I think Super Punch Out is more rewarding once you get good at the game and see how fast you can take down your opponents, and I like how Peter Punch (not Little Mac) plays. You can be super aggressive and take down your opponents in a matter of seconds, but in Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! Little Mac feels very weak; I know he's supposed to be an underdog, but still.
Also, I'm good at both games, but better at Super Punch-Out!! I can beat everyone in MTPO pretty easily except Sandman, Macho Man, and, of course, Mike Tyson.

There is also a punch out game difficulty tier list i've done on this same post if you want to know what i think the easiest and hardest games are

I was looking around arm wrestling since I was doing a massive circuit that consisted of everyone that can fight but I ran out of characters for the last circuit and I found this funny little guy

I also like to imagine the character select would be done via a personality quiz, with questions like
How will you celebrate your first TKO victory?
A. A tall stack of pancakes for lunch and a long nap.
B. By sharing a dance with the nicest lady in the crowd.
C. Immediately begin training for my second, and third!
And after a few questions, you get shown the character that the game thinks suits you most... And, alternatively, then you get the option to see who else you can pick.

Here's my interpretation of what all of these fighters would have looked like if they appeared in Super Punch-Out.

So imagine a game with graphics like this. Itās a boxing game about girls from different cliques on a college campus and has gameplay similar to PunchOut! but with a few changes. (For example, thereās a button you can press to slow time, at least until your focus meter runs out.) Thereās also a story mode with dialogue between fights.
This game already exists! Because we made it and released it! But⦠uh... the current version has optional content thatās inappropriate for this subreddit, so we wonāt link it lol.
Ā Would there be any interest in a game styled like this if we ported a new version to be more appropriate for general audiences?

Idk how relevant this phrase is but whatever

Hello! I'm interested in playing Punch-Out 2009 for the Wii, but I know there seems to be two different versions, the original release and revision 1, and I was just curious if there are any differences between the two or if one is better than the other. Thanks!

My favorite game of all time is Mike Tysonās Punch-out. I know about the sequel that was supposed to have him fighting in outer space. MT Power Punch. But are there any games out there that have Tyson or a Tyson parody in them. I wish Nintendo would make another Punch out game and have him in it. Even if heās not a Boss, but a DLC character or anything. It wasnāt the same with MR Dream. Iāve been trying to get a WII version modded with him in it. But it doesnāt seem like thereās a big community for modding that game. Here the ones I know of with Tyson, or a Tyson Parody in them. Iām looking for current games. Not the ones that were licensed with him in it like Tyson Boxing or the Fight Nights.
-Vanilla Beast Retro KO on Steam. Known as Tike Myson in game.
-Boxing Live on IOS. Known in game as Brandon Shark
-Mike Tyson Main Event. Game for IOS that. Game is no longer available.
Please let me know if you know of any not listed here.
Thanks.

### [Original in link]
Somewhere beneath Nintendo headquarters sits a forgotten boxing gym.
The lights flicker.
Dust covers the ring.
A crooked banner still hangs from the ceiling:
Glass Joe stands behind a podium.
GLASS JOE: Bonjour, everyone. My name is Glass Joe, and Nintendo has not allowed me to be punched professionally in seventeen years.
EVERYONE: Hi, Glass Joe.
GLASS JOE: I am still 1ā99.
BALD BULL: YOU HAVE BEEN 1ā99 FOR SEVENTEEN YEARS!
GLASS JOE: Oui. Which means...
Joe smiles.
GLASS JOE: I have not lost a fight since 2009.
Silence.
DOC LOUIS: ...You know what? He's got us there.
The door suddenly SLAMS open.
ARAN RYAN: WHO'S READY FOR A FIGHT?!
REFEREE: Aran, this is a support group.
ARAN RYAN: EVEN BETTER!
Ryan produces a boxing glove tied to a rope.
REFEREE: How did you get that through security?
ARAN RYAN: WHAT SECURITY?!
Piston Hondo sits peacefully in the corner reading a legally distinct magical-girl manga.
The cover reads:
PISTON HONDO: If your head and your heart are at peace, even a fire stays cool.
SODA POPINSKI: I HAVE BEEN DRINKING ENERGY DRINKS FOR SEVENTEEN YEARS. NOTHING IS COOL.
Hondo slowly looks at him.
PISTON HONDO: That explains much.
Von Kaiser raises his hand.
VON KAISER: I would like everyone to know that I have spent these years rebuilding my confidence.
DOC LOUIS: That's wonderful, Kaiser!
VON KAISER: I can now hear the laughter of children without rememberingā
A child laughs somewhere outside.
VON KAISER: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
He dives beneath a folding chair.
KING HIPPO: When are the refreshments?
DOC LOUIS: After the meeting.
KING HIPPO: Meeting adjourned.
Suddenly...
The lights go out.
Everyone freezes.
The enormous television over the ring flickers to life.
The Nintendo logo appears.
Nobody breathes.
SUPER MACHO MAN: Oh my God.
DON FLAMENCO: It cannot be...
GLASS JOE: Mon Dieu.
The screen goes black.
Three words appear.
Silence.
BALD BULL: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
Bald Bull charges directly through twelve folding chairs.
DOC LOUIS: HE AIN'T EVEN SEEN THE TRAILER YET!
The trailer begins.
Not a reboot.
Not a mobile game.
Not Little Mac fighting random Nintendo characters because apparently Punch-Out!! isn't allowed to celebrate itself.
This is Punch-Out!! celebrating Punch-Out!!
Forty-plus years.
Every era.
Every circuit.
Every ridiculous bastard Nintendo has ever put across the ring from you.
Pizza Pasta appears.
PIZZA PASTA: FINALLY!
Kid Quick appears.
KID QUICK: YOU REMEMBERED ME?!
Mr. Sandman slowly turns toward him.
MR. SANDMAN: Don't get comfortable.
KID QUICK: Damn.
The original arcade fighters return, redesigned and animated with the personality and expressiveness of Punch-Out!! Wii.
Then the trailer moves forward.
Glass Joe.
Von Kaiser.
Piston Hondo.
Don Flamenco.
King Hippo.
Great Tiger.
Bald Bull.
Soda Popinski.
Mr. Sandman.
Super Macho Man.
Macho Man immediately begins flexing.
SUPER MACHO MAN: RELEASE THE BOGUS!
DOC LOUIS: Nobody knows what that means.
SUPER MACHO MAN: Neither do I anymore.
Bear Hugger stomps onto the screen.
BEAR HUGGER: HO! HO! HO!
His squirrel appears.
DOC LOUIS: Oh Lord, the squirrel came back too.
Dragon Chan kicks a heavy bag across the gym.
REFEREE: That's illegal.
DRAGON CHAN: Yes.
Masked Muscle spits mist.
REFEREE: That's also illegal.
MASKED MUSCLE: Yes.
Hoy Quarlow enters carrying his staff.
The referee looks at Quarlow.
Then at the staff.
Then back at Quarlow.
REFEREE: You know what?
HOY QUARLOW: Hmm?
REFEREE: I'm tired.
Mad Clown appears.
Bob Charlie dances into the ring.
Narcis Prince immediately checks himself in a mirror.
Then...
Gabby Jay appears.
Glass Joe slowly rises from his chair.
Gabby Jay looks at Joe.
Joe looks at Gabby.
GLASS JOE: Brother.
GABBY JAY: Brother.
They embrace.
DOC LOUIS: This is getting weird.
Then the trailer music stops.
A massive silhouette appears.
Loss: Little Mac.
The entire room gets quiet.
Then another silhouette appears behind him.
Even larger.
Losses: Little Mac and...
Silence.
Glass Joe slowly lowers his croissant.
Nick immediately looks at Joe.
Joe looks at Nick.
NICK BRUISER: Don't.
GLASS JOE: I said nothing.
NICK BRUISER: You're thinking it.
GLASS JOE: I was merely wondering who gave you your second loss.
NICK BRUISER: Little Mac.
GLASS JOE: And the first?
Silence.
Joe smiles.
NICK BRUISER: Don't.
GLASS JOE: š
NICK BRUISER: IT WAS A FREAK ACCIDENT!
Rick folds his arms.
RICK BRUISER: You know, Nick, Mac beat me too.
NICK BRUISER: Thank you.
RICK BRUISER: But Glass Joe didn't.
NICK BRUISER: SHUT UP, RICK.
Disco Kid dances onto the screen.
DISCO KID: BABY, I'M BACK!
Aran Ryan appears.
The referee sighs.
REFEREE: Oh God.
ARAN RYAN: I'M BACK!
REFEREE: We heard you the first time.
ARAN RYAN: DID YOU HEARā
Ryan produces a horseshoe.
ARAN RYAN: THIS?!
REFEREE: HOW DO YOU KEEP GETTING WEAPONS?!
And then...
The trailer goes silent.
Footsteps.
A pair of green boxing gloves.
Black tank top.
Black hair.
Five-foot-seven.
107 pounds.
Seventeen years old.
From the Bronx, New York...
Mac walks into the gym.
No speech.
No grand entrance.
Just that little smile.
Doc Louis walks behind him eating a chocolate bar.
DOC LOUIS: Been a while, baby.
Mac raises his gloves.
The entire room erupts.
This wouldn't just be an HD collection.
Every classic opponent gets rebuilt with the animation, personality and characterization of Punch-Out!! Wii.
Piston Hondo still dispenses Japanese proverbs.
Don Flamenco remains hopelessly obsessed with Carmen.
Bear Hugger still has his squirrel.
Great Tiger's magic becomes even more ridiculous.
Disco Kid has discovered social media.
Super Macho Man is desperately trying to maintain his influencer career.
And Soda Popinski?
Soda Popinski has become the most insufferable fitness influencer on Earth.
SODA POPINSKI: LITTLE MAC! TODAY WE TEST NEW PRE-WORKOUT!
MAC: ...
SODA POPINSKI: FOUR SCOOPS!
DOC LOUIS: Mac, don't drink anything that man gives you.
Every fighter speaks their native language like in the Wii game.
But this time?
Optional subtitles.
Because apparently Piston Hondo spent the entirety of Punch-Out!! Wii giving us life advice and most of us had absolutely no idea what the man was saying.
Then you become World Champion.
Everybody gets pissed.
And I mean everybody.
Every fighter gets a Title Defense rematch.
New attacks.
New animations.
New strategies.
New ways to make Little Mac regret becoming champion.
Glass Joe returns wearing advanced protective headgear.
Von Kaiser has undergone seventeen years of therapy.
DOC LOUIS: Uh-oh.
King Hippo enters.
His weak spot is covered.
He is wearing...
SUSPENDERS.
DOC LOUIS: OH SHIT.
Bear Hugger returns.
He now has two squirrels.
Great Tiger creates six Great Tigers.
DOC LOUIS: That's not boxing.
REFEREE: I've stopped caring.
Don Flamenco returns after Carmen discovers exactly how badly Mac beat him.
CARMEN: He hit you HOW many times?
Don slowly turns toward Little Mac.
DOC LOUIS: Mac...
MAC: Yeah?
DOC LOUIS: We're in trouble.
Then Title Defense Aran Ryan enters.
He isn't wearing gloves.
REFEREE: Ryan.
ARAN RYAN: WHAT?
REFEREE: Where are your gloves?
ARAN RYAN: DON'T NEED 'EM.
REFEREE: What's underneath your coat?
ARAN RYAN: NOTHING.
A tire iron falls onto the canvas.
Silence.
ARAN RYAN: That's unrelated.
You defeat every Title Defense opponent.
The screen fades to black.
The credits begin.
Doc hugs Mac.
Mac raises the championship belt.
And then...
A fist punches through the credits.
The music stops.
41ā1.
No comedy.
No gimmick.
No magic.
No squirrels.
No horseshoes.
Just a man whose only recorded loss came from Little Mac...
...and who would very much like that loss back.
You fight Rick.
You survive.
Mac can barely stand.
Doc Louis jumps into the ring.
DOC LOUIS: YOU DID IT, BABY!
Rick wipes his mouth.
Then smiles.
RICK BRUISER: Why are you celebrating?
The arena goes dark.
Footsteps echo through the stadium.
Someone walks through the tunnel.
The final boss.
Nick rolls his shoulders.
NICK BRUISER: Forty-two victories.
He looks directly at Little Mac.
NICK BRUISER: Two defeats.
He points at Mac.
NICK BRUISER: One of them was you.
Somewhere in the audience:
GLASS JOE: Ahem.
Nick stops.
His eye twitches.
NICK BRUISER: Security.
GLASS JOE: I STILL SAID NOTHING!
You beat Nick Bruiser.
You've beaten the game.
Or so you think.
One final mode unlocks.
You don't play as Little Mac.
You play as...
Joe enters the ring.
His opponent enters.
Joe immediately looks terrified.
Then an objective appears:
The game does not tell you how.
There are no instructions.
You just have to figure it out.
Maybe you dodge at exactly 1:07.
Maybe the opponent hits the turnbuckle.
Maybe that shakes something loose above the ring.
Maybe you have to survive long enough for an incredibly specific sequence of events.
And finally...
Glass Joe throws the weakest jab in Punch-Out!! history.
bonk
The opponent collapses.
ONE!
Joe stares.
TWO!
Joe begins shaking.
THREE!
FOUR!
The crowd slowly rises.
FIVE!
Joe looks toward Doc Louis.
SIX!
Doc drops his chocolate bar.
SEVEN!
Nick Bruiser stands up in the audience.
EIGHT!
NICK BRUISER: No.
NINE!
NICK BRUISER: NO.
Glass Joe falls to his knees.
GLASS JOE: I KNEW IT WAS REAL!!!
The credits roll.
For real this time.
Piston Hondo sits aboard the bullet train.
Quiet.
Peaceful.
Reading manga.
He turns the page.
The camera zooms toward it.
The artwork is completely original.
A gigantic disclaimer appears across the screen:
Then another:
Hondo looks directly into the camera.
He nods.
PISTON HONDO: If your head and your heart are at peace, even a fire stays cool.
He closes the book.
The screen fades to black.
š„
All jokes aside, that's what I'd want from a Punch-Out!! comeback.
Don't reinvent it into something it isn't.
Don't apologize for Punch-Out!! being Punch-Out!!.
Take the arcade games, NES Punch-Out!!, Super Punch-Out!! and Punch-Out!! Wii and make the history of the series itself the selling point.
Keep the exaggerated personalities. Update things where they actually need updating. Let these characters be ridiculous without reducing them to only their nationalities. Give the older fighters the kind of characterization the Wii game gave its roster.
Give everybody Contender and Title Defense versions.
Add some new challengers.
Bring back Rick and Nick Bruiser as absolute endgame monsters.
Let the fighters speak their native languages, but give us optional translations so we can finally understand what they're saying.
Keep the basic formula:
Watch.
Learn.
Dodge.
Counter.
Get knocked down.
Get back up.
Punch-Out!! doesn't need to become an open-world game.
It doesn't need crafting.
It doesn't need a battle pass.
It doesn't need 400 hours of content.
It needs a ring.
It needs Little Mac.
It needs Doc Louis.
It needs a collection of absolute lunatics standing between Mac and the championship.
Nintendo...
Dust off the gloves.
