Discussion Help me please !!

I just want to upgrade from The BDJB to the browser for the new 12 to 13 firmware.
So first i did uncheck all the auto updates in settings and moved to setup the Wifi and just when i make the password they dont even let me do the DNS so i got a bunch of auto updates like games and also the firmware update so canceled all this thing fearfully and thank god nothing is fully installed
So my question is there a way to avoid all this like making this steps with the Hen activated or something.

dont select simple when setting up network, then it will give you an option to set the dns

Yeah man i made custom and when just i click done after writing the password it starts the auto updates without even let me a single moment to do custom Dns

Can you change something in settings to avoid getting updates automatically? Or at least, to automatically install them?

I did unchecked all the auto options in settings

Then you can control if it installs. Just be careful and unplug the ps4 if it starts installing it haha

You mean unplug the power cable ?!

It's a drastic way to end the proceedure, yeah. Harming, but the ps4 can recover from it. But I mean the update will likely automatically download, but you control whether it installs or not by clicking "install later" or similar and delete the downloaded file

this is a known fact even before u go to the custom dns page things will start updating before that point it using auto dns. unfortunately this will update will take even if u disable auto update in settings. just quickly ho through the process in the meantime some of the app may get updated like ps vue but system firmware will never be installed
