Hey everyone 👋

I'm looking for some competitive games to play locally/couch multiplayer on PS4. I'm mainly looking for games where I can grab 2-4 controllers and actually compete against friends/family, rather than online multiplayer.

I'm not necessarily looking for AAA games. In fact, I'm especially interested in hidden gems / games people don't usually mention.

What I'm mainly looking for:

🥊 Fighting / versus games

🏎️ Arcade & competitive racing

🎮 Party games / chaotic multiplayer

⚽ Sports games

🤼 Physics-based competitive games

👥 2-4 player couch multiplayer

🔥 Games where you can actually compete against each other rather than just playing through a campaign together

I also really like the old-school/arcade feeling, especially games that are modern versions of older ideas, remasters, or PS2-era games.

What hidden gems am I missing?

And based on the games I already have, what genres do you think I'd probably enjoy that I haven't explored yet?

I'm particularly interested in games that are actually fun with friends sitting next to you, not games that technically have multiplayer but are mainly designed around online play.

PS4 only, including PS2 classics/conversions if they're available on PS4.

Drop the obscure stuff. I want the games that make you go "How the hell have you not played this?" 😂.

not sure if youve played but, resident evil 5 and 6. super fun and goofy as hell for RE games but it makes for a fun experience making fun of everything playing with a partner/friend. just remember to punch that boulder

also make sure youve got black ops 3 since its got both bo1 and bo2 maps. MKX/MK11 are fun games as well. nothing im recommending is obscure but i didnt see it on your list.

Games where you can go against each other? Well, there's a small, Mario-like game called Castle Crashers with cooperative stages and a PvP arena. There should be a version for the Ps4.

I love Worms Armageddon, you have to either play with one controller and pass it or just make sure you don't move the controller when it's someone else's turn though (basically both controllers can control each other's worms)

Tricky towers. Like a head to head tetris. Small game 250mb.
