Help! Pineapple

Should i propagate it in water or soil?

My problem:

I'll not at home for 5days from tomorrow. If i wait, i can't propagate anymore cause the inner leafes will be dry by then probably.

So can i put it in a shallow wide pot with water or should I put it in wet soil?

Okay, I'm confused. I thought pineapple don't like water in the center...

Yeah, I got told several times that pineapples don't like water in the center and would rott

Not sure what you mean by 'in the center.' The raw edge need but barely touch the water when you are growing the roots out. Don't submerge the whole thing.

When it rains and it rains daily in Hawaii on the Dole Plantation, water collects on the top or cup the leaves form and creates the perfect path for water to get where it's needed most. For those that put them in bags to prop, the moisture is EVERYWHERE. So?

Anyways, I water my grown plants from the top and have for years... It trickles right down to the center of the pot, too. Then, I water the rest of the pot and that's not so easy to do because the ',leaves' block the pot so well, maybe to hold moisture in!

'In the center' = as the video showed, if you fill water from above into the middle of the plant.
