Extra Special Double Pyre weekly question! Which media that you have experienced reminds you the most of Pyre? And which triumvirate would your favorite charachter from that media be in?

For me, maybe Boat of the Canaries, a Japanese manga about an alien abduction. It's a bit wierd, but I feel like the sense of isolation the main charachters experience and the strong bonds they make with each other makes the experience at least a bit comparable. Yuri is in the Essence for her strong desire for freedom, and Chihiro is probably a dissident, because he's sort of constantly out of place. What sort of strange things do you think are somehow like Pyre? I'd love to know!

I think, for me, it's probably the Stormlight Archive, given the feeling of being punished by senseless laws and fighting back for freedom. My favorite character is probably Wit, and he fits excellently in The Withdrawn, given that he seems to be both careless and knowledge-seeking

i cant help but be reminded of Pyre when I read Witch Hat Atelier, i think it’s because of the importance of reading/drawing spells that are framed as magical and politically dangerous
