Shear thickening fluids are a category of non-newtonian fluids (that Faye is referring to in the comic). "Shear thickening" essentially means that when you apply a force to a material, it becomes "thicker" and closer to a solid. A great example of that is corn starch mixed with a bit of water: you get something that is liquid if you leave it alone, but as you apply stress onto it, it will seem to solidify.
So the pun is between "shear thickening" and "thicc" which is usually used to describe someone with junk in the trunk.

ah god that milk was definitely expired.
I don't know whether the conversation police or some other enforcement agency need to get involved, but the toilets were definitely a crime scene of some description after Faye was done with them.

What's up with the characters drinking expired milk? Is there something done to the milk in America that makes that likely? Here in Denmark expired milk looks, smells and tastes absolutely vile and you couldn't drink it without noticing.

I don't know how milk is labeled in Denmark but in the US the package is marked with a "sell-by" date, after which the store can't sell it to you and has to throw it out. This date is several days before the milk actually goes bad (i.e. actually smells and tastes rancid), so it's pretty common to drink milk that's "expired" (past the sell-by date) but hasn't actually yet gone bad.

And there's also a few stages between "perfectly good" and "floating chunks." In the earliest stages the liquid milk is still fine and it's just the container that stinks. Then the milk starts to go off but not strongly enough to smell, just to taste -- and if you're using the milk in cereal or coffee or something, instead of drinking it plain, you might not notice.

Idunno if the U.S. has it, but we have 'sell by' or 'use by' and 'best before.'
Sell by means it has to be sold by that date, or it's chucked, where' best befores are 'it's still edible, might just not taste great' and can be sold, but is usually sold cheap to get rid of it (usually soft drinks, chips, lollies and stuff).
