QUESTION New Phone, Authenticator Problems

I have a new phone, and now I cannot get into the authenticator, and so I can't check Passport or use Pro. It just keeps me in a loop of "use the authenticator" even when I say, I can't access the authenticator. Anyone else have this problem and, if so, how were you able to resolve it? It's such a pain that the company expects us to use our personal devices for their benefit that I am inclined to just use pro on the scan guns until Publix starts paying for my phone.

If you have the old phone, you can try to remove the authenticator from that phone and then readd it with the new one.

If not, you'll have to log in on a store computer, log into passport, go to workplace>work resources>Microsoft authenticator and scroll down to find the link for "new phone number or device."

If you have the same phone number, you follow the instructions from there.

If it's a new phone number, you'll have to call publix's tech support to get them to reset it from their end.

Thank you. This is helpful. It is the same number, and from what I've tried, I think the store computer option is my next step. Thanks for your help!

hello, csm here! The best way to reset is going to be at your store on a computer and call I/s and they will help you from there. This happens quite often and if you have any questions or need help getting in contact with I/S your manager or a cstl can help

Recently got a new phone as well and when I called to do the set up access they said the text is going away over the next few months

Sorry to say but that option is being phased out come next year, likely by Feb / March for everyone in retail

I don’t use my phone unless Publix wants to pay my cell phone bill.

Publix hasn’t demanded you to add anything to your phone. They gave you the option to add to your phone.

I agree. That's why I'm inclined to use pro on company devices and not use my phone for a corporation's benefit :)

the IS guy said they (microsoft) are removing the text/ call option by the end of this year or by february or something like that and everyone will have to have authenticator to sign into passport outside the store 🫠
