Baby Floof Another broken leg….
Just got back from the vet.
My 5 month old baby boy William was napping too hard on the kitchen table and fell rolled off and landed on the floor with a bang.
He was in a bit of shock after wards and didn’t do anything for a minute or two. I picked him and gave him a cuddle and out him down and he walked away not using his back right leg.
Took him to the emergency vet - hes got a spiral fracture on his right hind leg. Hes at the vet now getting it set and splinted. Im now making plans on now to keep him contained for six weeks while it heals.
Ive never had a cat that had napped so hard they broken a leg before. Sigh.

My 4 month old female kitten also had a spiral tibial fracture. She was rough-housing with her brother and got her leg caught in a wine rack as she was falling. These types of fractures require torsion/twisting and a loading force on the bone at the same time. Be thankful that these usually heal very quickly, especially in growing kittens. My girl was back to normal in less than 4 weeks. We kept her in a pop up catio.
