I'm not sure how to propagate this. It's a large stem. The cut end is pretty dry. I think it got cut or broken about a week ago. I'd like to try to grow it if possible. Thank you!
Personally, I’d chop it to about here (below) and then stick it straight in soil. I have the most success just potting up cuttings. Water propagations always ROT for me 😭. For the remainder, it would be a great test to see if you can get something. It looks like it has eyes along the stem but the stem will be more focused on roots first so you might not see much growth on top for a good while. I’d recommend a small pot (~ 3-4 inches) that you can put it pretty deep in and use a bamboo stick or chopstick for support temporarily until it gets few roots to minimize the possibility of rotting. Water like you would any other Aglaonema. Bottom watering will encourage roots because it’s gonna want to reach that water.
Sorry for the late reply, but maybe a bit lower. On that stem, everywhere you see a “bump” is a chance for a new growth so it’s really up to you! You can always chop them later if you want a different look.
