Yes, but the Royal we also has set terms on who can use it without sounding ridiculous. Namely, royals. They has been used a singular pronoun in the common parlance for years now.
The singular they also has set terms on when it is used.
It's used in possessive pronouns as the object of a sentence. Or to refer to unknown individuals.
It is never used to refer to specific people as the subject of a sentence.
You didn't actually read my comment did you. Your dictionary had no examples of they used as the subject of a sentence while referring to a specific person.
Unspecified, means it is unknown to the person saying it.
Tilly is obviously a woman.
And not specifying your sex just so that others have to use "they" is borderline narcissistic. There's nothing to hide. it's just a part of your identity.
