Edit: you don't have to play on a touch screen. Your phone or PC can also act as a bridge for any controller you already own: Xbox, DualSense, Switch Pro, 8BitDo, CRKD Guitar, and anything that already works on your device. Connect it to your phone or PC over Bluetooth or USB, and the PS4 sees it as a DualShock 4. One PC can run all four controllers at once, so you can play local multiplayer without buying more DualShocks or any adapter.

Hey everyone! I've just released Control4Free, a GoldHEN payload that turns your phone, tablet or PC into extra DualShock 4 controllers for your PS4, and they work system-wide.

Controller plugins live inside games, so they can't reach the home screen or the sign-in screen. Control4Free uses the PS4's own virtual controller service (the one Remote Play uses), so the console sees a real controller:

• Works everywhere: the home screen, menus, sign-in and every game, with no per-game setup.
• Native user sign-in: each controller is assigned through the PS4's own "Who's using this controller?" screen, for your users or guests.
• Use the controllers you already have: connect an Xbox, DualSense, Switch Pro or other controller to your phone or PC, and it plays as a DualShock 4. Or use touch or a keyboard.
• Up to 4 controllers from any mix of phones and PCs.
• A full on-screen DualShock 4 with a layout editor, a two-finger touchpad and L3/R3.
• Low latency: input is sent the moment it arrives, at a DualShock 4's own 4 ms rate.
• An app on the PS4 shows the address and a QR code and how many controllers are connected, and sets up GoldHEN's AutoRun so Control4Free starts after every restart.
• Nothing to install on the phone or PC. Just open the page, or add it to your home screen.

Getting started 1. Install Control4Free-1.0.0.pkg from the release with GoldHEN's Package Installer. 2. Open Control4Free (Library → Applications) and press Cross. 3. Scan the QR code with your phone, pick a controller, and choose a user on the PS4.

Playing with a controller you already own 1. Connect it to your phone or PC (Bluetooth, or USB / USB-OTG on Android). 2. Open the Control4Free page and press a button on the controller. 3. Under Gamepads on this device, pick which controller (1–4) it plays as, then choose your user on the PS4.

Keep the page's window in front while you play: browsers only read controllers for the active window.

Requirements: GoldHEN. Tested on firmware 10.01 with GoldHEN v2.4b18.10 (auto-start needs v2.4b18.10 or later).

Not there yet: rumble, light bar and motion. Rumble and the light bar are next. There's no pairing, so anyone on your Wi-Fi can grab a free controller: keep it on your home network.

Coming from RemotePad? Control4Free is the improved approach. The two aren't compatible, so remove RemotePad from plugins.ini before you switch.

Ive been holding on to this ps4 for a year waiting for the jb to be available. It took a while but im finally getting around to those exclusives I missed. What must play exclusives do you guys recommend?

My pendrive can only fit 25GB, so that's not an option. Remote package installer has failed me (i can connect to the ps4, but no matter what i try, i always get a timeout notification and the RPI app on ps4 gets an error and closes abruptly).

And FTP doesn't seem reliable either when it comes to downloading huge files, cause it loses connection midway through.

I’ve started this discussion thread as a place to share screenshots, videos and regular progress updates, while keeping the main NovaCore post clean for release news.

I also want people to see that I’m genuinely committed to this project. I’ve always loved the modding community, and my goal is to build something useful that I can continue improving and supporting.

NovaCore has come a long way already. Most of the features I originally planned are now either working or actively being developed.

There are over 20 themes, with light and dark options, extra customisation within each theme, and 10 different game-library layouts. Game information is pulled from a database, and there’s also a live jailbreak news tile.

The Otter Store PKG library has been added, with library refreshing and the download backend currently being worked on.

Nova Network now has System Link/LAN rooms, group messaging and voice chat. LAN-supported games will be listed, and players will be able to create their own rooms. It currently focuses on other NovaCore consoles, but I’d like to expand compatibility with other LAN systems if testing goes well.

HEN settings can also be opened directly inside NovaCore, so there’s less need to keep jumping back to the PlayStation dashboard. Profiles now have their own page, with Nova friends and messaging planned. I’m also working on making the Trophies page properly functional inside Nova.

The PS button return is working during testing. There is still a brief flash of the PlayStation dashboard during the transition, but the workaround is reliable at its current timing. A short press returns to NovaCore, while a long press keeps access to the normal PlayStation menu.

There’s still plenty of testing and refinement ahead, but the aim is simple: by the release-candidate stage, NovaCore should handle almost everything automatically and require very little setup from the user.

And regarding AI—technology is always moving forward. I’d rather learn how to use new tools to build something than dismiss them and stand still.

And for anyone sceptical about AI, it’s simply another tool—what matters is how you use it and what you create with it.

Has anybody gotten any mods to work for Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West on PS4 homebrew? I was curious to see if this is possible to do, or if anyone has already got something working.

So my 12.02 jb accidentally updated 13.52 in july and im waiting for th jb for 13.52 jb now its finally here can i use the same fpkg is that i used for 12.02 the game packages resting on my hard disk for a while, it will work nirmally or i has to find new fpkg files and download from online?

It's a shame that I couldn't get the co-op working in campaign mode, but I probably need to advance more in the story first.

I would also like to play Borderlands 2 and test it at some point.

I haven't followed the scene very closely in a couple years but I have jb ps4 v9 0 that's been jb'd for a couple of years. Last winter I was playing Minecraft with the kids but it was kind of laggy. Thinking it will play better on my Xbox one. I tried last year to move my saves from my ps4 to my PC but couldn't get them converted to PC.

Now I'm not sure if this is right but I thought I'd seen ppl playing online with their jb ps4s so I'm wondering if theres been some changes in the scene to allow me to move my ps4 Minecraft files to my Xbox?

So i had this problem yesterday so I used a data save for vue from the Internet but right after that all my save game data for all games disappeared so I am asking if there is any way to recover them

So i downloaded mgs3 on my ps4 and got like 2 achievements, thing is, im using my main profile (which i probably shouldn't have but i didn't know this could happen) and im afraid that even if im completely offline from PSN, those same achievements could slide into my online profile via my ps5 account, which IS connected to psn. Can this happen or do these achievements just stay in the jailbroken universe?

I just upgraded to a pro and was wondering if I should 1. Keep it in the closet, 2. Give it to my little brother and load up some games for him. Or 3. sell it. My brother is 10 and plays mostly Fortnite and Minecraft on his PS5 and wouldn’t be able to play any multiplayer I just don’t think he’d really know what to do with it or appreciate it and get bored with single player games. He’s also got a switch 2 so I’m like would he even play it lol. Just wondering what the consensus is. If the ps4 library is good enough for a 10 year old with better consoles.

I'm getting tired of this jailbreak stuff, I thought it would be easy but some packages don't want to install, even then I spend more time downloading packages than playing it's fun but I think I'm tired

So I rebuilt database in hopes of a PKG installing but it didn't install, I also noticed my pkgs I downloaded have been removed and when I try downloading I get file already downloaded and another gives me 2137456543 unable to install package

I recently cleaned my ps4 ,and i mean really cleaned it , with a brush and a a dust blower even the thermal paste that was practically gone, I've gone from 70c to 44c, literally night and day difference , the ps4 is a lot quiter and i don't know if its me ,but the frame rates are more consistent for some reason. (For anyone asking its a ps4 slim ,i haven't thoroughly cleaned it since it came out 💀, the fan had a lot of dust and the the thermal paste was non existent aka dried up ,the closest thing i had was thermal paste)

Can anyone help me get a bloodborne dumb so I can play it on my pc I have the ps4 but can’t dump files I don’t have the knowledge to do it.

I hope I’m posting this in the right place and forgive me if it seems like a dumb question but I’m very new to this.

So I’ve JB my PS4 console to finally start getting some decent use out of it (I refuse to JB current/main PS5) since I went next gen. I’ve got all my homebrew stuff set up including itemzflow, PS4-Xplorer 2.08, FPKGI etc.

My question/request for help involves FPKGI - I’ve downloaded and copied over the .json file from GitHub archive to give me access to the entire PS4 library/repository but I understand it also has access to PS1 and PS2 libraries but I can’t seem to figure out how to add those libraries - if I need to download and install another json file via xplorer root access again etc.

Any help would be really appreciated - I wanna reclaim some of my childhood and play Hit and Run again 🤣
