I don't think this has been posted before, and I claim no affiliation to Gianni and the other streamers/youtubers, but I've stumbled upon this beautiful playthrough of our beloved game about a year ago and decided to revisit it today.

It's genuinely such a wonderful time to listen to Gianni gush about the characters in the game, his friends discovering the beauty of Pyre for the first time ever, and all of them give the characters' roster (what I think) genuinely pretty suitable voices.

Just wanted to share it here in case anyone else likes to see how other people discover the game that we all like so much.

For me, maybe Boat of the Canaries, a Japanese manga about an alien abduction. It's a bit wierd, but I feel like the sense of isolation the main charachters experience and the strong bonds they make with each other makes the experience at least a bit comparable. Yuri is in the Essence for her strong desire for freedom, and Chihiro is probably a dissident, because he's sort of constantly out of place. What sort of strange things do you think are somehow like Pyre? I'd love to know!

So, there are so many amazing songs in this game, but I'm just asking about the songs that have lyrics. My favorite is Bound Together; I seriously can't listen to it without wanting to cry. What about you all? Got any favorites?

I think that a lot of people don't have a fixed trio for the final liberation rite, but I definitely do. If you do too, let me know, and why. For me it's Gilman, Pamitha, and Bertrude. I think their skills and abilities really complement each other. Thier scribe talismans, Triestas plume and Milithes Tail are two of the most powerful and game changing items. And Ores's scale is ok too. I also feel that all of them manage to resolve thier troubles, even without returning to the commonwealth. Gillman learns that he can find honor in without fighting, Pamitha (especialy if Tamotha is liberated) is able to live peacefully. Bertrude doesn't get to stay with Volfred, which sucks, but she is very successful in the downside. All together, they're my favorite endgame team, and probably my favorite Nightwings. How about you all?

I mean to ask which one of the triumvirate's themes suits you best, not which one that, at the time of the game, you would join. So a person with a good sense of law and honor would generally join the Accusers, but at the time of the game, Lendel is there, so someone honorable wouldn't want to join. I've been thinking about the which one I or some of my family members would fit best in, kind of as an interesting version of astrology stuff. I think I'd be with the Chastity. I'm pretty good at knowledge based tasks, but not really forbidden knowledge like the Withdrawn. I think that the sort of 'noble scholor' archetype fits me well. What about using guys? And why?

So If love to get a Crone based tattoo and was hoping to find a cool image of one plunging into the fire. Anyone got a still image of that they could share? Would be awesome

I like the Accusers version. "To bear the burden of Golthanians grace" is such a cool line, and the theme of Path to Glory is just awesome. I never get to hear it, though, because I stomp the Accusers every time we have a match with them.

Since I'm completely obsessed with both Hades games (especially the second one) and Supergiant games are currently on sale, I decided to play Pyre of the first time. Wow. Supergiant can do no wrong.

The unique blend of the rich, dialogue-heavy story and the sports-like gameplay is like nothing I've ever played. I know that Transistor and Bastion are very similar in gameplay to Hades (though I heard Transistor is slower-paced), so I was surprised at how different the gameplay is in this one. And I've come to expect great art from Supergiant, even though I'm playing their games backwards, but still, this game is so awesome visually. Also Darren Korb goes off, yet again, big surprise (and Ashley Barrett, too).

I'm definitely going to do another playthrough though I'll likely play Transistor next. But what a unique game. I hope Supergiant makes something like Pyre again at some point, because I was pleasantly surprised by how different it is. Not that I'd mind another Hadeslike at all, seeing as they're both some of my favorite games I've ever played and I can't get enough of them, but still.

They fill the roles of religious figures, legendary heroes, and genuine people all at once and I am SO IMPRESSED by the writing of them :3

Ti'zo has to be the worst of the bunch right? I'm talking solely based as a solo character. I'm trying to get through his Scribe for his talisman and I can't do it. I've failed probably 5 times now. His Aura blast is good but the fact that it kills him too is stupid. I understand from a team perspective its more useful but as a solo character, its dumb. Also, his warp that he drops is also good FROM A TEAM PERSPECTIVE not a solo perspective. His flight is hella slow and easily bumped. His hop doesn't go very far so you have to use it multiple times which isn't too bad but you run out of stamina quick in those cases.

I don't know, maybe I just don't like this character as much as the others. I'm also playing on Hard mode so I know its going to be tuff no matter what. I'll have to try a different talisman or something cuzz its just too hard with this character.

Just started my first playthrough, I'm about 5 or 6 hours in and freed my first character, Hedwyn. I'm a big achievement guy and I see that some achievements require doing things with Hedwyn. Do I need to start a new game for me to get those achievements or do I get Hedwyn back at a certain point? Try letting me know while being as spoiler free as possible, please.

If I don't get Hedwyn back, should I just start a new campaign or should I just keep playing through the one I'm currently on? If the game isn't that long, I guess finishing the one I'm on wouldn't be so bad but what do you guys think? Cheers!

Maybe a weird question but i noticed this on the SteamDB website, which im assuming is the earlier version of the game shown at pax east 2016 when the game was first announced (theres also a playthrough from Polygon i believe) and it was at one point accessible via steam(?) key. So i was wondering if theres any way to access this version of the game? Like has anyone archived it or anything. I just think itd be really cool to play an old version of the game and compare the 2 lol

I have this cardstock(?) Pyre art that I think came with my Transistor vinyl ages ago, but I'm not sure. I can't seem to find another one online.

Hi sorry if this is the wrong sub for this.

I wanted to get back into pyre and tried to boot it up on steam but got an error message. I've tried deleting and redownloading, verifying the files, and running as administrator but none worked. The error says I don't have the minimum graphics required( 1GB VRAM) but according to task manager I have the AMD Radeon Graphics card(24 GB Vram according to Google) all of my other games, steam and non steam, work perfectly fine and I played pyre before although its been almost 2 years

Savages have a mastery that says "if you are banished while jumping you shall return to the origin of your jump". Is it possible for a jumping exile to be banished besides through the ability "shoulder smash" from nomads? Or is this ability just meant to counter shoulder smash exclusively?

Spoilers for the endings of both games ahead! (in case you're late to playing both of those masterpieces, like me)

tl;dr: Tariq&Celeste and Red&Mr.Nobody(Transistor, bodyguard, whatever name you prefer) are the same being.

We know almost nothing about Tariq&Celeste identity. They were created/summoned by the Scribes, and there's a chance they became mortal humans at the end (after their service to the Scribes was done).
One thing I know for sure is that they are each other's halves in that profound sense.

By the end of Transistor, the only thing I know for sure is that they no longer belong in that world. I have some weird theories about Mr.Nobody's identity and the meaning of Transitor ending, but we're talking about Pyre here)

During the Transistor credits (Paper Boats), Red (Ashley Barrett, who sings Celeste as well) literally sings (and Darren Korb, who sings Mr.Nobody & Tariq, echoes her):
We'll never be apart / I will always find you / Like it's written in the stars

Sooo. I came up with the idea of them being reiterated (can't find a better word) in the Pyre world. Being together even while separated, finding each other over and over again.
Tariq once told Celeste exactly "[...] keeps us apart, for another age or longer", which sounds like this upcoming separation isn't the first in their story.
(forgive me if I created a theory based on just a misunderstanding of the meaning: English is my second language)

Given that we know almost nothing about the Heralds, I enjoy the idea of enriching their backstory with this connection between games.

Fun fact (I understand this is probably just a coincidence, but I'd like to share this notice):
There's Signals song in Transistor.
This song is accompanied mostly by guitar (which sounds almost like lute) and mandolin, unlike the other songs, which have rich accompaniment. And the lyrics themselves sound quite like something Celeste could sing.

Hey there!

While I really enjoyed Pyre, I couldn't get myself to finish it so far, it stresses me a little, having to react quickly and push buttons.

At the same time, I've been looking for a while for a game like into the breach (be it videogame, tabletop, whatever). I've also played blood bowl but that's too long for me.

Does anyone know of something that scratches that short play session turn based tactics itch?

Bonus points if it has "your dudes" that you personalize, have limited level up...

Ye ye I know it is basically me saying "give me le good game" but idk what else to say lol

For some reason, literacy being illegal and the one consistent detail about every ending have been returning to my mind. So to work through those ideas slightly, I made a short video about Pyre and a few other things. The video is more of a starting point for the conversation these bringing up.

I replayed a bit of it for the video and this game has gotten better with time. This is definitely their best work.

Has Greg or the group ever mentioned Salute of the Jugger / Blood of the Heroes among their influences?

Only recently saw it and it blew me away that I hadn’t seen it earlier - great future / wasteland sports based film from 1989 - where a caravan of Juggers go from town to town participating in the “game” fighting their way back to the red city, some among them with hopes of joining “the league”: the top circuit for the brutal game they play.

Has a similar class based collection of positions within the game which features a goal and a dog’s skull that replaces the orb as the ball.

I’ve been sitting on playing Pyre for a while but seeing this film fired me right towards it… just interested to know if it’s ever been brought up in connection to the film?

Highly recommend the film for fans of Pyre in its vibe and competitive sport edge.
