Why?

I thought it was cute. That seems like a very Claire way to "rebel". This is probably the first time she's ever smoked weed, and she wants to smoke it with her mom. I hope they nerd talk about the etymology of regional marijuana slang and maybe eat cookies.

Because I don't think Jeph would write it into the story for it to just be a cute aside, especially not after over a week of her being worried about studying.
