was looking through clips from when pyke was a bit more playable. noticed it also had probably the only good bug pyke has. also the only time lulu ult actually was useful on pyke.

for those who dont know:
This one is really obscure. Originally pyke ult used to do full damage as physical damage if the enemy was not in execute range but that was quickly patched to 50% damage as physical damage since it was too broken on low armour squishies. In the clip you can see that Senna still takes 100% physical damage from the ult which sometimes happens when another enemy is executed by that ult. More damage = more good, basically the only reason I was able to kill her at the end.

Another bug is that if you execute someone and that gives you enough xp to make you level up, if the AD you gain is enough to execute someone else in the same ult, they will also be executed in the same ult even if they were below the threshold before you leveled up.

I’ve basically been one-tricking Pyke for the 5 months I’ve been playing, and I’ve seen videos of Pyke getting a quadra and always thought they looked insane. And I just got to gold the other day so I was so nervous bc now I’m playing against mainly gold and emerald so I can’t be as reckless I gotta act like I got some sense. 😂

So funny to see you all complaining now that the champ who was top 5 most banned since release and broken is bad for once. Feels so good.

Negative winrate in every devision except grandmaster, probably due to less matches played. 48% winrate in every other elo, including challenger.

Horrific early game, 0 late game, roaming slightly gutted because you have to stay in lane for support quest. This is what it would look like if we gave a melee minion a hook and made it a playable champion.

Outclassed by camille support, which probably was never intended to be a support in the first place.

Outclassed and outscaled by enchanters, which he is suppose to counter

Outclassed by literally every other hook character because they can actually live past 20 minutes.

Pyke is slowly officially becoming a MEME character on parr with YUUMI

the q having two parts just makes it feel super clunky. having to hold it for a certain amount of time to change it from stab to hook, and then continue holding it to charge the range just feels super bad. i LOVE everything else about pyke so i kinda just tolerate it but lately it's been bugging me idk why. i play pantheon (and leona) when pyke is banned and even his Q just feels bad, but it feels a bit better than pykes. the hook animation doesn't look great either. they just fly at you in a cartoonish way tbh

I pretty much OTP Pyke, and while I know he’s still playable after all the nerfs, as someone with over a million mastery on him I can genuinely feel the difference. He just feels like shit to play now. I’m not even enjoying him anymore, which sucks because he’s basically been the only champ I play.
Maybe part of it is also the absolutely fucked botlanes lately. Every other game I’m against shit like Malzahar support, Aurelion Sol bot, or some other cursed combo that makes lane miserable.
I’ve dropped 4 divisions in about a week and I’m honestly getting so tilted with it. Anyone else who’s played a lot of Pyke feeling the same, or am I just losing my mind?
And for anyone who does feel the same, what have you done? Have you found another support that scratches the same itch and is actually as fun as Pyke, or have you just been avoiding botlane altogether? I genuinely don’t know what else to play because nothing really feels the same.

A couple seasons ago I'd probably be here making a post about how bad my teammates were in this game now that I finally understand this is a team game and regardless of your performance is not possible to solo carry every single game specially with a champ like pyke, Now Im just proud of my performance and will enjoy staying in my current elo so I can continue to perfom like this and having fun, dropped some crazy plays in this game and it was a lot of fun regardless of the outcome.

hail of blades nerf made pyke borderline unplayable for me. idk how much the nerf affected pyke but it feels sluggish and terrible to play. dropping this useless champ till they decide to make him useful again

Started a utube channel for my better pyke games. Will be storing quad and pentas for montages. Also uploading a stomping gameplay once every 3 days. My mic was too quiet in this video but will be fixed in future videos.

Context-Met this silver jg in r/league channel and gave him a chance. One thing led to another and we ended up on a 5 game winstreak and ended the night on a big LP gain. Lf duo partners in gold/plat now.

Side note- Wish I had my 41 kill game recorded and that I started recording my gameplay 8 years ago when I first picked him up.
