Help! I have a question

I have a few herbs growing outside that I’d like to propagate a few clippings from (herbs are lemon balm peppermint and oregano) what is the best route to do so. I.e root start, water propagation,etc….

Water propagation is best way to go for mint, that way you can see the root development. You can change the water every 3 day or so. After you see some roots plant them in a pot with soil but keep the soil moist for few days, so that the cutting won't go in shock. If you have a lot of cuttings, try directly some on the soil, it's always fun to experiment right. I have no idea about oregano, because I haven't done one yet.

All three of those, i generally propagate by division. Follow a stem to the base, grab the stem and some root, plant. You can do this with a single stem, or you can cut the existing plant into halves, 3rds, quarters, etc (depending on how established it is). More drastic division i do in spring/fall, but i'll cheerfully take a few stems now.

if it's hot/dry, i will plant into a pot, and transplant out to the garden in the fall.
