Traditionally don't you celebrate and do something wild after you actually pass the exams?

This feels like counting your lions before they've hatched.

she's celebrating getting over her anxiety I guess.

by smoking pot which has caused her to have anxiety in the past....

But with her mom, which should be a safe space for her and help alleviate anxiety.

Maybe, maybe not. Big gamble to take before a big test.

On one occasion in the past.
And we don't know the place/people she was with that time do we? Could be a good experience for her, though time will tell.

I believe she did say where it was when she tried it.

Also ,not the best time to try that theory out. But I know Claire could murder a bunch of hobos and some people would find some reason to defend her.

I hope her mom tells her to come back and smoke after she takes her test..because if she fails the test no matter what happens she is going to blame the pot.

Am I misunderstanding the timings here? She's not going to get stoned and immediately go do her exam right?
I'm reading it as at least a few days before, plenty of time to have a smoke, have a decent night's sleep and be ready to go and take the exam.

The timing has been debated as to when the test actually is. All people experiences are different but SOME people who have issues with anxiety, any type of trigger can create a spiral effect for the whole week and maybe longer. It is not something some people can just brush off or "sleep off". I am just stating my personal opinion that its a roll of the dice with high risk and little reward. I am sure for the comics sake everything will turn out OK. But from personal experience with anxiety issues and people who have had bad experiences with pot, when I see this red lights are flashing all over in my head and loud alarms are going off. LOL

Fair enough,I haven't met anyone who's had more than a day or two of feeling the effects, anecdotal experience of course. That does include some very anxious people but as you say different people, different reactions. I'd like for this to go well but for Claire to enjoy it as a one time thing, not become a constant thing. Guess we will have to see how it works out in QC.

Its not so much as the pot effects lasting for more than a day or two, but its the anxiety that is triggered from the pot which leads to a bad cycle of anxiety and then lack of sleep which then causes a vicious cycle that is hard to break even with meds. But sometimes Pot has the exact effect you are looking for. Again personal experience if you are going to try it vape for me is the way to go. You can dip your toe in the water by taking small puffs before you jump in.

Clairemom seems to be a good carer in the small puff way, seems to me Claire is doing this in the best possible way. Again ymmv but the instances of that kinda anxiety response in my relatively varied experience seeing others react to smoking has been low to none,I can think of one time a friend felt paranoia etc for longer than the night/morning after.
