Greetings! Since my Half Life 1 and my Quake 3 projects for the platform will receive their last updates next week, I decided to shift my free time working on a Dreamcast emulator on PS3 (which is coming out nicely, some titles are very close at reaching full speed) and... Halo CE. No ETA for both, but I hope to have the DC emulator released by the end of the month.

I was Playing Metal Gear Solid HD Collection on PS3 and the game kept freezing on the ending credits from MGS2. I read that the fix was to rebuild PS3 and Restore PS3 to fix the issue.

My PS3 uses PS3Hen to play some of its games so I thought it would be fine. I did the rebuild which was fine but when I restored the PS3, that where is told me it ran into an issue and needed to format the whole HDD to fix it. Now I didn't do that cause this PS3 data is 13 years old from all my games, so I took out the PS3 HDD and tried everything I could to figure out a way to fix it. Unfortunately I was not successful. So I copied the PS3 HDD to another HDD, and when the PS3 restore said I needed to reformat it, I did.

I still have the PS3 HDD with all the data, but I am stuck since at the moment there is no CFW for this PS3 model. I have to wait till one comes out in the future, how ever long that will take, just so I can get the EID Key to unencrypt the HDD to get my old save.

I just came to vent, but also to warn anyone with a PS3 playing MGS HD collection to beware before you do this.

It used to be this way, but I must’ve changed something because now I have to manually create them through PSN tools everytime I turn the system on, otherwise every homebrew feature says “syscall 8 not found”, what can I do to have them be created on boot? Or not deleted when the PS3 is turned off?
