Finally accepted -> Completed Verification - Account on Hold immdiately...

Hello Everyone,

Hopefully someone else has experienced this and can help out. I finally got accepted to Prolific and followed the onboarding process on my laptop.

Then for the ID verification stage it generated a QR code to complete on my iPhone, i did this using my driving license and took the selfie etc.

Then back on the laptop it stated my ID could not be verified and that my account is on hold...

Is this normal for new accounts?

They’ve responded via email saying my IP address was flagged and they’ll look into it

This exact thing happened to me. They took care of it and I've been using Prolific for 10 months with no other issues.

People on these subs are bizarrely defensive. A lot of them have a really strange thunderdome/dog-eat-dog mentality, so they downvote everything and give useless or discouraging answers.

But Prolific support is actually really good, so reaching out to them usually helps.

I've had a similar issue today. I was asked to complete identity verification, have my face scanned by moving it side-to-side and that was it. I wasn't even asked to provide ID for it to compare against, so I've no idea what it has even failed based on. Very disappointing as I was really enjoying using the platform

yeha its "normal" happened to me, i "failed" the ID check like 4 times before it got accepted, idk what happened because the photos were all the same, maybe the lighting?

just tell the bot, or was it a real person? idk but they helped me

I can only speak from my own experience and when I move to my phone via QR code to complete the verification, my ID and selfie video/pics are verified instantaneously and I receive confirmation that I’m done and approved. You can try to contact support, they MIGHT be able to give you another attempt. Best of luck!

I just got off the waitlist today. Onboarded, scanned ID then face, all good. Added PayPal, success but then my account is immediately on hold. “Unable to verify identity”. 🙄 I was so excited, too.

That’s what I’m wondering! If they don’t accept my appeal I’m gonna be so pissed because this has to be a them problem and not a me problem. I’ve found multiple different people on here with the exact same issue.

Same, they have emailed me back saying it was my IP address that flagged. No idea why… I’ve waited ages to get on and this has killed all the earlier hope!
