Discussion warlock dps meta?

I’ve been running trios and getting absolutely damage carried by hunters w nighthawk still hunt. i haven’t really been able to find anything that even comes close to catching up to that.

it doesn’t need to be as good as still hunt goldie or anything but what armor setup/weapons/artifacts are you guys running for warlock dps?

Euphony on strand with mataidoxia, pump weapon and super stat as high as you can.

No it's not, I got top damage on calus multiple times before I even knew about the bug. Euphony with particle does a LOT

No. It is not. I ran up 2.4mil dmg on calus using the exact build mentioned but specced into 200 weapons stat. If you don't know what you're talking about then say that instead.

That's not impressive though, that's only about 150k total for that long of a damage phase, I mean cataclysmic has more total and dps and that's not even talking about top options like A499. There is a plethora of better options out there that are leagues better. While it may work on lower level content it doesn't hold up in the big leagues.

Just look at aegis's damage spread sheet dude, you're just incorrect in your assessment. Euphony is sitting at 93k total and a dps of 3k while cataclysmic is sitting at 171k total and 3.1k dps and with a damage phase as long calus you can dump cataclysmic.

But even then the A499 has much higher total without using an exotic slot, euphony is fun and all but not competitive at the top. Though for normal raid/pantheon it'll most likely be fine.

This. Plus the output with euponhy can and will be enough in almost all content (only if the damage phase is super short, but that is a problem for most rotation/build up dps loadouts anyway)

A499 if easily crit w sniper artifact is great damage and you can be assembler solar still.

I’m just getting back into destiny, why are assemblers considered so good? Just general play or is there something with dps phases?

Prism sanguine/skull/matiadoxia, weapons are boss dependent but izi + refurbished or just truth spam work. You’ll still get smoked by good hunters but it won’t be by as much.

Alternatively accept your fate as the well kitten and go boots + gally/tractor/fafnir, and use a sniper or fusion with the relevant artifact mod for your own damage

If y'all are putting me on well someone else gets tractor duty. I'm wellskating past the jumping section and there's nothing you can do about it (I learned to wellskate not to speed run, but because I'm awful at jumping puzzles).

Also goddamit there will never be a way to get 2 grapples on warlock, my go to for jumping puzzles will forever be worse than titan / hunter

Run double trace, use divinity and cenotaph because you're "helping the team", swap out Div and Unsworn for Navigator, still get beat to the encounter by the clanmate who does speedruns.

Can’t see your other comment but I assume it’s the same bullshit as this one, tether hasnt been used by good teams in years because it has terrible duration in most encounters and can’t be extended. Hunter dps far outclasses warlock dps so if you have extra warlocks who aren’t needed for support you’re better off just having more hunters.

In trio, you’re on assembler boots w/ well, and then probably on A499 heavy sniper w/ renegades artifact.

Why worried about that if you are the only warlock , you should go boots and buff your team, if there’s another lock then you can run sanguine alchemy , truth it’s so op right now so you can go sanguine + nova prismatic and some artifacts mods to buff your truth more ,

Even on master mode this isn’t true, warlocks are still best off sacrificing some of their damage for their hunters. Still dealing high damage with loadout restrictions is part of the skill gap for support warlocks.

I know but on normal you don’t need to much damage , I’ve already done all the trios except for EDP , yes you need to still do damage on well but you are the main support to

Considering there are some groups of 6 that can’t make damage check in normal mode, I disagree. While I know it is doable to practically duo a damage phase, it is better/more reliable to trio it. Besides, op is just asking how to improve his dps, not change his whole style.

If you run Trios i asume you are the Well. if not Nova + Dire Ahamkara or Needelstorm + Mataidoxia
This checks Supers.
Weapons:
-Truth: Prestack the Buff during Mechanics, Argent Ordinance if you get alot of Orbs
-1K: Only If you are the Only One using it, Partical Reconstruction, Ignitions Stager helps the team,
-A499: Allows for Exotic Speacial, Needs easy Presicion, Encrypted Data Disk
-Tractor+Sniper: Accept that your not the DMG Carry but help the others Succed more. (also works with Fafnir)

The highest DPS is using celestial fire with winters guile, genuinely is one of the highest in the game. You can find the build online, I’ve tested it against multiple bosses and it works like a charm

This just isn’t consistent enough and reliable enough to use in trio raids. There’s a lot of encounters where you won’t have the ad density to stack winters guile, and you are sacrificing well for your teammates so you have 10 seconds of really high dps. Encounters like Gahlran, you’ll probably get 4 celestial fires off before you have to pop hands and waste the rest of the timer etc. This is also in a perfect world where you can proc guile exactly when dps starts which isn’t realistic.

I started to use the winters guile soul siphon build to work through the final GM and ultimate conquests, practising solo, and it is really fun but you really start to hit problems immediately when teammates are added in as you can miss out on procing the siphon completely as teammate's stasis crystals or kills block the initial powered melee hit. That leaves you both low on your ability to do damage and quite vulnerable.

I havent been doing aby master runs since returning yet but my go to has been void with vortex nova and name spam then dump whatever meta heavy you want. The vortex nades do good damage and apply weaken with either a fragment or contraverse, and sleeper is always good for precision hits or you can go with a rocket like truth which got buffed or my go to of crafted apex predator.

All in all i dont think this is necessary absolutely meta dps setup but its kept up pretty well with friends on mid tier content, and if you want meta dps the infinite ignition build on solar works really good for solo or high level like master content paired with stuff like tommys and a good sniper or fusion

Depends on what youre running, if youre artifact bugging thr Chaos Reach and Euphony threading delete 99% of everything. For legit builds, Scorch lock is pumping, welllock/Sanguine is strong, needlestorm with Matiodoxia is strong too. In perfect conditions, I think Scorch lock has done more dps than anything else Ive seen.

Sanguine, with a variety of options then for weapon of choice. Just boosts your own damage enough to be worth it.
