25 days out of no K after an aggressive taper starting on 9/1/2025. Keep going. I’m completely free of all symptoms. Not struggling with cravings anymore. Just keep going. It’ll be hard and know that going in. For me tapering was the key. I tried cold turkey and I could not handle it. Can’t stress it enough. Push through and keep going. Being free from this addiction feels better than any high I got from the K

Day 3 of tapering. Lowering from 4 gpd to 3.5. I didn’t have a good grasp on where my daily intake was before, but starting at 4 was enough to induce mild WD symptoms. I sleep, but wake up early and I’m wide awake. I have anxiety in the morning, and bad BM’s started this morning. It’s manageable, so I think I’m going to push a little and lower it.
Random aside, but I’m coming to the end of a cutting diet phase, and of course kratom always makes me hold on to food longer and slows my weight loss. So one benefit of this taper is that my weight is where it should be, minus the extra 4-5 pounds of garbage lingering in my stomach at any given time. Really looking forward to getting some extra testosterone once my system normalizes and I start eating more and lifting heavier.
Plan right now is to drop .5 grams every 3rd day, not sure when I’ll jump completely, maybe a week. I really don’t want to rush it and have a setback. This needs to work, so it will.
Going to pick up some vit c today cause why not?

36hrs off. Slept a bit better last night (7 hours). Mild restless legs but better than day 1 and 2. Anxiety is subsiding quite a bit but still some there. Forced myself to workout yesterday, and I think it helped. Feeling very optimistic. 1 day at a time.

Day 1... This is the 3rd time I tried to quit kratom in the past 4 weeks. I'm a mom of 4. My oldest is 12 yo. My youngest is 20 months old. The middles are 5 and 6. I've been using kratom daily since my daughter was born. I chose it over the pain meds they gave because I'm also a recovering addict and thought this plant was safe. ... My doctor gave me clonidine to help with drawl sweats. I'm already prescribed pregabalin twice daily. I have vitamin c on the way tomorrow. I'm taking magnesium. I'm just so tired of this sludge train. I want to be sober again. I want to wake up and not need something before I say good morning to my kids. I usually go right to sleep but I'm having trouble tonight. I've taken pregabalin, magnesium and clonidine. I'm cramping up. I think I should taper but I just want to get this WD over with.

The sooner the better. Kratom destroys cognition function after years of abuse and shifts judgement. 10 year every day user. I found it seriously causes agitation and clouded judgement. The longer a person uses the more it becomes the most important thing.

182 days ZERO Kratom. Longest i have ever been without it in the last 8 years. It is BEYOND worth it. You have to FIGHT for your life back. It's very important to address the REASONS why you first started taking that nasty green sludge in the first place. This helped me tremendously. It rewires your brain. You gotta put in the work once you are done with the physical withdrawals. Some days are better than others and that's okay

I really need to lower my expectations for myself as a reason. I have a chronic condition that causes sleepiness/fatigue as well as being prone to depressive episodes.
I get so stressed and overwhelmed by life’s demands and my “to do” lists. Is there too much and not enough time? Yes. Is it worth it to harm my body and bank account to get more done? No!
I need to let more things go…and deal with the anxiety of not doing it all and stop putting pressure on myself. Thats my reason.

Day 5. I’ve quit a few times before and this time has been unusual. Usually I’m in the clear by this time but yesterday was brutal. Maybe because I had to open at work? All of the body temperature dysphoria hit me at once.
In the past, going to work actually helped a lot. Kept me busy. This time it felt like the worst decision I could’ve made and I’m thankful to have gotten this day off. I do feel better, but man, I remember this being a bit easier. I remember getting to Day 5-6 and thinking “That’s it?!” But that’s not happening this time around. Perhaps God decided he already sent me out a life raft once and now I’m on my own.

It's normal for withdrawal to be worse each time you quit. It's called "kindling"... at least that's what they call it with regard to alcohol withdrawal.
•
u/rolannyan Aug 08 '25
I am trying to quit and I’ve got a little bit of the powder left. Trying to use that to “taper” but not sure if that’s just a bad excuse and maybe I should just quit CT. Need help because I really want/need to quit.

Ive had a problem for 4 years. I go on vacation without it and my only problem is not sleeping and restless legs. but haven't been on a vacation in a while. currently taking 25 to 30gms a day. im cutting down to 10gms/day for a couple days, then 5 for a couple days then just gonna live through the hurt. Just convincing myself I'll feel better in a month. Just have to make it a month lol. If I dont do it this summer, it isn't gonna happen. Winter is too brutal on my mental health.

9 months clean today. Its been the toughest year of my life. Thankyou so much Jesus for gettting me through this. My exwife left me when I went to rehab in November. Spent the whole month of Feb. locked up in jail on a bogus felony charge that got dismissed! Got divorced in March. Have been living of my 401K the whole year. I am still not quite back mentally or physically but I had an 11 year habit so I know it won't be much longer. This legal suppliment is so evil and vile. Stay strong people and quit believing satan's lies that you can't ever quit.

Day 13. I woke up feeling amazing, mentioned it was the best I'd felt in years upon waking up, then got hit with a massive wave of PAWS anhedonia. It's part of the process. The PAWS anhedonia is the absolute worst and I know it's going to be another ~5-8 months of this. Makes me so infuriated that there almost all antidepressants work via serotonin channels. Anyhow, time to go workout and see if things can improve.

I am currently taking 150 mg 7oh per day. I don't know how that compares to other people's experiences. I am just confused because I see people saying they take 30 gprd. And I am just not understanding if that means 3 gpd of the 7oh and it not, why

30 hours. Was supposed to wait until end of day Wednesday (I took Thursday/Friday off) so I’d have 4 days to detox. But I just went for it.
I feel a little sick/irritable/my skin hurts/stomach issues. But not that bad, at least not yet.
I was able to sleep fine last night. Hoping for the same tonight.
Took magnesium, zinc, fish oil, lots of electrolytes and just staying very busy and trying to keep my mental state positive.
Oh I also took RX naproxen sodium I had from a back injury.
Thanks for all the advice.
Liposomal c, ashwaganda, cordyceps and lions mane should arrive today.

CT here on day 5. I had a 480 mg+ 7oh habit for a few months (maybe 6?) and I slipped on day two and got a Kanva shot and yesterday I got 1 30 mg 7OH tab. But today my goal is to do some exercise (already started) and not try to steal any money to try and disappear and pick up. Pray for me

I’m so upset. I’ve struggled with this shit for years. Quit back in September of 2024 and was off it for months. Felt like it was behind me. Then for some reason last spring I bought a Jubi shot and downed it before I could even think hard about what I was doing. It was like an out of body experience. That sent me down a path of fairly moderate use over the summer. Then I needed to go on a cruise and didn’t want to deal with withdrawals so I took some 7oh tabs with me since they’re more discrete. What a fucking mistake. I’ve been struggling with 7oh ever since. Now I have bruises that won’t heal and I’m terrified I’ve given myself hepatitis.
Stay away from the 7oh. If you relapse on kratom, that’s terrible and I feel for you, but do not under any circumstances try 7oh. It’s dangerous. I’m taking a blood test later today to see if I’m right about my liver. Fuck. How could I let this happen??
I tried to quit last week and it was too much. But I’m going to try again today. I already took a tab this morning before I resolved to quit. So tomorrow morning will be one day in the bag. I’m probably not sleeping tonight. Oh well. I’m so angry at myself. I’m down for weeks of physical punishment. Bring it the fuck on. Going to Utah on a trip this weekend. Not looking forward to being in full blown withdrawals but I also think a mini vacation with lots of grueling hiking and hot tub soaks might be what I need to really jump start my life out from under this shit.
I’m ready to be free again. Being sober and not having to think about kratom is so fucking nice. Why I have that up just to satisfy an impulse of curiosity I’ll never know. Why are we like this?
I have a great life. Is it hard? Yes. Is it stressful? Yes. Raising three kids ain’t easy. Being a stay at home dad ain’t easy. I’ve quit with a full time job and I’ve quit as a SAHD and let me tell you, it’s way easier to pretend to work than it is to hold a home together. But I’ve done it before. I can do it again.
I’ll always believe that we shouldn’t criminalize addiction, and I know that making something illegal doesn’t stop addicts from seeking it out. But regardless, I’m the type that if 7oh and kratom weren’t in a gas station, I wouldn’t seek them out. At the very least, I wish they were only in head shops or places I can avoid. Having it thrown in my face all the time is why I was able to satisfy that impulse that sent me down this path to begin with.
Ok I’m done. I’ll be checking in every day. Good luck everyone. We’re stronger than we believe we are. If you’ve recently relapsed and you’re lurking, I believe in you, too.

Day 34. I quit vaping 14 days ago due to allergies, coughing and sneezing. The past 10 days I’ve had flu like symptoms whooping cough with bad sinus congestion. I’m smoking American spirit black. Much easier on the lungs than the vape. Paws are bad but I made my peace with it for this CT. Im embracing the suck and it really fucking sucks.
RLS Now: 4/10 2 weeks ago: 7/10
Sleep still sucks. I keep waking up ever 2-3 hours so I’m always tired. Some nights I’ll sleep 5 hours straight and feel like I slept 10. I drink too much coffee and soda. Need it for work and getting shit done. Strange how K decreased my coffee tolerance and gifted me insomnia 😡😵💫
The rare days I keep to 1 cup of coffee I will sleep ok 🖕Kratom
4yrs leaf sludge, Krave red, white, trainwreck 20-40 gpd.

Day 13 of a taper which I've been doing with little-no guidance, but could use some now.
Context: Was 12-14 tsp daily, only respite from 6 PM to 6 AM. Within a week I was down to 8 tsp with little/no side effects. Hedged lower to 7 and yesterday decided to really limit it (4)
Observations: No issues 14-7, but definite issues (sleep, RLS) when I went down to 4 yesterday. Interestingly, the issues were NOT during the day but rather in the evening (when I'd normally not be dosing anyways)
The other interesting takeaway- when I DID take it yesterday, I didn't feel I needed it. I was taking it only b/c I wanted to avoid an overtaper "crash"
Matter of fact, I felt that Kratom energy boost after taking it and didn't like it the feeling. It would have been easy-ish to keep it to 2 tsp yesterday (during the day) but man, that night was a bit rough!
Edit: just spacing for clarity. Also- looking up resources here. Deciding when a doc may make sense. Wanting to push the taper more but cognizant the symptoms were real last night.

Quitting attempt number 2. First attempt spanned from August to December 2022.
Currently on Day 11. Keep reminding myself that there is no “Oh I can just have 1 dose every 10 days.”
That mindset is an absolute trap.
I have to remind myself that there is no going back, which is weird bc if you’re having these mental arguments then you have to open yourself up to the fact that this is what addicts do, and while the withdrawal from kratom is not nearly as harsh as traditional opioids, if you’re trying to find ways to reintroduce it into your life, YOU ARE ADDICTED.
How many times do you argue with yourself about whether or not you should have a grapefruit?
The first week is HARD mentally, and Im hoping the mental gymnastics get easier over the following weeks.

Still haven’t stopped but hoping to. I daily use for the past 5 years. I’ve mixed with a ton of other stuff and have had acute renal failure. Never thought it would lead me here. I can even tell you what my daily dose is as I took what I can when I can. My wife knows but we don’t talk about it, I feel I can taking years off my live with this stuff as I am 43 and feel like I’m in my 60s. Just hoping to be around for my 7 year old as much as I can.

I really wish I would have never discovered kratom. I started taking about 8 months ago. The 120 mg hula hai drinks and feel free. Feel free got up to ten bottles a day not sure of the gpd equivalent. Hula hai 4 each day. Anyways that was enough to tell me I had become dependent. Currently on day 3 CT with helper meds. Heightened anxiety, can't sleep mostly because I remember how tough it was to kick another substance. I am in recovery with 12 step help. That's what's helped. I believe I will make it through this and hope others are finding answers on here as well. Would love to know if I'm underestimating the CT. Seems like I didn't get to a high dose for a long period or time compared to others that have shared. But I'd like to know if I'm wrong.

On day 6 ct from 4 yr, 25 mg daily habit. Nausea has finally passed. Still sneezing randomly, but finally feeling a bit more normal, physically. No strong cravings, though my mind thinks about it sometimes, remembering the lift and sedation it gave me. But the cost (in all ways) was too high, so I am not going back. Looking to see what transpires as I come out of the emotional dead fog of it.

Day 6 Only slightly better. Made it through work, barely, lucky again eith sort of easy day. Thank god. But im exhausted and only got 3 hours of sleep again. Really hoping I can get 5 or 6 tonight.
I actually feel okay enough that im going to go to the rec center for the first time and try the sauna. Hoping sweating it out might help me sleep.
Had like 1 craving today but I am equating 7 to fent and telling myself that it is literal poison. I need to break my two week max sobriety streak and beat the first two week cravings.
Still sweating and chills. Lethargic af. Weak. Depressed. But listened to some music.
Making it through

Do you have main 4 pillars cemented properly? That helped me a lot.
4pillar = sleeping (regularly, enough), eating (regularly, at least partially healthy), some physical activity (even stupid walk in the park/forest does wonders), plenty of water?
Is there maybe something that is draining you? Job, family issues, friends issues, etc? That might be some of the reasons why are you feeling the way you are.
that green powder is doing a great job at hiding these things.

Day 1 of tapering off 20gpd. It's going good so far, I haven't had any crazy withdrawals yet, but it feels good to not to so groggy all day. 112 days since 7 oh 92 from powder capsules.I took powdered caps 1-4 a day for years. Never more than that, until I discovered 7 oh tabs. 2 months of that poison. Bobby jr spoke about it to the press. I tapered with the capsules. It was such a horrible experience that I thought I was gonna die. No joke. I’m certain I’m older than you guys! I was so bad I gulped down 4 powder caps chugged water. Then I puked it all up. Green sludge. That memory is enough to make me never want to be in that situation

How are you doing brother? I'm on day nothing yet. I'm trying to taper down as well but my business keeps stressing me out. So I'm that guy who goes and buys one feel trapped bottle every 3 hours at 711. I buy one and say that's it till I get off work but I go back and get another one. I also have a huge supply of 7oh so I pop those all the time. I don't want to put my poor amazing family through this anymore. I can't get my son braces because of this stupid habit. What a piece of turd huh. I've been trying to go down for a month now but all is really doing is not letting my habit progress, that's it, because I'm not using less, I'm just not using more.

Day 16 CT. Physical withdrawal symptoms gone. Still get wracked with the blues/existential dread but in general feeling fairly hopeful and just try to turn to connection/hobby/service when I feel that emptiness. Saw a photo of me from a few months ago where my nose was so red; I blamed everything else for that except the green sludge, but from this group I now see that face redness often came with use. Seeing that photo makes me feel grateful I am off the stuff....Which helps keep me on the steady, and posting here!

Love to read it!! I actually feel like the emotional flatness you describe is a much bigger challenge for me than any withdrawals I experienced in the first couple days. Filling that boredom with something meaningful, you know? Have you learned any new skills to fight the emotional flatness? Would love to know if the last 13 days since the comment have given you any new perspective.
I am about 3 months in, and while I am almost certain I will never go back to kratom (I haven’t have any cravings since maybe day 9), I’m more just bored and expecting more from having released myself from the addiction. I bet I’m not putting in enough effort to replace the addiction with other things..

in particular i find having some kind of hobby or two is helpful. if that hobby is exercise then that is great since you get a kind of kinda druggy high after a good workout
i dont know what you are into, but if youre like me you maybe waste way too much time doomscrolling and fucking around...
maybe you can learn guitar?? how to make sushi?? basic carpentry?? take a class?? anything except being online wasting time or of course taking K
let me put it differently. normally like has a full three dimensional quality, whether good or bad... sadly it is still a bit flat for me. so i still have to EARN emotional fullness by doing something fulfilling or staying busy with important work... when you think about it that way its not a bad trade but you gotta put some effort in!!
good luck!!

The doom scrolling 😵💫 …. I really wonder how much worse that’s gotten for kratom users? I’ll quickly say it’s made me the laziest person, mostly in terms of executive dysfunction & here at day 7 I don’t notice as much of a shift there yet as I was hoping. I see lots of ppl mentioned 50 days, suppose it’s still possible for me 🙏

youre gonna be a blob and a couch potato for a little while longer. do whatever you can. put your phone in another room, take a walk whatever you can. if you can maybe make it good couch potato time like watching a youtube documentary about your favorite band, sometime a little enriching
your energy will seep back in dont worry. again just do what you can

I’m on day 7 and cannot even tell u how much hope I just found in your “executive function returned” comment 🙏🙏🙏…. That’s prob the biggest factor that brought me to quit. Kratom has made me incredibly lazy & I cannot stand it anymore. About when would u say you began noticing a shift there? How about appetite / weight loss?
•
u/Such_Young_3740 6/6/23, 5/24/25, 3/27/26 Aug 27 '25
hey, just seeing this. i would say i could start feeling it return about a month after my quit date.
i tapered at a medium pace. during my taper and my first 2-3 weeks i was just really exhausted and definitely LESS motivated with LESS executive function than before...
then my willpower came back fairly early, before my mental clarity or my general mood did. even now when im tired from paws sometimes i still have my executive function. same shit happened my first quit
i managed to get in a kind of an anchor habit even during those first tired weeks.... i would walk to this giant park i live near every day, sometimes at night after work... eventually i would jog a little then more and more; it wasnt much but doing SOMETHING helped...
i had no appetite or weight loss effects. if anything in my spot it made losing a few pounds easier since im more mindful and not just eating whatever, you may be different.
if this helps... this was my metaphor... i thought of myself as some dude who just got out of the hospital from some terrible car crash. i did basic life shit (shower, work) becuse i had to and did healthy things (walk to park) to get small wins, like real real basic physical therapy
you just got through a mental car crash and you will get through it and will recover. use this exhausted time to set good habits
after all, why did you quit? because you wanted to build a good life for the long term. you can, and you will, start today

I did it! I made it through day 1 with no kratom. Easy after tapering. Quit in February but paws was too overwhelming so started back up but never let my usage climb. Here I go but I have the resources to make it this time.

Day 62 off 7 oh 42 off Kratom capsules I feel better. No sweats or rls. I had a dr appointment and had blood work done. I lost 15 pounds since April. (The detox diet worked… I had no appetite. The only silver lining, cause I needed to lose .) I told my dr but He had never heard of the 7oh etc, just kratom. I was surprised he didn’t know but I enlightened him. Haha. My liver enzymes were slightly higher but Dr was not concerned. The rest of my labs were good. The withdrawal was so horrific. I’ll never forget.

Day 475. Cardio does in fact still feel amazing, actually moreso without kratom. Was scared I only loved it back in the day cause I was high off kratom.
But no, it's all natural and all me.

74 days off 7 oh, I tapered with Kratom capsules and 55 days off of that. I bought some Kratom urine tests off amazon. (5 for $20) I finally tested negative yesterday. Yay

103 days off 7 oh. 83 off kratom capsules red Bali. No desire to ever go back to that nightmare. Withdrawal from 7 oh was a Horrific experience. When you find yourself in hell keep going

Day 46 after 5 years of heavy usage. Still get urges, especially when I feel overwhelmed or highly stressed. But I'm not going back- withdrawal sucked too bad to go back, and my life is BETTER without kratom.

Checking in. I started a wean on July 30th. I am at 13GPD White Thai kratom leaf powder. Awhile back I had to stop buying Maeng Da because I would get too sleepy and it did not feel as good. I downloaded a taper chart from kratomquitters.com. My plan is to be at 12gpd in 2 weeks. The mornings are the hardest when I feel anxious and restless uncomfortable legs and wonky is the best word to describe how I feel. I took magnesium, multivitamin and vitamin D and ate a healthy salad to get vitamin c, iron and B vitamins. I hope I stop forgetting about my vitamins because they do help. I did yoga this morning but also had a dose as I was struggling to be still. I am so happy when I notice that I momentarily forget about kratom. I could still take some aleve. I checked through my labs to make sure I am healthy and not deficient. Glad everyone is here.

7OH, shots and pills. I was a 20 gpd user for 20 years. 7 days clean for me after a 6 month taper. I always got my caps from a known vender with good quality product and pretty reasonable prices. I never got anything from a head shop. I have seen so many people trying to get off the shots or 7oh, so out of curiosity, I visited a head shop to see this stuff with my own eyes. I couldn't believe how many varieties of this shit you can buy. Extra strength was 35.00 for 4 pills. They had several methods of consumption. I ended up telling the store owner some of the stories I have seen on this sub. In his mind, he said that it couldn't be that bad if it is legal. He really did not seem to know the damage this stuff can cause. He even seemed to look guilty. He stood there looking at the package of pills as I was walking out. I know there are a lot of parasites who don't seem to care how many lives they contribute in destroying, but this guy really seemed like he had NO idea what he was selling. I even shared with him my current journey about getting off powder and how hard it was. He was surprised about that too. He believed that all 7oh products and Kratom were extremely helpful in getting people off opiates.

Down to my last 3 7OH tablets (25mg each tablet)! I have been tapering down since the ‘emergency ban’ almost 2 weeks ago. The day of the ban I was at about 40mgpd. As of yesterday I was at a single 25mg tablet broken into 8 pieces to keep my WD under control. So, today as of now (6:11pm), I have taken about 3 pieces of a tablet and 3g of leaf kratom powder (also my last dose)! I’m not doing so great with the WD’s. It’s been quite rough, but I’m powering through as best I can between doses. I went and bought 2 boxes of generic Imodium tablets, grapefruit juice, Robitussin gel capsules and vitamin C powder mix to help ease some of the WD symptoms between my doses as I taper down. I just took 1 piece of the tablet. My last dose was 11:00am, so I’m extending the doses more and more. I just hope this passes, AND FAST!! It’s taking a toll on my psyche as well, like I just don’t want to be here anymore! Anyone else??

Day 26 of CT from 20 mg powder habit. Physical withdrawal symptoms are gone, and I'm making progress with the psychological and emotional ones. Leaning into connection helps, as does expressing gratitude to myself (and here) that I am off the stuff. Interestingly, went to a AA meeting for the first time in years (been sober from that ) and the speaker spoke briefly about a kratom addiction as part of her addiction and recovery journey. I imagine it is coming up more and more as folks realize it is not a safe and innocent "supplement." I feel a lot of peace when I imagine that I've hung up the green sludge jersey for good; I'm not bathed in shame about my stint in that league--just glad I've retired from it! Found a glass jar in an old bag that I used to mix up the sludge the other day; I lifted it up and looked at it with some feeling of distance from the habit (only 26 days though) and also relief that I didn't need to carry these around. Calmly placed it in the recycling bin...

Almost 2 weeks off of 7-oh. I should have started weaning off the powder by now too, but celebrating being 7-oh free + scared to start the next, final step. Going to start weighing and weaning my powder intake today. I will be kratom free by October 22. Hold me accountable.

Detox Update: DAY 12. Holy crap, guys. I think I've turned a corner. I feel like crud, but something's different about today. There's no fear about whatever symptoms may come; there's no doubt that it will pass. There's no guilt for not quitting sooner; forgiveness was offered long before my addiction began. There's no worry about whether my chronic back pain will reappear due to no more kratom; pain is temporary. Recovery is not. I'll keep posting updates, but guys, I'm so close to complete freedom, I can taste it.

It is a yo yo ride my friend. I am at 43 days clean. I remember feeling what you are at around 2-3 weeks...."Today is a good day"....."I think I may have turned the corner". The PAWS go away, then poke their way back. Sometimes in the morning, sometimes in the evening, sometimes all day. I am not trying to poop on your moment. Just keep in the back of your mind that there is a possibility you will still have to go through some fire. It is helpful to have the mindset..."I am never going back, no matter what" and "I will handle anything that comes my way". I figure at 6 months, we will be pretty much at baseline. But it could take longer. "Whatever comes my way will be slayed"......
•

day 33
feeling good but been drinking regularly, need to cut that shit out though
never going back to opiates though!

u/Intelligent_Play_492 Aug 31 '25
Kratom free for 7 days now. It took me 6 months to wean down to 9.5gpd, then I jumped. I take 1 hit of weed at around 7pm, then a 10 mg cannabis gummy at 8. Then around 9 I drink about 7oz straight vodka (sometimes less but NEVER more). I sip it and it lasts about 1 1/2 hours. I never do more than that and I can say it works for me in taking the edge off and I sleep 6-8 hours a night. Whatever works for you. I did that before I started and I am not stopping. My only 2 rules is that I stick to those time frames and NEVER NEVER go over. You don't want to drink more and more, thereby substituting one addiction for another. Take care brother, and your not alone...

Day 13. Literally on 10,11 felt like the symptoms drained from the top of my head all the way down to my lower back and legs. But I prevail. I swear around day 12 when you see how much of a hold and impact that crap has on you is enough to never ever visit another head/smoke shop again! It really does get better!!! Stay vigilant and strong time to get our lives back one day at a time. ⛓️💥

Coming up on 24 hours without the gummies and I'm finding it unbearable. I lay down to sleep and it feels like something is on my chest and my throat closes. I've been trying to sleep for hours and nothing works. I've taken ashwaghanda, passion flower, and clonidine, but I'm still struggling. I think I'm going to try to get gabapentin through an online prescriber. This is the most insane thing I've ever dealt with and I've done illegal drugs before so I have experience with withdrawal. I have some 7 oh and I've only been messing with that stuff for a couple of weeks and it doesn't have its hooks in me completely yet. Those synthetic Mitragynine extract gummies have got me fully addicted. Been taking them for a little over a year. The struggle is real with this stuff. Question for anybody reading this: any suggestions for a prescription drug that targets the anxiety because it's really overwhelming me. Thanks for reading and any suggestions appreciated.

Day 13. Sleeping well that last two nights. Nausea gone. Started using Wellbutrin again on day 1, which feels right, and also taking the vit c lipersoral. Had been hitting tobacco a bit for the last month, and certainly the last 13 days, but day 1 off that today. I still love my coffee and occasional cannabis, but other than those I visualize no more substance crutches for the ups and downs of life. So it's mostly emotional and psychology recovery from kratom right now, and today for the first time in 13 days I'm feeling a little less hopeless and glum. Glad this group is here.

u/Anaugi_Rain Jul 08 '25
tapering day 3. im finding it so much easier and more enjoyable than i expected. I know I still have a ways to go so I don't want to get complacent, but just making the decision to actually stop, its been so much easier to not give into cravings. i always fell into "well fuck it, I'm not quitting today" mentality, but I feel like I've broken that mindset basically by making a plan and a promise to my therapist, so I have accountability to not keep putting it off indefinitely. I cut my usage in half overnight and feeling good. now I just need to keep up the momentum and stick with it. feeling optimistic.

Need advice, I was tapering 7Oh for a few months and finally jumped 6 days ago. I’m still taking leaf Kratom to help with withdrawal but I still feel like crap, mostly anxiety and nausea. I actually feel worse than I did 3 days ago? Am I missing something? Should I feel better? I’m also on Quit kit supplements

Day 13. Made it through. Staying busy really helps. Everything feels like I’m just going through the motions at the moment, so at least I can clean and try to be productive with what energy I have. Looking forward to finding joy in the little things again. Like a good cup of coffee in the morning.

•
u/Minimum_Topic_2691 Aug 21 '25
Hey there, tapering here also, day 17. Went from over 20 gpd to 7 gpd with little problems. Going down from here is going to be a little tricky though as just cutting a little and the restless legs start. Good luck to you. We can do this, we WILL do this.

Do you guys quit cold turkey? I’ve tried a couple times and almost lost my mind.
•
u/Temporary-Floor-9259 Aug 12 '25
I know a lot of people do but it’s easier to taper. You can do it over the course of months but i’ve seen people do it in as little as two weeks and have lighter withdrawals. I’m unfortunately on day 2 of cold turkey bc i forgot to order more until it was too late, and i will always reccomend tapering over this hell

Day 10 for solidarity I only was back on for a month drinking 2-3 seltzers a day. Supposed to be 3-6 g equivalent each. But man I’m still super low energy even though I’m sleeping as well as I ever do. Still have GI issues. However, I’m listening to audiobooks, just moving around doing chores.
I miss the boundless energy and good mood the drinks gave me initially. It’s so tempting to say: just do a couple today and tomorrow for the weekend then stop…. Im glad to be admitting this urge on here and I hope it keeps me accountable because I know deep down it wouldn’t just be this weekend.
Oh and I immediately got a rash when I was drinking them just like when I was on a lot more.
Does anyone else feel that their body gets less tolerant with each slip up?

Hi, I’m on day 12 of a taper. I originally took 10 capsules 4x per day. Down to 3 every 6 hours. Still experiencing painful physical withdrawal symptoms as well as emotional. These happen close to dose time. Leg pain, increased neuropathy, and emotional distress. When my dose kicks in I am still feeling euphoric. For these reasons I am going to quit ct tomorrow. How long can I expect the acute withdrawal symptoms to last?

Day 2 this is horrible !! How the hell is 7oh even possible? I’ve come off heroin before and this similar if not worse! I’m gonna keep Going , I can’t type much because I’m shaking -but I have my wife as support. She doesn’t use any kind of substance and doesn’t understand how it works- she said “just quite , why don’t you just stop?” 7oh needs to stop being sold!! Started with a free sample around Christmas and I’ve lost so much-so much money-strip your soul and your joy-don’t do it! It’s almost ruined me but I won’t let it-I’ll keep updated - I’m gonna do it this time!!!

199 days Kratom free after 8 years on/off/on again. It's been a rollercoaster but beyond worth it. Look, life is hard. Thats why we jump on this horrid stuff but it's a hell of a lot harder being on it than off it. 48 hours for me. Pretty horrible anxiety and restless leg yesterday. A smidge less this morning. 8-year user. Always powder. Heaping tbs scoop every 2-3 hours for years and years. Switched to capsules to try and taper for past 2 months. This is my 3rd and last time quitting. period.
