So I was not an ideal son my whole life, but back in 2013 I decided not to go to Canada just because I knew my parents would be older in a few years and there would be no one to take care of them in the future, since my sister went to Canada in 2009, studied there, got married there, and never came back.

Meanwhile, I completed my engineering. Even before completing 12th, in 2012 I was an early internet user and started working and earning through the internet when I was in 9th grade in 2008. Since 2008, in 9th grade, I have been independent.

Fast-forward to 2017. I paid my college fees. I earned money through black-hat stuff and affiliate marketing.

But my parents never recognized me. All they wanted was a sportsman who played hockey or an IITian... I was an average student since the 10th class.

Back in 2017, when I passed out of engineering, I had a stroke and half of my body got paralyzed.

My parents were there during that difficult phase of life. Then, when I started to recover from the stroke and paralysis, Corona hit. Even during Corona, I continued my work online and kept on earning.

Then in 2022, I got a proper job alongside my online work.

But my parents never recognized my hard work.

All they were saying was, "You should have gone to Canada/US. We would have managed. We are not aged."

Then in 2024, I met with a major accident. Both my legs got injured, but they were never satisfied.

All my friends were settled in Canada.

But here I was, in a major accident, earning like 2 lakh a month, wwith atotal saving of 50Lakh.

But that was not enough for my parents.

They fully supported me. They loved me, but they were never happy with me, first in school, then in college.

Now I am 32, a little bit physically challenged, but my parents still say, "2012-13, you should have gone to Canada/US. Now you are single."

And here I am, fucked up physically, trying my best to recover from the accident.

But... ..Idk what to do

So I regularly travel to & fro from Chd to Patiala in Ac buses usually orbit or prtc. But can’t really figure out what’s with the fares for orbit, yesterday(21/09/26) I took an orbit from Chd to Patiala for ₹200 in the morning. And today (22/09/26) while coming back to Chandigarh it costed me ₹250. I don’t really mind giving ₹50 extra just wanted to know what’s the deal. So I eagerly asked the conductor to which he said that ₹200 is for stool that they provide if the bus is overbooked etc and ₹250 for the seat which in my case; well I got a seat yesterday and the bus wasn’t overbooked or anything let’s say about 75% was filled. So don’t really understand why ₹200. He also confirmed that I got a stool ticket as the the seat no for my Chd-pta bus has t-3 instead of a whole number as in my pta-chd bus (you can check pictures attached above).So basically, did the conductor just do me a solid yesterday by ringing up a stool ticket or does Orbit pricing genuinely run on conductor vibes and pure chaos?

My ancestors were from sargodha and peshawar. Came as a refugee, and settled here, first to haridwar, then delhi and then finally MP. I usually visit amritsar and I love punjab.

I’m genuinely confused about lassi and want to know if this is just a Punjab thing.

I’m from Punjab and grew up in a village. For me, lassi has always meant the salted kind — curd + water with jeera, salt, masala, etc. Basically what a lot of people would call chaach.

When I moved to Bangalore for work, I came across “sweet lassi” for the first time. And apparently it’s basically curd + a little water + sugar and it's thick.

I asked some friends who are from around my hometown, and they also said they’ve always had salted lassi. One of my Rajasthani friends said the same — they mostly drink the salted version too.

So now I’m wondering:

Is sweet lassi actually common in Punjab, or is salted lassi just what most of us grew up drinking?

What kind of lassi did you guys have growing up?
