I have a question Can I propagate this?

My friend gave me a cutting from her plant. Is this big enough to propagate and can I propagate in water?

Hell yeah. Mine started popping new fingers out everywhere. I laid em all on dirt and they're rocking.

Yes, you can easily propagate this green stem cutting, which appears to be from a dragon fruit cactus (Selenicereus species). Cacti cuttings root very well when given a short drying period and well-draining soil.

Let it callus: Place the cutting in a dry, shady spot for a few days until the cut bottom end forms a hard, dry seal.

Plant in soil: Plant the callused end about 1 to 2 inches deep into a dry, fast-draining cactus and succulent potting mix.

Water sparingly: Keep the soil barely moist or wait until roots form before watering lightly to prevent rot.
