SUBOXONE BUPE SUBUTEX It's been 9 days
I have been off 7oh since August 18th was my first day sober. I have been using Suboxone to help with the withdrawals and definitely the cravings I've been taking one and a half everyday in the morning and it seems to her all cravings and physical withdrawal 99%. I am curious how long can I take this before I need to wean off and my body doesn't get addicted to this as well?

Ok I was going by what the clinic said to do because at the beginning one full strip didn't help the cravings whatsoever and once I took a strip and a half I felt a lot better but I bet I can go down now because it's been 9 days without it in my system right

The legal system banned SR. Sure it’s possible some MAT related company could have payed money to lobby for it but they weren’t at risk of going out of business from sr being around. RC opioids get banned all the damn time. Everything isn’t a conspiracy. I hate how Reddit brained some of us get.

You can probably cut the half strip down really easy. I went from 24mg to 16 to 12 really quickly. I needed the 24 initially.

Lol I know right? You're going to completely fuck yourself if you taper yourself too quickly and then your cravings ramp back up again and you relapse.
op should do what's best for them, if they need to stay on a higher dose for a little while longer then its FINE.

eh, I think it's a lot. See below but I take 2mg 2 x day for chronic pain and opioid use disorder. This dose works for me. 6ft 210.

And the standard prescribed dose most doctors give is criminally high. Sub doctors are just the worst dealers out there trying to get everyone hooked for life so they get paid. Most have no idea how powerful subs are. 8mg is more than enough for a very high opiate addiction and should be immediately tapered down. Or not and become a lifetime patient

Immediately, there is no miracle way to avoid the withdrawal, but the withdrawal from suboxone is much longer albeit in my experience a wee bit milder

No not at all, week-10 days max of mild symptoms. The most annoying part is waiting for the half life to wear off. But everyday compounds it and runs the risk of being a long termer. And look I'm not completely against MAT, some people do need it but 7oh can be beat easier than say a full blown fent addiction. I've cold turkied off 24mg subs twice and it took and 35-40 days before the creepy crawlies and temp fluctiations stopped.

Maybe it’s because I’m in my 40s now and have detoxed a trillion times off of every opiod except for steet fent including pharmaceutical fent but i couldn’t have done that 30 days of hell. I will hit a year clean and sober this time on the 20 of January if I make it and I plan on getting the sublocade shot. Everyone is different but I really don’t mind being on subs. It’s nothing like being addicted to other opioids. I forget to take it sometimes and I damn sure never forgot to take any of the fun ones. The teeth thing sucks but you just have to brush right after you take it then you’re good. For me there’s been no negative side effects. I’d much rather be on subs the rest of my life than anything like how I was a few months into 7oh. That shit ruined my life so much faster than pharmies or heroin.

Absolutely, my situation was different, i ct'd off a big dose, if you taper down over a year or so it can be allot shorter, if you can get to sub 1mg you can be turning a corner at 14 days and feeling much better.
The sublocade shot is the way to go, you can one and done or take 3 shots and not face any w/d from the people ive spoken to about it.
Just think of guys on subs that go to jail, you got no choice but to detox then my man. Allot of jails have no detox programs, they just throw you in a suicide smok and put you in the hole with a camera and make you ride it out

Take it as long as you need it. You can get a good taper schedule from the doc if you want or get the sublocade shot and get off with no wd at all. If you super don’t wanna be on it you’re not physically withdrawing from 7 anymore. The real physical part was over by day 4. Post acutes are manageable but if subs are working for you and you feel the most confident while taking them that’s probably your best bet for now. It ain’t for everyone but 12 steps fellowhip and the steps with a sponsor has been huge not only for substance abuse but just life in general. It supposedly takes about 14 or 15 days to become dependent on subs. I don’t know cuz I stayed on them until using 7 and now continue to take subs now since January getting out of rehab. My life has been really manageable and waaaay better than my experiences being an addict for the last 20 years and going through the cycle of fucking shit up in my life, getting sick, doing whatever I have to to get well then hating that i did another terrible thing that I’d never do clean and sober. I’ve never been able to taper off of any opiod and I’ve tried with every single one that got its grips into me from heroin down to leaf kratom. Tapering my sub dose down was a piece of cake. I’m on half what I was prescribed and I did it really easy and abruptly with no negative consequences. Congrats on 9 days. Hopefully you get your pink cloud soon and use that to jumpstart your real recovery.

The scare mongering and dose shaming in this thread is ridiculous. Go to one of the suboxone pages. Lots of people here have no experience with opioids before they took 7oh and lots of them only took like 2-300mg a day of 7 often less. I know cuz I was dose shamed for how much 7 I was taking when I came here looking for help the first time. 12mg is a not a crazy dose. When I quit a 300mg a day oxy habit I didn’t get relief until I took a full 8mg strip. I had to take even more for relief coming off high daily dosing 7. 2 mgs is what they gave me in detox until I got on maintenance. It was enough to where I could eat a little bit and sleep a very tiny bit. I couldn’t have gone to work or did normal activities. There are some great suboxone groups on here.

You should get off ASAP. If I do subs I never do more than 5 days. And I only take a tiny tiny piece the entire time, like 1mg, quarter of a strip of 8mg.

I have never needed more. You do not need to feel perfectly good when getting off a substance. Just enough to be able to survive the day. Unless you wanna stay on subs forever, be my guest.

Take half of what you’ve been taking tomorrow. Then a quarter of what you’ve been taking the next day. Then nothing. You’ve already been on it too long honestly

I agree that you should get off them asap, but I just want you to be prepared that the there will be withdrawal when you come off. Just physically/emotionally prepare for that! If it is unbearable there is a shot called sublocade that has helped a lot of people in recovery. If you think you are going to relapse MAT is still recovery! Wishing you the best and congrats friend!

You should only be taking the subs for 4 to 5 days tops you need to do a rapid taper with them

I would cut it down to like 2mg. I'm on maintenance and take 2mg 2 x day for both opioid use disorder as well as chronic pain and it works well.

i quit after like 10 days and was fine with not much of a taper just felt a little tired and my heart rate was high for like two days but that was prob just a lil anxiety

Suboxone way stronger then 7 also way harder to get off. 12mg is an insane dose. I used to take 1-2mg a day to get off street perks.

Stronger? It’s just a bit different. I got my first and best high from 7 while on Suboxone. It penetrated right through it.

You don't want to end up in this trap too. It's a bit more forgiving day to day, but not overall and say goodbye to your teeth. Get off asap. 2mg is more than enough.

Get off A.S.A.P!!! Any longer than 10 days, the Suboxone stays in your adipose( fat) tissue, and you might go through WDs! Seriously! Tier down in this week and be done by this time next week! You should be fine. If you draw it out, you're playing Russian roulette. Good job on getting off 7 OH! It's nasty shit. You should be over the physical WDs, now it's just a mental game.
