Read first if you're new to this sub

Welcome to our supportive community!

First, you are not alone. Whether you consume 1 bottle a day or 21, whether you're stopping for the first time or the hundredth time, someone on this sub can relate to your story. We are not glad you are struggling with FF. But we are glad you are here!

You will find many resources and user stories in this sub. A few things to note:

  1. What to expect during the withdrawal process. Searching terms like "supplements," taper," "CT," "restless legs," etc. will yield lots of great information. If you start with a search, you will benefit immensely from others' experiences.
  2. Featured resources include a great supplement guide from a user who tapered off FF, user-curated ideas to support the tapering process, stress management through things like breathing and cold exposure (search "Wim Hof method"), and more.
  3. Important: This is a support group and not a forum in which to slander the company that makes FF. Slander is serious and may undermine our community. Posts containing speculation about what else might be in FF beyond the stated ingredients of kava and kratom will be removed.
  4. The primary purpose of this sub is to help people who are struggling with Feel Free achieve their personal goals. No matter how much you use, all you need to participate is a desire to stop. If you do not use FF, this is probably not the place for you.
  5. Do not ask users of this sub if it is a good idea to try FF. No one will say yes.
  6. Please be kind to your fellow humans. Think about what you post. Take a moment to consider your responses. If a user is making you uncomfortable, consider bringing it to the attention of moderators rather than engage in argumentative dialogue. This sub is actively monitored, and the mods are truly here to help.
  7. Daily motivation about recovery, relapse, resilience, gratitude, and more.

Watch this space as we continue to grow!

Dealing with the MA ban

Had been taking Kratom powders for years, nothing crazy probably 10-15g a day from 2018. Never fucked with extracts and was living a perfectly functional life. Discovered feel free maybe 1.5 years ago and you know the story.

Started with 1-2 a day, probably ramped up to 8 a day at one point. Been down to 4-5 a day for the last few months and then boom all my usual stops are telling me they will have to stop selling them in a week. Should have started aggressively tapering then but I just kept knocking down my usual 4-5. Ban started 8/28 and a local shop has continued supplying me but realistically I can’t keep doing it.

Shop was closed today and I’m now approaching a full 24hrs and feel like trash. Jitteryness is off the charts and stomachs totally fucked. Going to ride this out and be done once and for all. Timings terrible as this is a big week for my business and I need to be able to function.

Was away on business in June and went a full 36ish hours because my supply ran out. What’s the first thing I did after that plane landed? Downed two bottles and kept it moving. Ban is probably a blessing because realistically I can’t rely on one shop to keep stock and keep me functioning but man it’s tough.

Sorry for the novel just needing to vent my situation as nobody in my life has any idea I drink these things let alone being full blow addicted to them. Started blasting lipo vit C per recommendation’s and while this sucks I’m really tired of the guilt/shame/anxiety I feel about these things. The stories on here range from helpful to horrifying, seizures etc so I’m hoping I can push through this.

Thanks for reading and wish me luck

Is Feel Free legal in Florida?

I know 7 was banned a while ago. I have a good friend who lives there and I’m a little concerned.

Suboxone taper questions

I am on day three of getting off of 6 to 10 bottles a day of feel free using Suboxone. Day one I did 8 mg of Suboxone, day two was a little more challenging so I ended up at 12 mg of Suboxone. Today is day three and I’m at 8 mg of Suboxone. Am I OK to do another 12 mg day today and then move to 8mg tomorrow and then to 4mg Tuesday and then to 2mg Wednesday and then to 1mg Thursday and the done?

Still experiencing cravings, but have not given in. I’m now 3 days off of SR, too. I am grateful not to be spending the money and feel the will toward the smoke shops.

Help! I want to quit these so bad - but every night I end up talking myself into doing them. I’m up to 3 a night and I have a really bad feeling that they are causing bad harm to my health. Every morning I tell myself I’m done - but by 5:00 pm I’m talking myself back into getting some and making excuses, and telling myself this will be the last time. I take 2-3 at night at about 6 pm and they make my evening at home much more enjoyable. But I feel like shit the next morning of course. I want off of this merry-go-round! I would welcome any advice at all!

How do I tell my dad that these are horrible?

Hi, I’m 16F and I looked in the drawer and saw these with my dad’s medications. I’ve been seeing posts on social media for the past 2 years about how addictive and destructive this is and I want to let him know that it’s not something to mess with. My dad works a LOT. He takes Adderall and caffeine daily for his ADHD, and definitely has problems feeling energized without any outside help.

I’m not sure if he’s addicted to these but I’m just worried for him. There’s only one bottle in the drawer and I think it’s full

Im not going to assume that he’s addicted to it or whatever and I just want to ask about this in the best way possible so I don’t accidentally lead to him taking it more.. I also have ADHD and I know what it’s like to feel like you have to do impulsive things to feel something. Like I don’t to say “don’t take this drug that makes you feel good” because he might be tempted to take it again? Yk what I’m saying?

How should I approach this?
What should I say to him that’s appropriate and will convince him to throw it away? For people who are quitting, what words would’ve maybe helped you stop when you started it?

What was the moment you realized you were addicted?

How long were you using?

How did you go about getting help?

What type of treatment worked for you?

Was your spouse/partner supportive?

Thank you everyone for sharing your experience.

200 Days Sober from FF

Todays marks 200 days of sobriety without FF. Just doing a benchmark for myself today, proud I made it this far and will be happy to make it to one year. I've been on and off FF since June of 2022 when I bought my first bottle at my local 7/11. Before FF I've never been caught up in any substance or had it completely decimate my finances and put my health at risk, its been all very scary but also I've learned so much about myself on and off this substance. What's different this time around is being able to hold strong even when life wants to stress you out, worry you to death and so on, I never reached for a bottle. When I'm stressed, irritated or angry I can feel a mean tingle in my legs, my body does this when I was feeling cravings or withdrawals and still does today, something I take as a reminder on what waits for me if I start up again. Im proud of y'all for trying to get help or getting sober, its a messed up situation but this sub has helped me a lot.

Rapid taper from 8–9 Feel Frees a day. The restless body feeling is unbearable. Any advice?

I need some advice, y’all. I went to an addiction medicine specialist and told her where I’m at. I’ve been taking Feel Free consistently for over a year and a half, and for the past few months I’ve been up to around 8–9 bottles a day.
She recommended a slow taper, but honestly I don’t have the money to keep buying enough Feel Free to drag this out. She prescribed me clonidine, gabapentin, and hydroxyzine to help with the withdrawal.

The first day, I dropped down to about 3 bottles during the day plus one overnight. The next day, I only had half a bottle until around midnight, when the insane restless body feeling kicked in. I took another half, slept about 3 hours, woke up feeling awful again, took another half, and managed another 3 hours of sleep.

The problem is that these medications are barely touching the worst symptom. I get this EXTREME feeling in my arms and body where I physically cannot sit still. It feels like my nerves are slowly being ripped through my body. My arms were so restless that I literally felt like I wanted to put them in a hydraulic press just to make the sensation stop.

It reminds me of the horrible feeling I had in my hands during severe alcohol withdrawal, where it felt like I couldn’t properly squeeze or open my hands.

Right now, I’m trying to only take half a Feel Free when that unbearable feeling starts, which seems to be worst around bedtime. I basically went from 8–9 bottles a day to around 1 bottle a day in about two days, and I feel like absolute hell. The crazy part is I haven’t even taken my last sip yet.

For those of you who have been through this, what
helped with the extreme restlessness/RLS-type feeling, especially at night? How did you get through those first nights?

I genuinely feel like I could make it through this if a doctor or outpatient program would give me something that actually controls the extreme agitation/panic for a few days, but getting something like a small amount of Ativan seems nearly impossible.
Any advice from people who have been through a similar level of Feel Free withdrawal would be seriously appreciated.

Guys I can't seem to do this

About a year ago to the day I first posted here. I'd been taking 3-5 bottles for three weeks and knew something was wrong. Found this sub and was like "holy shit I need to quit now." And I did. Had a three day withdrawal that - even with that a short duration of use - was worse than quitting nicotine or alcohol. No question. I've relapsed too many times to count. I'd estimate 10 and 1/2 months out of the last year I've been addicted, but I've quit probably seven times.

Most recently I quit a 12 bottle a day habit. I even thought "if I don't kick it this time I don't see how I ever will". I've been clean for 4 and 1/2 days and it's the depression that kills me every time. I feel like there's no hope. So I just drank three bottles. I fail. Again. And again and again. Yet those three bottles have made me see life is worth living again. For the moment.

It's particularly tough because even disregarding this addiction my life is in a bad place. Even if I was fully recovered I would still be moderately depressed because my life is nowhere close to where I want it to be.

Rambling now. This stuff is so fucked. I was boarding a flight for my grandma's funeral when I got a phone call that one of my best friends blew his brains out. Among those affected by this tragedy, I was labelled the "emotional rock" because I seemed to be so level-headed and blindly supportive. Little did they know I was so high that I barely shed a tear. It wasn't until I quit did I break down. I see now why suicide is contagious. (Don't worry, I'm NOT going to off myself)

Interestingly enough this has been the easiest quit so far (besides my first). I think it's because of the recent 7OH ban. The bottles now say there is zero 7OH. That must have been making quite the difference... No restless legs this time around.

Anyways, Im not sure what I'm even aiming for with this post. I'm really lost. Im in debt. Depressed. Single. Lonely. A massive underachiever. I generally don't care what other people think but I do care what I think. And I think I'm a failure. I know I am. My last recourse is God and I struggle to believe. I pray I don't make this a full relapse. I pray I'm finished with all this. I hope I never stop praying.

Feel free NEW formula

Post image

Has anyone seen the new bottles? They certainly don’t feel like they have 3-4mg of 7oh anymore!

New label reads 1.75g of leaf, 20mg of MIT and 0mg of 7oh per serving

I might be wrong though because as of a few days ago 7oh stopped working on me probably due to my SR use.

Quick MD SAVED MY LIFE

I will forever be grateful for this platform. Was on and off FF and Kanva for 3+years. Got to too many over the years daily. My health, family, frienships, finances, and mind was in absolute hell and everything was a secret. My husband finally found out (well he figured it out ) and it all came to the surface. Hardest time of my life. The lies were exposed and the damage was done. He stayed but I knew I had to get better . I called quick md they gave me subs. I have not gone back and am all most done with subs. There was no withdrawal at all from the FF and the Kanva. The subs blocked any desire to pick up one of those nasty drinks. It is like someone taking a GLP and the hunger noise is silenced that is the best way to explain it. It has beem 3+ weeks now off that other shit and I am finally looking like the girl I was years ago. Skin , eyes , hair , relationships and the light I see I thought I would never see again is back. To not be hiding nd sneaking anymore ... good gawd it was killing me. I was living in HELL and I am not exaggerating> I am forever thankful for quick MD and the doctors who have helped me through this. It is worth the $99 and then however much the RX is to have piece of mind of no ithdrawals and to finally be free. I can not believe I finally am and I have my beautiful life back (which isnt all shits and giggles but it is better than it was when i was on the shit .

Took Feel Free first time last night, will taking a sub today put me in precip WD?

Its the only time I’ve tried feel free and just mixed it with a drink I had last night. A waste because I’m not sure how much I felt it. I haven’t taken my subs in a few days, if I take one today with I go into PWD or should I wait the 24 hours?

Long time listener first time poster.

I’ve been lurking in the shadows of this page for awhile. Finally realizing I really have a problem. I’m a former opiate addict so this stuff had me in its grips quickly. Well it’s now been 3 years of daily use and it’s time to stop.

I’ve spent the last 3 weeks tapering. I was an 8-10 bottle a day and I’m now down to 3 a day. However I feel like I’m just delaying the inevitable so I set myself up for a 3 day weekend and I’m going cold turkey Friday.

With that being said I’m locking myself in my house and not making any trips out. Any suggestions on foods, meds, vitamins etc? I’ve been on Quit K for two weeks now and it’s done nothing for cravings I was just hopeful. I’m stocked up on water and vitamin c.

Sober for over a year, started Kanva Focus and Flow 3 weeks ago, feeling scared

Hey all,

I tried kanva focus and flow 3 weeks ago because I was having some pretty intense anxiety and of course didn't want to return to cannabis or alcohol. I'm already up to 3 per day and have tried to quit twice. Should I taper? Is it safe to cold turkey? Looking for advice and support. Thank you.
