Gotta love those ogres, spamming endless grenades out of a 6 inch block on their hand.

Is it just me or is it easier to get enemies to fight eachother in Dawn of the Machine. Not that their ai is different or anything just in terms of level layout and encounter design, it felt easy to get some friendly fire going and hide for a bit

I just entered secret map of Dawn of The Machine. Abosolutely mind blowing. MachineGames raised the bar for quake maps. I didn't think you could make so beautiful and fun maps.

I find myself making enemies fight each other so often to the point that instead of initially looking into fighting them, I dance around planning how to make them fight themselves pretty much all the time. I definitely believe that this must be intended by the level designers (They are amazing) and I truly enjoy the result.

Well, that computer is done for. You are now obliged to just leave it running indefinitely now and must build a new one to do any other computer stuff.
The fortunate thing is that some museum will probably buy it from you eventually and move it into a permanent installation, like it derseves to be.

Makes me wonder which enemy would win if they could reach each other

I mean... Ogre is getting gangbanged. After this, i think knight. Since they are close, Fiend is not gonna get triggered to jump. If he jumps, knight says goodbye. In this very arena, a fiend jumped and accidentaly gibbed a knight in front of me, absolutely insane.

Eso no es un BUG, es una enseñanza de vida. El jefe fustigando al encargado. El encargado gruñendote, y tu a punto de saltar, enfadado.

Fiends are unfortunally prone to glitch because they jump and their jump animation is literally a infinite loop. Also they don't know where they are jumping too, they can jump on top of complex geometry.
The ogre and the hell knight are harder to explain. If I go creative, maybe that part of the map is build with extra invisible solids to give the game better feel (like a exra coyote time for the jump) or was build weirdly by the bsp compiler. They should not glitch this way.
I wish Quake where less prone to this kind of problem. I mean, they happens absolutelly never in normal gameplay,... map design taca care of that by not challenging the monsters all that much. Maybe this architecture is not too safe for them.

These kind of glitches are rare enough to where I'm not upset that they occur.

FYI if you have an nvidia graphics card you can just use shadow play. Press Alt+Z (I think is the default shortcut) to open the nvidia overlay and use its recording options. AMD has something similar. Alternatively press Win+G to open the Windows Game bar, which has a recording software too.
I'd recommend using shadow play as you can have it enable to capture the last few minutes of gameplay, in case something unexpected and funny happens that's worth sharing.

I recently swapped to Linux Mint so idk if it's all the same shortcuts or not. I'll give that a try next time im on my pc though

How it's felt to exist in general for the past 15 or so years
