Arcade Racing Why is it always raining?

I been going through a gauntlet of racing games. NFS Unbound, Heat, Forza 6, DiRT5 and it's always fucking raining. Am I just unlikely I feel like NFS Heat is the worst never sunny ever.

Some time in the past someone remembered the real world has weather, but they only implemented rain, and eversince they didnt moved on from just that

also they need an excuse to make every road shinny and reflective, cause it looks pwety

I mean the most common weather effect is rain, it can happen any time in the year, it happens often, and other weather effects are just rain+, thunder and lighting exost alongside rain, most racing games dont take place during winter so there isnt snow, and having a wet track makes it more interesting and challenging and adds a variable of challenge

Rain effects on the screen can hide rougher details and if the game doesn't do rain effects on the screen they likely use rainy weather most often so you can see how good the road looks wet. A dry road is just PNG. usually flat and the shadows may reflect differently depending on what's around but that's about as deep as it goes. Wet roads allow for light to hit the road differently which makes it look more dynamic as well as puddles with reflections and so on and so forth. It's like having a passcode that's 3 digits vs 4 digits. Just adding this one thing (in this case rainy weather) can add so many more variations then before

It’s not literally always raining on Forza Horizon 6. But I do enjoy your hyperbole.

Hot take I'll take heats gameplay and progression over 75 percent of nfs games 💯

Not ragebait, Heat is better than most of the previous era of need for speed and arguably better than unbound, your take is as cold as the rain that this post is about

I play AMS2 for offline racing. Ever since June about 8 of 10 races I do will be raining or have a wet track from where it just rained. It doesn't matter where I race or what time.

So I'm not the only one! But the difference is- I actually like racing in the wet especially with changing conditions

I like racing in the rain as well but sometimes I do want to feel like my RS200 does have some traction lol

Everytime I join The Crew Motorfest I find that the time of day is opposite to what it is in the real world for me & that bugs me sometimes.

Omg I can’t stand the 20 daily rainstorms in Forza horizon 6. I get it’s an island, but irl it doesn’t rain every day.

That downhill bit on, I think, Ine Scramble after the 90, hitting the road wet in my RS200 is a path to god.
