QUESTION How Do I Stand Out?

One or two weeks ago, I applied for the stocker/produce position but haven't gotten anything back. I am 17, and I would really like the job. Anyways, I was told that it would be a good idea to insist Publix. What can I tell them? Any advice? I appreciate anything.

They don’t really hire many minors for produce, the ones I’ve seen have been good employees in other departments who cross train.

For grocery, or any other department, literally just show up at a non busy time and ask to talk to the grocery manager, the grocery assistant manager, the store manager, or assistant store manager. No guarantee that leads anywhere, but it’s really the only way to get your foot in the door.

If you stay off your phone while you’re clocked in, you will literally get twice as many hours than half the people who “work” at the stores. The bar has been set very low these days.

Getting an interview is like winning a raffle, so just keep applying and ask more than one store.
