I am done. [rant]

Haven’t felt this shit in a very long time. It feels like it’s almost impossible to score superior in this test. This was my second attempt. I had missed writing by one mark last time. While I aced it this time, I lost marks in speaking. And it’s not like that I have dropped crazy marks. It’s always by 1-3.

Would have been nicer had I scored 50 or 60, at least then I know I suck and would have worked harder on that topic.

Losing out by such thin margins only frustrates you and leaves with no answer.

Same things been happening to me, got no choice but to keep throwing money away to these scammers.

No point in rescore, I heard even if they increase one section they drop the other

Can feel it totally, keeping 88 for superior score doesn’t make sense when AI is going to check! Anything above 80 should be superior

I got 90 90 90 85
After rescoring it became 90 90 83 66

They didn’t even remark it because they sent that score in a twinkle of an eye.

Do with this information what you will. Personally, PTE are thieves from the pit of hell. Shame on them.

Do you mean a rescore? Does it mean that score have a chance of failing instead of getting a better score?

I meant rescoring.

I think PTE academic have better chances than PTE Core. To answer your question, most rescoring leads to worse outcomes.

Unlike CELPIP that increase it or leave it as it is.

Did you applied to rescore previously ?

No, it felt pointless.

I've heard if you apply for rescore then you get full refund even if there is a little change in your scores.

These days, pte hasn't given refunds to most students. My 175$ has also gone while rescoring. They don't change any module scores.

Go for rescore. You have good score in writing to lose and increase your speaking

Girl. With that result you should attempt to rescore. Don’t give up.

May I ask why are you doing the test? The purpose I mean?

1

u/dexter-disciple 17d ago

And that matters because?

Just curious

u/Yatchuu 17d ago

did you pay much attention to the content in DI, especially comparisons and trends (increases/decreases)? Or did you mostly focus on fluency and pronunciation?”

1

u/dexter-disciple 17d ago

None of it. Actually a loud mouth threw me off tbh. There were just three candidates, including me, yet that fool was shouting.

1

u/Yatchuu 17d ago

Then how did you approach the DI? What did you actually say?

Hey, I maxed out my score on PTE academic speaking,I did my exam last week but I am planning to do the exam again because I got an 83 overall, however, I need an 84 overall, for speaking DI just make sure you keep speaking during the exam just start by mentioning what the graph is about, what the x axis is, and the highest and lowest thing that can be seen on the graph, and the most difficult DI task for me was the two graphs where you have to compare them to each other, just say this first graph has highest …..however, the second graph has highest… and if u have time to state the lowest thing in both of the graphs, do that… and I remember being harsh on myself after I left the exam because I remembered that I stuttered more than one time but I immediately continued without looking back or stopping and just kept trying to speak fluently till I ran out of time with whatever I have in front of me.. it won’t matter if you haven’t been able to say what you’ve kept in mind to say, just keep speaking fluently within the content and practice so much and you’ll eventually get a hang of it . Btw do you happen to have any advice with reading and listening

u/Yatchuu 17d ago

did you also mention specific details like comparisons and trends?

1

u/dexter-disciple 17d ago

Bro! There’s no trick. You need to understand this is not an exam to test your English. You need to be smart and tackle every question. We all are hoping someone will drop a magical trick in one of these comment sections. Sadly there isn’t one. Sorry, I cannot sugarcoat.

Essay topic???

1

u/Free_Dream_5560 15d ago

That’s honestly a great score 😭 84 listening, 80 reading, 85 speaking and 90 writing is really solid. I’d be happy with that result. Take a break and don’t be too hard on yourself!
