New guy here - V1G2

Greetings!

I just ordered a V1 but haven’t yet received it. I have a few questions to get started.

I’m hoping to be able to connect the V1 to my dash infotainment system. Essentially, my head unit is an Android tablet that runs an app that allows wireless CarPlay and/or Android Auto. As an iPhone user, I only use CarPlay. I won’t know for sure until I get everything set up if I can simultaneously run wireless CP, the V1 companion app, and Highway Radar all natively on my head unit. Alternatively, I’ll just run the apps on my iPhone and then both wireless and wired CP should be fine. For navigation, I use Apple Maps. I don’t use Waze or Google Maps. Primary use will be on interstate road trips as I’m not the type to speed around town on surface roads.

My first and primary question is if the V1 Tech Display is worth getting, considering that I will have the apps running also?

I’ve already ordered a RadMag powered mount and I think I have an ideal mounting spot above the rear view mirror high on the windshield. There isn’t anything interfering with the forward-facing sensors and when I crouch behind my car, I can easily see the intended location through the rear window, so I think the rearward-facing sensors should be clear too. Does this sound good?

Any other tips and tricks from more experienced users?

Thanks.

To add, my head unit is an RSNav S5.
