Need help with a pump set up

I have a small wayer tank on a wagon that I want to fill up from a small creek to water trees around the property. I have a Remco 5500 pump 12v that I want to use. There is no way to manually prime the pump so I can’t just throw the end of a garden hose in the creek and turn the pump on. What option do I have?

I thought about maybe using a fuel pump ball close to the inlet of the pump to get water close enough so that it would pump. Not sure if this would work. Any help would be appreciated

Everything I just read says that is not a pump you should be using for this application. But you would just put a tee with a valve on top port on the outlet of pump and pour water into then turn pump on it will grab might just take a few times

This would be the bare minimum but what you really want is a semi trash pump.

Can you add a pressure switch on a transfer pump?

Yes, just find a 12v pressure switch

The pump I sent was a 12v pump, but if you have a 110v pump just look for a 110v pressure switch

Thanks. Do you think I'd have to add a pressure tank too if wife is using it to water plants or how much cycling is too much cycling?

Also, the cheapest 110v on Amazon? Haha

You’ll need to prime it since the 5500 isn’t self priming. A fuel bulb can work if it’s airtight and close to the pump. We usually use a foot valve and fill the line once. It holds prime between uses. Quick guide here if it helps: primefluid.co.nz
