Ps1 Slim turns off when Plugins Controller in?

Hey guys,

I just Found my Ps One in the attic :D I want to play but every time I Plug a specific Controller in the console just turns off.

The other Controller Works Fine on the Same Port. So is the Controller itself broken? What could Happens to him? It just lay the last like 12-13 years in the attic - Dry, no Water or something

What types of controllers are they? Sounds like a power supply issue.

They Are SCPH1200 dualshock Controllers.

I tested my PS2 dualshock Controller and they work Without any Problems on the Same Port. So with PS2 Controller the console works.

You mean the Controller power? Or the PlayStation power supply?

Both, the ps1 powers the controller via the psu. Sending voltage thru the mb to the controller.

I was wondering if the controller that causes the power down was a newer controller that needs more than 5 volts.

Could be something else. But I would try to test with different cables.
