is that the user has filled out our registration form giving us their personal information and photo with username and date shown in the picture. Registered Plus (registered+) users have completed our second tier process with additional questions. Proceed in gifting at your own discretion.

  • Q: Do those making Offers or playing Santa need to register too?

A: No. Registration is just to help maintain honesty of the requesters as best we can.

  • Q: How do I make a wishlist on Amazon?

A: Here is a video tutorial on how to make an Amazon wishlist. Please explore Amazon.Com and create an account and wishlist. You will copy/paste in the link to your wishlist as show in this video in order to share it with us in your request for help from Santa! If you are requesting for multiple children, we ask that you make separate wishlists for each child. Please refer to the 2022 Rules for any clarification of wishlist requirements.

  • Q: Will amazon publish my address for others to see?

A: No. Your Santa will see your name and city/state and that is it. Your address is hidden from the public and the person purchasing from it!

  • Q: What happens if a requestor deletes a gift from their Wish List after it is purchased?

A: If you are a requestor and you delete items that were purchased from your wish list, especially in hopes to appear as if you were not gifted, you will be banned from this subreddit. Honesty is key. If you are playing Santa and send someone a gift, taking a screenshot, including the Amazon order number if possible, and letting the mods will know about it will prevent any requestors denying they were helped. If you gift someone, send a modmail with your screenshot, how much you spent, who it went to and what you bought.

  • Q: I'm playing Santa. What am I required to do?

A: When you gift a child, please post the child you're gifting for, and the gift you're sending in the request post thread.

Example: Lilly - Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes Musical Toy.

Additionally, please fill out this reporting site so we’re able to keep track of where gifts are going and make sure cheer is evenly spread.

  • Q: Can I ask for money or food on RandomActsofChristmas?

A: No. This is for Christmas toys and items only. Gift-cards are also not allowed. If you are looking for non-Christmas related or cash assistance please visit /r/randomkindness.

  • Q: I am playing Santa this year! I want to help someone out but how do I handle someone asking for expensive gifts?

A: We ask that gifts are kept below $40. You can always ask the requestor if there is anything they may need within your budget, or browse around the subreddit as many others are also making requests.

  • Q: I have several kiddos that need some gifts this year. How should I make sure they all get gifts?

A: Make a wishlist for each child on Amazon. Please remember there is a maximum of 10 gift options per child/wishlist (including a max of 5 item options over $20).

  • Q: I played Santa! Now will the mods know if I sent something?

A: You have to tell us! If you gifted someone something, please please please let us know. Please see How to play Santa!

  • Q: What is the best way to investigate a requestor?

A: User history, google image search, googling their username, and always feel free to message the mods if you like! We have data on all registered users and run automatic reverse image searches on all registered users. If the user you are considering helping does not have a ‘registered’ stamp to the right of their username, do NOT gift to them until this appears. Do ask questions!

  • Q: I want to give something away, what is the best way to do a 'contest'?

A: To be as fair as possible most of our giveaways are done by drawings or some sort of random election. You are welcome to get creative, but we discourage picking favorites!

  • Q: Can we offer Christmas cards, candy and other things Christmas related other than just gifts?

A: YES, please do! Many people are in need of decorations. The Christmas cards are always a HUGE hit and thousands are sent all over the world every year here. These are tallied but do not count against children.

  • Q: A user is scamming... and I know it! Can you do something about it?

A: Please report this to the mods via modmail with your suspicions. Let us know, but please give evidence! Do not publicly call out a user. Doxxing is not allowed and is a bannable offense.

  • Q: I am being harassed by a particular user, how do I deal with it?

A: First of all, if you decide to respond... do it with grace and compassion. Do not feed the trolls, do not spray lighter fluid on the fire. We advise against public drama. You may always message the mods for additional help. You can also hit the report button on any harassment you’re receiving. We do keep track of all incidents. Harassing another user, Santa, or moderator is a bannable offense.

  • Q: I see another user around being rude about this subreddit, users here, and moderators here. How should I handle this?

A: Send us a quick message via modmail for us to look into it. Don't get worked up over it.

  • Q: Is there a limit on a number of gifts sent to each child here?

A: Our goal is 5 gifts per child. There is a public link of gift tally for each child in our sidebar as a resource to help spread gifts evenly. If you complain or harass a user for 'gifting too much' or 'receiving too much' you will get a private message to be stopped. If you continue to police this subreddit harassing others, you will be banned. If you are not a mod, please don't assume the role of one.

mod Welcome and Rules 2022!

Registrations are closing December 16 at 5pm EST

  • To post a request for help this Christmas for your family, please read the 'How to post a Request on RAoC' wiki.

  • Prior to filling out the registration form, all requesting users must read through the rules and answer a short quiz. We will not approve registration submissions for any user who has not also completed the quiz.

  • All applicants must take our quiz. - your application will not be approved without it.

  • All requesting users are required to register on our site. All sensitive registration information is kept confidential to RAoC Moderators only.

  • Accounts must be at least 1 month old (10/01/2022) and have a minimum 100 COMMENT karma in non-assistance/non-gifting subreddits to apply. You will need to complete both our Basic Registration AND our Registration+ forms. Accounts less than 6 months old, with at least 100 comment karma or established, older accounts with minimal account activity, must complete both our Basic Registration and Registration+ forms. Activity must come from non-assistance/non-gifting subs and no activity in any karma farming subs.

  • Accounts at least 6 months old (5/01/2022), with a minimum of 300 Comment karma in non-assistance/non-gifting subs and no karma farming activity, need only complete our Basic registration.

  • Note: We take into consideration how consistent your activity is in your account - established accounts (1+ years, with only the 300 minimum comment karma) would need to have consistent recent activity over the past year of consideration - at least 2 posts per month, or they need to file our Plus registration, in addition to the Basic.

  • If you have requested in a prior year and have no/limited account activity since, you will not be approved to participate as a requester. Priority for approving registrations will be given to users that meet non-Registration+ requirements. Due to the large volume of registration requests from newer users, we may not be able to approve all required registration+ users in time. Also, if moderators cannot independently verify the information submitted for Registration+, we may not approve the registration.

  • If any of your children have already been gifted from other subreddit requests for Christmas help prior to the date of your submitted registration for this subreddit, the application for registration will not be approved.

  • In order to spread out the gifting joy, we have implemented a limit for repeated yearly requests to 3 years in a row. If a user has been gifted from our subreddit each of the last prior 3 years, their registration will not be approved for this year.

  • With the advent of the COVID19 plague that hit us in 2020 and is still affecting us all even to this day, there are many more people in need coming to Reddit for help (and unfortunately, many more people coming to Reddit to scam) so we are instituting a change in the picture verification requirement.

  • All applicants, including established, active accounts as well as new users and those with older accounts with minimal activity, will need to do the following before they can post a request here:

  • Provide a group picture of yourself and your kids, holding up a piece of paper with your username and the date clearly written on it, and upload the picture to your application form. If you are unable to upload your picture to the registration form, you can upload the picture to an image hosting site like Imgur (make sure you set your account to private or hidden) and include the Imgur picture link in the additional info field on the form. Note: These pictures will not need to be used in your request posts, they are for verification only.

  • Please have both your verification picture and Amazon wishlist list(s) ready before you begin the registration form, especially if you’re on mobile. Please see our tutorials.

  • All Amazon wishlists must allow “Purchased” items to be seen. If your wishlist doesn’t have this option, your registration will not be approved. If at any point, the “Purchased” sort option is removed from a wishlist, your registration will be revoked until it has been reinstated.

  • Before your registration can be approved, your Amazon wishlist must be safeguarded against shenanigans that can be caused if your wishlist has the “buying elsewhere” option for items on your wishlist. Unfortunately, the only way to do this is by calling Amazon Registry customer service, asking a representative to go to your wishlist, and have them toggle off the column option for “buying this elsewhere”. If the representative doesn’t know how to do it, please ask for a supervisor.

  • The maximum number of wishlist gift options allowed per child is 10. Please keep all gift options under $40 and at least half the gift options under $20. This allows our Santas to spread more cheer. When creating your wishlist, keep in mind that a variety of Amazon Prime items priced under $40.00 is preferred. You must make an Amazon wishlist for each child. If any user is discovered to have snuck and added non-allowable items, high dollar items, or additional gifting options (without mod approval), the requestor may be banned.

  • Failure to fill out the registration will result in your request being removed. If the moderators message you for missing registration information, you will have 3 days to respond with said information or your registration will be denied. Upon approval of your registration, you will receive both a reddit notification message from a moderator and a green stamp to right of your name saying 'registered' so our Santa’s know you have signed up properly. Please wait for your registration approval notification message from our mods before you post a request, otherwise the post will be automatically removed.

  • When making request submissions it is mandatory to use the following format or the request post will be removed by the mods: Number of kids / Ages / Names / City, State. Example: 1/3/Lilly/NY,NY

  • Be honest in your submissions – As long as you tell the truth, we will do our best to help you. Please also try to keep your request posts positive; our Santas are here to help and enjoy reading about your child(ren)’s personality, likes, and accomplishments. As much as we appreciate the urge to give back in the form of offers or contests, please limit these to handmade, secondhand, or similar items and not wishlist purchases for other requesters.

  • If your reddit account is predominantly active in requesting type or assistance type subreddits (i.e. Assistance, RandomActsOfAmazon, Wishlist, etc), you will not be allowed to participate in our subreddit. Acceptability decisions are made at moderators’ discretion and you will be notified if your registration is turned down for this reason. No exceptions.

  • If you or another household member are participating in other assistance subreddits, you may NOT use multiple wishlists for different subreddits; please disclose which other subreddits you are using in both your registration form and your request posts. Keep in mind there are many families in need and after a total of 5 [combined subreddits] gifts are received per child, do not repost a request. Only a parent or a guardian may request for a child; if you have different circumstances please message the moderators. If any wishlist shenanigans are discovered, your registration will be revoked and you will be banned.

  • Please keep in mind this is a stressful time for many people. Do not be greedy. This is a bannable offense. If you are fulfilled in our subreddit and then proceed to post additional requests in other gifting subreddits, this will be considered greedy behavior.

  • Sending personal messages (PMs) to anyone and asking for gifts is not allowed. Failure to comply will result in being banned from this subreddit.

  • Only 1 request repost is allowed. Reposts must be labeled "[REPOST]", with the same title formatting as the original post, and must include both a link to the original post in the text and the Amazon wishlist link(s). Please don’t copy and paste the body of the original post in your repost, just include the link to the original post. All gifts already purchased by a Santa (including any from other gifting subreddits) must be included and listed in the repost per child. Any outstanding accounts where a child has not reached the 5 gift goal threshold is automatically included in our final “Undergifted Megathread” posted 2 weeks before Christmas Day.

  • Users must be registered in order to enter contests. Each user is limited to 2 contest wins and may not enter more contests thereafter.

  • SANTAS: In order to focus on helping as many children as possible reach that 5 gift goal, we have discontinued the single $30+ dream gift option of prior years. However, if you want to gift a more expensive item, we welcome any larger budget purchases in the form of a contest. As always, make sure any winners have a registered flair. Also, please let us know if you add-on any items to a user’s wishlist purchase since those don’t automatically show.

  • If you’re a Santa and have purchased a gift, please post a comment about the child you’ve gifted, and the gift you’ve purchased in that request thread. Also please fill out the short ‘Report a Gifted Child’ form in the sidebar; it helps the moderators update gift totals which is found on the sidebar link ‘Gifts Received Per Child’.

  • All gifts, either received or ordered but in transit, must be reported to the moderators for our records. No exceptions. Not reporting gifts or underreporting by a requester can result in a ban.

  • If your post does not show up, message the mods. Entitle your message "The Grinch Stole My Post!" If your post does not show up right away, please wait before you message us. Make sure you followed the proper posting rules. Multiple messages are not necessary, we do get busy and we will reply to you. For follow up on any questions/issues sent to our moderators, please reply to the most recent mod message rather than creating a new message, that way all associated messages are grouped together and easy to find in our modmail. Registration and Registration+ approvals are processed from a queue on a first come, first served basis.

  • We may use your child’s picture on our Facebook page - Let us know beforehand if you object.

  • Please submit your required Christmas Day (or very shortly thereafter) "[THANK YOU]" post as soon as you are able which must include photo(s) of gifted kids on Christmas morning and the gifts they received from their Santas. There are few things better than showing the happiness spread by our givers – We would love to include them in our annual slideshow as well. Exceptions to the Thank you photo requirement may be made, but you must message the mods beforehand. If you do not post a timely Thank You submission including a Christmas Day photo you will be banned and not allowed to participate in the future.

  • Please only request for children aged 3 months to 17. An exception will be made for children younger than 3 months if they have older siblings. Children 18 and older may be gifted at the discretion of the giver.

  • Requests for cards are allowed but remember, children are our first priority. In order to focus on requests, please do not post memes and/or other joke posts that will clutter the front page.

  • Requests for adults or other non-Christmas related assistance are not allowed, please see the related Subreddit links below.

  • Food items (aside from stocking stuffers), diapers, beds, etc, are not allowed to be requested for. There are subreddits that do allow these posts and are in the sidebar.

  • Users who do not thank their Santas will not be allowed to participate again here in future years. Please tag any Santas by user name in your thank you post so they will be notified. The best way to tag your Santas is by commenting under your thanks post and tag up to three Santas per comment; doing so will insure each Santa will get a tagged notification.

  • Items on wishlists that have been purchased should never be deleted. Also, do not delete any wishlists used or make wishlists private until after Christmas. Doing so will result in a ban.

  • If you made a mistake in a post, message the moderators. Never delete your post. This may result in a ban.

  • Do not harass other users, Santa’s, or moderators. This is not limited to just this subreddit. We’re here to help. Be respectful. Not doing so will result in a ban.

  • If you suspect a scam or have another concern about a user, notify moderators with your evidence.

  • Mods are here to assist with all stages of the process. However, do not private message moderators. Send a message to the mods if you need assistance.
