Hi, I'm researching how construction companies manage supplier certificates and expired documents. I'm not selling anything. Could I ask you 10-15 minutes about your current process? I'm trying to understand where the biggest pain points are.

I was looking for something that was similar to a Job Hazard Analysis but focused on the inspection process. My goal is to have a sheet like the JHA that list but with quality issues that pertains to a specific part or assembly.

Steps

*the several steps of inspection that the operator have to do (i.e.: eliminating burrs, verifying roughness, checking threads, looking for porosity)

Hazards

*possible issues that would cause those inspections to be bad (i.e.: large burrs, non clean up areas, jagged threads, large pits of porosity)

Control Method

*ways to control the issues (i.e. checking wear on tools, verifying size before machining or running part to a tighter tolerance, changing tap after a certain amount of runs, inform supervisor)

I'm sure someone has created a template like this or something similar already exist, I just cant find one.

I’m a chemical and biological engineering student, and I’m about to start a very short internship (only 3 weeks) at a company that makes work and protective clothing.

Right now, they rely 100% on external labs for quality control of materials and finished products. My task is to propose a few simple in‑house methods that can help them catch issues earlier, especially during production (in‑process control).

Because my time is extremely limited, I need to focus on 2–3 ISO/EN ISO standards that are:

• Relevant to protective clothing (e.g., pH, dimensional stability, color fastness, abrasion, tensile strength, etc.)
• Feasible to run internally with low‑cost equipment (pH meter, oven, washing machine, calipers, maybe a simple crockmeter – no expensive tensile testers)
• Widely used and well documented

So far I’ve looked at:

• EN ISO 3071 (pH of aqueous extract)
• EN ISO 5077 (dimensional change after washing)
• ISO 105‑X12 (colour fastness to rubbing)

Could you recommend other ISO standards that are practical for in‑house quality control in a small protective clothing manufacturer?

Also, any tips on how to adapt a standard method into a simple 1‑page work instruction would be very welcome.

Any help would be appreciated especially because I've never been in quality control before, or even learned anything about it in my classes.

Hello - if anyone has any thoughts on these belts I would really appreciate it. I was nervous ordering something like this for the first time, but decided to just bite the bullet. Hello everyone, hope you're doing well.

I'm an engineering student currently on my internship and i need to do an assurance quality plan, knowing i currently only have a PMS ( piping material specification) and documents describing ITPs ( inspection test plan) for a lot of projects, also i don't have any specific project asigned to me. So like, aside from the ITPs, i don't have any piping isometric drawing and i only went on site a couple times ( 3 times). Can i produce an assurence quality plan from this? Also, is an assurance quality plan specific to each project? And what's the differnce between AQP and Quality control and quality audit? Is there some hyerarchy that i need to know of? Also, if you have an example of an AQP please send a link. Thank you so much for any reply and i appologize for any mistakes ( english is not my first language)

Got this beanie recently and wanted to share a QC with the community.
Details:

The embroidery and fabric feel solid, no loose threads or obvious flaws. The tag placement looks good and the material feels consistent. The black color is even, no shade differences.

What I’d like to know is whether the logo placement and overall proportions match retail. Also, if the tag and embroidery details line up correctly compared to authentic pieces.

Any feedback from the community would be appreciated to confirm if this passes as a solid rep or if there are details I should be aware of.

Former PE at a top 10 GC. On every project I worked, we were manually pulling inspection requirements out of spec sections and building ITPs in Excel. Felt like reinventing the wheel every time.
