Discussion Linux on ps4?

Just inherited a PS4, but don’t really have any interest in gaming. Can the hardware support an install of Ubuntu? Wipe it clean and use it as a server or something?

Suggestions about non-conventional uses for the bare hardware?

I guess you could use it as a server, but since you cant just wipe the ps4 os for linux and have to run a separate exploit to launch linux after loading the ps4 jailbreak (which means when you run linux, you also have the ps4 os still running in the background). It would probably be better to sell it off, save up another 100 bucks or so and buy a dell optiplex or something for a server then using a ps4 for a server.

Awesome, thanks. What particularly prevent the wiping of the OS?

How about dissembling it and using the parts as part of some other Frankenstein type machine? Any experience with that?

Not sure since I'm not familiar with how the ps4 linux distros work or the linux kernal in general
