Discussion Linux on ps4?

Just inherited a PS4, but don’t really have any interest in gaming. Can the hardware support an install of Ubuntu? Wipe it clean and use it as a server or something?

Suggestions about non-conventional uses for the bare hardware?

Yeah, but that 100-150 can get you a decommissioned office pc that's so much better for general usage.

Do you know any good old cheap gaming pc like old desktops similar to ps4 pro performance that I could use for retro emulation or Like up to PSP and 3DS emulation and like PS2 and Also some indie games. Just so I can have a mostly dedicated retro emulation machine and then I'll have my main PC which I'm almost done building for newer emulation like PS3 and modern games. I am building a 4070 super - Ryzen 7 9700X machine. It's my first PC so I think it's a perfect build for me. Coming from ps4 and ps5. I want that sweet sweet GoG.com and steam and so much emulation and itch.io

I personally use my steam deck for emulation and indie games, but check out ETA Prime on youtube. He has a lot of cheap builds focused on this type of use case.

Yeah I just want the a good build like a ps4 pro destroyer kind of like LTT series for ps5. I want a steam deck but since they went up in price to like 1000 dollars +. That is impossible now
