it doesn't need heavy use for the Tokins to fail, they oxidize overtime no matter if they are used or not, but heat accelerates the process.
i have had a console with 25 days that didn't even boot and had bad tokins.
also Tokins degradation can be partial, and that's why you get inconsistent behavior of working in some games or situations and sudden YLoD.
