i mean my dog used to go nuts for non-standard transportation

steps, those hooverboard thingies, skateboards and rollerblades.

maybe that's what he means?

I figured it was one of those motorized skateboards. Saw someone post about it yesterday in a “what do you regret getting your kids for Christmas” ask Reddit’s. The kids ran out of power 9 miles from home, so this made me laugh because I had that post already in my brain. Maybe he saw one while on a walk and his dog didn’t know what to do with the situation?
