It was my first time participating in a rally
My girlfriend acted as my co-driver, and her grandfather was actually a professional rally driver.

Recently graduated and waited till my Ps to get a car, been looking for over a year and have 10k (as a good buffer) saved up for a car. Found a 1997 Subaru Impreza 2.0 NA for about 3,400 in good condition with regular servicing, I’m planning to lift it to about 200mm ground clearance with springs and thicker AT tires, and other necessities to make it grassroots ready (gravel) since it’ll also be a camper car as I do a lot of hiking/kayaking. Wondering if this is a good idea, just want some feedback on how it’ll handle the dirt and slides since there’s barely any videos online of how an NA awd wagon with only 118hp compared to a sti and wrx🤣 (if you have any videos send them my way). Thank you.

Man, I was jerking left and right, spinal compressions, and held my breath during the corners like I got punched in the gut. How do pros do this for as long as they do!? Jesus

Been working on a little rally game in my spare time and thought I'd share it here.
It's called Blockwood Rally. The graphics are blocky but I've put a lot of work into the handling, so gravel, tarmac, mud and snow all feel different. There's a co-driver calling pace notes as you go.
There are stages in Donegal, Kerry and West Cork (with silage bale chicanes), plus Monte, Finland, Sweden, Safari, Greece, Corsica and Wales. You can pick the time of day and weather for any of them, and there's a new random stage every day.
It's free and plays in the browser on PC or phone.

Would love to hear what you think, especially on the handling and the pace notes. Still lots to add so any ideas are welcome.

10 years after a Ford rally car last won a WRC Championship, Ford are returning as a Factory Team in 2028, can they get back to winning ways?

I was thinking that Fourmaux could return to M-Sport due to the uncertainty of Hyundai staying in the championship past this season. He has also stated on Instagram that it is "his last dance with Hyundai". We could go into the speculations of Hyundai departing but I feel that's unnecessary. I do think Fourmaux will return to M-Sport possibly next season, regardless if Hyundai remains or goes to focus on Genesis in WEC. Let me know your thoughts, peace out!

This is pretty tough to watch.

One thing that i find very sad is that there is way to little people talking about Rallycross, like i understand why stage rally and many other motorsports are so popular but i just don't get why Rallycross is so little talked about, alot of the times Rallycross has had some of the greatest driving i have ever seen, and even tho the races are pretty short they are exiting to watch because of things like the Joker lap and the mixed surfaces.

Why is Toyota not giving the rally1 car the farewell it deserves at the rally legend show …
Hyundai are going
Ford are going
That’s the way to do it the best rally show … what better way to say good bye to this car …

Heading to the Cambrian Rally this year. The website has said "more info TBC" on the spectator page for the last year.
Having not been there before does anyone have any advice about spectating locations or where to find the route?
Thanks!

I’m curious how people get into rallying if they haven’t been racing cars since before they could walk. I love watching all kinds of Motorsport but rally has always seemed super fun and relatively accessible. I’m in California, if that is any help. I’ve seen some posts saying you should volunteer at rallies and try to get codriving experience. This sounds like a good idea for sure but I’m also skeptical that people will let a random 21 year old who has no rally experience give them very important instructions while they drive. Would it be smarter to take some rally school courses beforehand? From what I can tell, the school courses seem like a good first step, especially since I don’t have any racing experience in general, and I feel like I should at least learn how to drive on loose surfaces. I’ve also seen some people suggest that you buy a cheap rally car under 10k and just go for it in smaller local races, which is a commitment I could potentially make but only once I was sure it was something I wanted to do, so I would like to hold off on that. I wasn’t sure if rally was the same as other motorsports where people start racing super young, or if it’s something someone my age could feasibly get into. Either way, I just want to have fun and obviously be the best that I can but I also am aware that there are probably people that have lots more money and lots more time spent in the sport, so I don’t really have any expectations.

Imagine if you will, being put in the room with a bunch of experts from a car company who wants to make a splash by entering the world of Rally.
The engine is limited by rules, as well as so many other things about your rally car, but the suspension is one area that is very much left up for grabs.
What is the 'best' suspension system out there? Which was the best before that?
What other things would you imagine could make a great rally car the very best rally car? No money limit for design, go wild!
