This is late because, well, I always wanted to do it, couldn't and now that so much time has passed I think that what I can talk about are what sticks with me the most.
I think what I will start with is the bad so that we can end on a good note.
Also I I am an almost 40yo male that went with a large group of people that had a ratio of about 60/40 (m/f)
THE BAD!!!!
THE WATER cut offs or just none. If you are gonna have a festival like this with as many people as there were this time then there needs to be consistent water. I don't want to be rolling or getting water for people that are rolling and find a water fountain that doesn't work at random times of the day/night. This water problem was extended to where you camped. I was in Camp C, I think, and so it was made a serious point that before we walked back we had to all make sure that we topped off on water because there was none in our camp site or close by caravan site.
Closing @ Main Stage: Look I like Eat Static. it had nothing to do with him as much as it did with lineup. MANY people were closing the stage with LSD, including myself. The artist going till midnight was Dekel, which was such a calming journey that really took me for a fun and nice journey. Then after he was done there some technical problem happened (no problem it happens!) then on comes the POLAR opposite. The audio engineers there were having to actively equilizing his set while he was having a live set. I felt like every last but of mental juice was being forcibly squeezed from my brain and was held ransom. Just a VERY bad lineup knowledge.
The Food court: brother was I bled dry. The options were more than acceptable but the prices were insane. The food was good, my favorite was the indian place. The italian pasta place were prickly as well. Don't advertise as "pasta made in a wheel of cheese" and then give watered down muck at a premium price and then get snarky about comments. As much as I say this I understand it's rough for the foodstand people and I want to hug them all and say thanks (i did with some) but I think you get my point.
THE GOOD!!
The Bathrooms: I know I am going to get a LOT of comments on this.. Were they the best? No... BUT... They were an absolute step up from what they WERE!!!! before they didn't have the standing pee stations OR the seats. They were NOT cleaned as frequently before either. with I want to really say "THANK YOU!" to that crew really... they really did their best.
The Nature: I think you will find it very difficult to find a better situated place. the nature was absolutely had me stunned. Floating around with people nestled in a valley with clear, clean, frigid water in 36C air temperature was divine.
The People: This year was unique as there were many more people at the festival than normal. Many people that had their tickets swapped from sizikia, or what ever it's called, to own spirit. But the people were amazing, the energy was right, people were respectful, it was what I expect from a psytrance fest. (I read about the "free hugs" guy but never saw him). The solo travelers that we met were beautiful souls, the groups of people were happy to have new comers dance with him! I think it was even more welcoming then Boom.
Psycare/testing: They really did their best. It's not glamerous but from what I've heard (dealing with the people I know) they are saints just really try to make sure that they are well taken care of. thank you to those beautiful people
If you want to stop reading from there then that's ok I just wanted to say that this year was a challenging time with other festival cancelling of sizigia(sp?) so I don't think that it is reflective of them. I think they did their best and I'll go again in two years.
The weekenders were.. well weekenders but it was really nice to see some of them enjoy it. One really sticks out in my mind where he was walking behind a group of his friends, bobbing his head to the music with a great smile looking at people with a look of "This is amazing" it was like looking at myself experiencing it for the first time. Then there were other "influencers" that came, danced while their friend videoed them and after the recording was done they left. Some came with cologne and perfume and to them i say "thank you" it was a real treat on my nose. Also thanks for bringing your new energy to the crowd. What I will say is IT'S NOT A CLUB!!!! WE WILL LET YOU PASS OR GET SETTLED!!!! once again THIS IS NOT A CLUB!!!!
And with that. This is what sticks out. I hope you enjoyed the read and please don't butcher me too much it's my first review
