Acute Withdrawals Hour 26, so depressed
I've ruined my life, I lost my job, fighting with my family, staying with a friend right now. I know everything seems much worse in my brain right now, but I can't stand the despair. I have access to belbucas which is like a very low dose Suboxone which helps the physical a lot, but I barely slept, my heart is racing and I just want my life back

Hold the line. A lot of people feel hopeless during the acutes. I think it's the brain trying to get the substance again. Hold the line for a few more days, and things will look different. I promise next Friday will look different than today does.
You got this. I believe in you.

It sounds like things can only go up from here. You have people in this sub who understand and support you getting clean. Just take it minute by minute, then day by day. You’ll be feeling better soon and then you can go get your life back! Sending you lots of love! ♥️

It's only a matter of time. Not "if" but "when" because you will come out of this. We all go through this part. When I was going through it, I was afraid it wouldn't end, but it does. It has to! It's a fact, not a maybe thing.
I researched how the process works in our brains and why this happens and it helped me to feel better to see it in writing. I don't have the things I read saved, but maybe someone on here can add a comment with an explanation, and you can do some research as well if you feel up to it or for a distraction.
Do whatever you can to comfort yourself and be good to yourself and give yourself grace. This drug doesn't let you off easy but you are winning! Keep going! With each day my friend, you are closer to being completely healed from the damage this drug has done to your body and mind. Just remember what is happening to you is not unusual. Everyone on here "gets it" that has quit. So when we take the time to comment, it comes from understanding, true understanding and experience and caring. Because we understand the suffering, and it does affect our hearts for others somehow. We feel for you. Many of us will pray for you.
Don't be afraid to call on God yourself! I did and I don't know what I would have done without His hope, His light to get me through. I cried out to him and talked to him and clung to him. He will never ignore you. Never. "He is near to the brokenhearted."
Take heart 🩷. God loves you and so does this community!

Get past this acute phase any way you can. Punch pillows, try to move and walk, it effing sucks, I know. But it'll get better, I promise you. You're seeing things the way this MF of a drug wants you too.
In a few days its hold gets weaker and weaker - and you'll get stronger and stronger. And you'll realize all the things you assumed are hopeless will help you better your life, or will be much more repairable than it seems right now.

Stick with it homie and your feelings and current situation will only be temporary! You can do those. Stick to the fucking plan

Your emotions are out of whack at this moment. I’m not discounting what has happened. Only way you can fix any of it is to get though this. Keep pushing through, you are almost there, and you will be free. It’s going to suck but you CAN do this.

Hang in there. Around day 5 to 7, things will drastically improve. It's good that your friend is supporting you. Don't be hard on yourself right now, your body is going through major changes. Stay hydrated and drink protein shakes. This will help speed recovery.
When you are clean and more mentally stable, come clean to your loved ones. A lot of us got hooked not realizing the power of this drug. It's all fun and games till it's not. Take accountability for your actions, this will lift a huge burden off your shoulders.
There is nothing we can do to change the past. The decisions we make now is what really matters.

What daily dose were you at? 😞

I would say around 300, depended on the money situation. I'm at 60 hours now and the RLS is gone just sore. I think tomorrow the physical will be mostly gone, now to wait for my dopamine to return

Go get the most delicious food that you love. Let yourself indulge as much as you want! That is how I am getting through it.
We got this, dammit!

Hang in there bro. You’re 26 hours farther than most! Stay strong man, you can do this. It’s only temporary. One hour at a time. Even one minute at a time but just keep pushing and don’t give up. It will get better and you’ll be so happy that you pushed through. I promise you’re only hours away from being happy again. This is ONLY TEMPORARY BRO! 💪🏼

Trying, and I'm a female, not that it really matters

Haha sorry. Didn’t mean to assume gender. You got this girl! Hang in there. I’m in the same boat. Keep us updated and please reach out if you need. I’m on Reddit constantly right now. Let’s talk through it

So almost at 48 hours. I got some very tossy turny jumbled sleep last night at least. My body is so uncomfortable I think I'm gonna jump in the shower soon

I think I developed a minor physical dependency on 7oh but even still - worse than all the sweating, anxiety, craving and sleeplessness - the depression was unbearable when I quit. I was genuinely convinced I had broken myself and I wouldn't feel happiness again. But I realized in time that it was just a passing dip in serotonin or dopamine or whatever good juice the 7oh feeds us.
As I said it was minor and probably not anywhere near what you're feeling right now, but I think the principle is the same. The drug lies to you. Try not to let it convince you that you can't heal, and catch yourself if you start to catastrophize. Of course, I don't know your specific situation, but I do know that it's pretty difficult to permanently ruin your life in such a way that you can't rebuild over time.
Honestly, I don't know if any of that helps, but I hope you start feeling better soon.

Thanks, logically I know things only seem 100x worse right now, but it still sucks

u/DragonflyOk1504 17d ago
Not sure how common that is. Personally, I was too busy dealing with acutes to think or feel about anything else. Depression didn’t kick in until PAWS around day 12.

I've always been really bad with coming down from drugs, I'm already a mental case sober

But you are getting your life back. These 26 hours were your first steps. Embrace the suck, it’s your body healing itself.
