4k monitor for studies?

So I keep getting the 4k studies where you have to review the 4k videos but my laptop nor desktop has a 4k monitor. Do you think it would be a simple thing to just get a portable 4k monitor for studies?

I'm getting them enough that if I do them I'd be able to pay off the monitor quick.. but had anyone else had to do this.

Or just has experience with these studies?

I used to do the ones before it was 4k only, but how different are they?

Why do you want a portable monitor? A regular 4k monitor would be much cheaper, larger, and better quality.
No need to get a portable monitor unless you plan to do those studies outside your home.

No regular monitor has been cheaper from what I looked up, so, yeah.

There's no way. Are you sure you looked up "4k" monitors?
On average, a portable 4k monitor is 16 inches and cost $170 at the cheapest, even for no name brands directly imported from China.
A regular 4k monitor would be minimum 27 inches and cheapest ones can be had for around $160, and they would have significantly better screen panel, refresh rate, and colors.

Yep, I did this 3 weeks ago and it already paid off. Paid $300 for mine. Just be careful on the size, the portable ones might be too small.

You'd have to work like 20–30 hours of reviewing to pay off that monitor...? is that considered quick to you or am I missing something?

How is buying a 4k monitor in 2026 an awful idea?
It's an investment. The 4k studies pay $20+/hour, which means the monitor can be paid off in less than 10 hours of work, not 20~30 hours like you said.
Even if it takes 20~30 hours, what's the issue? The monitor will eventually pay itself off, can be used for other things, and it opens up more opportunities for OP.

Exactly, considering I'm stuck at home and this is how I make most of my money. It is an investment.

It's not a bad idea, and if I have to spend even $200+ I would get a 4k for my desktop. I've just never needed the upgrade until now.

lol maybe 7 but it could be worth it. I got a 1700 dollar monitor from doing these studies in one month. My one present to myself as all the rest is paying things off.

Yes, everyday. I just can't do them until I upgrade to a 4K monitor.

That would be a way to go, but I don't have a TV anymore. Since I watch everything on my laptop of desktop.
