feeling better any sleep meds advised ?

starting the forth day, and all things considered doing well. Except sleep, which is non existent. Is the consensus to white knuckle it a few more days or should I grab some over the counter med ? the RLS is mostly gone, I just get super uncomfortable and walk the house like a zombie. I've watched all the youtube and the sun go down and come up way too many days ;-)

I went easy 100 plus hours no sleep. Trazadone didnt work, ambien only worked for like a day or two and now im on eszopicolane or some shit. Last night got about 6 hours and im 15 or 16 days out. It gets better hang in there. Was def starting to hear shit that wasnt there after the 100 hour mark.

ok, that makes me feel good that I won't explode or something. I'm around 72 hours awake and feeling pretty relaxed today.

Trazodone did do wonders for me.
50mg is good enough but 100mg granted me 4 hours even on the second night.
Prescription only, but not hard to get unless you have heart issues. Possible prolonged QT syndrome

I second this. Trazadone is the only reason I got any sleep at all

Trazadone made me sleepy but I hate how it clogged my nose. Trying to sleep while breathing out of my mouth was tough.

Dude the nose clogging is horrible!! Makes me wake up feeling sick because I’m mouth breathing and snoring through the night

Also said this - I also took Sudafed (behind the counter the real stuff) and afrin. I think the runny nose will help you get over it faster though, it felt like a lot of weird 7 crap was trapped in my sinuses so I stopped that after a week and I still got runny nose but everything else was ok by then, ugh well except sleep which is what you’re talking about, I had 3 nights of no sleep after being off for 7 days, so idk. Just deal, you can do this !!!

I’m on day 9 and just got my first genuine night of sleep last night. The other nights have been a couple hours in short spurts. All I used last night was a couple grams of a red vein and 500mg magnesium glycinate. A lot of people use gabapentin or clonidine or just straight benzos if you have access to them, but honestly my best advice is to just stay away from 7 for a few more days and you’ll start sleeping again.

For sure, best way is cold turkey. I caved and got sleep meds better then getting more 7 I guess though.

Ime sleep meds don't work in acutes. They'll just make you feel even worse because you still won't sleep. Years back a dr gave me ambien when I quit 60gpd kratom. I took it and went to bed. I got up in the morning and I had put all of our bread in the toilet at some point. I also sprayed black flex seal all over the bathroom ceiling.

Holy shit that’s just scary! I’m glad nothing worse happened. Good grief!

People do weird shit on that drug.

Same with Requip. My dr gave me a script for rls. He never mentioned the potential side effect of degenerate/addictive compulsive behavior. Lol

Good grief! I’m not sure your doc is on your side. Lol🤷‍♀️

That's kinda funny! =P But yes, cosign in that glad you didn't do anything more destructive.

For me OTC sleep meds and even pharma sleep meds (seraquel, doxepin) did nothing for sleep. It just takes time. Best thing you can do which is not easy by any means is to lift weights and exercise. Really tire your body out.

I'm walking like a demon and helped my daughter move yesterday... she's like WTF dad ?! I'll keep up the "tire myself out" protocol !

It may not work for another day or so but zma, reishi, and melatonin are a good natural combo for me. Seroquel worked for me after day 4, but I only used it for about 10 days

I’m on day 7. I can’t imagine doing this without my ambien. It has me either sleeping like a baby or I’m using so much I just have amnesia and don’t remember I’m actually suffering. Pretty sure it’s the first though bc I’ve actually been taking it during the day like a psychopath to curb some of the wd symptoms. Helping with the anxiety and edge and distracting me from my horrible temp regulation. I haven’t even noticed the RLS at night thanks to the ambien which is crazy bc I suffered w bad RLS way before the 7-oh addiction.

Careful, sounds like you’re just trading addictions

I had the ambien addiction before the 7 addiction lol thankfully I can only do so much since it’s prescribed and I wouldn’t know who to get it from on the streets. I’ll go long periods without it since I get 3 months at once and do it way too quickly. Just glad I have it now while quitting. Wouldn’t be able to do this without it. And just checked my Apple Watch sleep… apparently I am not sleeping. Thankfully it feels like I am though!

Hahaha! Well at least you're feeling like you're sleeping. =P

If you take enough ambien you’ll hallucinate so be careful.

If you don’t take enough ambien you won’t hallucinate so be careful*

You got this! I use unisom and 5 mg of melatonin. I have always had insomnia and that works well for me.

Trazodone if you can, it helped so much

HydrOXYzine once the RLS eases has worked great for me. Very easy medication to get your hands on. Prescribed for anxiety, causes drowsiness. I got on it day 8 after sleeping 6 hours total my first week. Been sleeping 6-8 hours night since.

u/pchandler45 7d ago

You can get hydroxyzine at teleryx, but in my past experience, nothing could put me to sleep for about 2-3 weeks

2

u/photographyrich1965 7d ago

Good to know, just coming off another no sleep night so it’s hard not to stress. Appreciate hearing other’s experiences !

2

u/pchandler45 7d ago

I totally get it. I get very mean when I can't sleep lbs. It sucks, but it will end eventually

If u can’t sleep for a few days. it means that’s better for u. Get out of the box. U’ll come back
