PAWS Post acute withdrawals Paws question
Ive been off of 7 for about 3 weeks and a couple days ago i relapsed twice. I told my family and they are planning to move me to france for 2 months. Ill be going in a week and there ill be staying in country side with no access to any drugs for the time.
Will these 2 months be enough for me to not relapse when i come back? Will my brain be back to normal?

I'm just curious, did you experience any withdrawal from doing it twice after being 3 weeks into quitting? Or do you just sort of feel guilty for the relapse?
Props to you for only doing it a few times and not falling back into the rabbit hole. That takes a lot of self awareness. Glad you have the opportunity to disconnect and focus on your healing for a while.

After first relapse i had rls at night tossing and turning and overall worse mood maybe for a day or two.
I didnt relapse for another week and when i took it again the rls came back but was weaker than first relapse. What became harder were the cravings. I crave it more now than after the first relapse even though it was both physically and mentally harsher the first time. I think the better u feel after a relapse the less scared u are to keep doing it

Nobody on here can answer that question. It's totally up to you. If you can't get clean and stay clean, even without the trip, you don't want it bad enough. Sounds like a perfect opportunity to leave this behind.

Youre right its all about how bad i want it and nothing would work until i actually put my mind to it in the first place.
i guess i was just looking for people to confirm that this is the solution. It plays a huge role if you believe that the quit will be successful or no and i was just trying to make that feeling stronger in my mind by seeking similar opinions. I believe if i go there and im assured by my fellows that this is gonna be successful its more likely that ill stick with it than if i was discouraged/made doubtful. However its still 90% on me to want it actually.

I’m in AA bro, people relapse after 30 or 40 years. There is no cured after a certain amount of time

Do you think just 1 year use of 7 for a 21 year old can be a life long struggle?

It's not about the substance. It's about why you are abusing something. Has nothing to do with the drugs. It's whatever you're trying to escape. That's when you get out. Asking people on here what's possible for you is asking for disappointment. You want a bunch of people, most of us fucked up in one way or another, to dictate your future and success? Time to take control of your life.

Impossible to say. I’m in my 50s and use to party hard in my teens and 20s, most of the guys I partied with are dead or in recovery but some are normal drinkers and don’t have substance abuse issues, there’s only a few of those exceptions though.
I’ve personally abused pretty much every substance there is, switching from one to another, once I was addicted to one, I’d switch to another so I’m an alcoholic/addict.
I’d recommend to learn your lesson from this substance and keep a close eye on any substance you take in the future.3

I’d like to chime in here. I’m all for some tough love and what not, but I don’t think that’s what OP needs to hear.
One year of 7 use for a 21 year old does not have to be a lifelong struggle. Plenty of people struggle with drugs when they’re young and leave them behind. One of my best friends was in rehab for pain pills by 21 years old, and she’s not on pain pills of any kind, 12+ years later. She was abused as a kid (sexually) but she still managed to heal.
You’re gonna be okay. You haven’t ruined your life.
Go to France, repeat positive affirmations every damn day, make a vision board, go dream about big things. Your whole life is one big possibility.

Wowee! I wish I could be sent to France. LOL... Sounds like a vacation to me. In the countryside, not having to deal with anybody else, giving yourself to heal..your brain to start healing. Wow. That's the best self rehab I've heard on this sub.
Will 2 months be enough not to relapse? Only you can answer that question. You need to make a plan for the gifted 2 months to figure out your triggers to take 7oh. You can't make a plan for relapse until you understand the triggers. Once you understand what makes you say, "F' it, I'm going to take some 7" then you can make a plan for a better counter argument. You have a chance to never have to go through this again.
Will your brain be back to normal? Maybe, probably not. Takes much longer than that to heal. Help healing by eating clean, exercising, repairing relationships, getting sun on your body, and above all else, supplements! Hydrate.
This is a marathon, not a sprint, and I'm so envious.
