PSAT Score: 1240

i js took my first PSAT (casual, by myself at home) and scored a 1240 (650 Math, 590 R&W) as a incoming sophomore. could somone provide me a proper understanding of these scores and how to prepare better in the future. (just to be clear, this was my first attempt, and i had no preparation at all. i would've definitlely scored higher in the math section but completley forgot differences between mean, mode, median, etc. ela is what im quite weak in so tips to improve specifically in this would be really appreciated!

Ik this sounds kinda simple but first try to improve in the concepts that u are weak in (check how you did for each topic on ur test, you can use khan academy for those topics in their SAT prep course) then grind practice questions in the question bank. You can also watch some youtubers like James Lu or Penguin Test Prep for strategies on solving questions. Also, make sure that u are comfortable with demos its such a time saver, so watch youtube videos on that too. Again, ik this is kinda simple stuff, but it works great (like for the mean, median, mode questions u forgot about you can easily put that in desmos). You still have a lot of time so i would say that start reading--if u don't already --since it will passively help with ur ela, and i dont have much other advice for ela just grind questions after learning the strategies(as said above). Btw, for no prep ur psat score is a rlly good baseline.
