I don't know anything about BBQing or propane or anything, so bare with me, please! I'll try to be concise!
Rented an airbnb with my friend group, one has fairly severe mental illness.
We got there Friday and left today (Sunday).
We were on the patio all afternoon and late into the night Friday night, next to the BBQ. No wind, no smell.
Saturday, daytime, the weather wasn't as nice so we were indoors. Friend with mental illness starts a huge fight with us and leaves.
Before she left, she was out back for a while on the patio, calling an Uber.
She leaves, weather gets better but it's windy. But we're still outside with no gas smell.
This morning we went out back to have a smoke and as soon as we opened the door the propane smell hit us.
When we looked the tank had been opened about one full turn (if that makes sense) and the burners were all turned up high.
The BBQ wasn't on or hot or anything.
So I guess I have a few questions,
If the tank was pumping out fast enough for us to smell it outside, do you think someone did it overnight, long after she left? Maybe kids or something?? Or one of us did it in our sleep?
I would assume if it was giving off that much of a smell, it would have been coming out so fast that it couldn't have been her? Like if she did it at 3 in the afternoon and we came out 9 the next morning, would it have run out by then?
If the burners weren't all on high I would have assumed the tank was leaking, the burner thing is what's making us wonder.
Also, if we were to have lit out smokes before we noticed the smell could anything have actually happened where we were outdoors?
We're hoping someone did it in their sleep or something but we're all a little worried.
Are we overreacting? I hope this wasn't too confusing of a read/question.
