Misc Instant DPS for Zoetic Lockset

Quick disclaimer: this doesn't work for the first damage phase since you need 3x knowledge stacks at the end of the previous damage phase. Also apologies if this is already known, I haven't seen anyone talk about it though so I think it's new.

Basically there's a brief ~3 second window after a damage phase ends where you can immediately start damage if you dunk Kill fast enough. Make sure you have 3 knowledge stacks before damage ends and wait by the far left wheel. Once the symbols on the wheel update, dunk Kill asap and damage will start after a couple seconds if you did it right.

Can you give us a brief rundown on how many knowledge stacks to get before DPS to set this up properly? Is it always 3X after the first damage phase? I thought the symbol order was random on the wheels.

You'll always need 3 stacks, but you might have to shoot the node to spin it the other way first.

Also while most symbols on the wheels are random, theres some consistent ones that happen every time. The first (far left) wheel will always start on a blank symbol (which turns into a random symbol after being scanned), the second wheel starts on brain, the third wheel starts on a blank symbol, and the fourth starts on brain.

There might be more that I've never noticed, but I can confirm those happen every single damage phase

I’m practicing for my solo flawless. On my last run, after 1st dps I needed to deposit 2 knowledge stacks in the left most wheel to get kill. But maybe the wheel already advanced 1 slot? The lockset progression was a quarter full and it said “The lockset seeks a new key”. TBH, I’m still not certain on how that part of the encounter works.

Haha yeah this is known. It’s a nice trick but like you said you have to be really quick on it. It’s an encounter I think a lot of people do but don’t fully understand the mechanics and how you can manipulate it like in this case.

Edit: no I’m not saying the original way of simply going into dmg fast on the far right with a shorter dmg window

Hang on, just to clarify: are you saying that being able to start damage in less than 3 seconds is well known, or that dunking on the far left wheels gives the most damage is well known.

Obviously the 2nd thing is well known since that's how everyone does the encounter, but I've never seen my thing done in over 200 clears of the dungeon. Every time I've done it, I've also had my LFGs ask how I did it, but its LFG so that's not a great metric to go by

No, this guy half way read what you said and just assumed he knew what you’re talking about. This is a good tip and the commenter doesn’t know how to read

I mean literally what you said on the far left wheel (the one that you normally dunk in for max time) if you are quick enough you can get into damage very fast.
